ZEPHYR'S POV

“How could you!?” Celeste shouted. She and the rest of the pack members had found out about the rogue wolf who also happened to be my mate and they didn't take it well, especially Celeste. But what could they do, I was their alpha and they had to listen to me especially when it was matters about my mate.

Celeste had followed me all the way from the training grounds to my office, she looked pissed and ready to explode. I knew this was not going to be easy.

Celeste and I have known each other since we were still young pups. She was the first female I fell for and we were each other’s first of everything.

Everyone knew of our relationship and they supported us, they saw her as the future Luna of our pack. Everything was going well until my parents passed away.

My father passed away after suffering from a terrible sickness and my mother followed shortly from heartbreak. It was the worst time in my life but I had to be strong for the sake and survival of my pack.

Celeste and Ronan were there with me helping me through tough times, but a few months after my mother passed away Celeste found her mate. His name was David Ocean, he was from a different pack but moved to our pack after meeting Celeste.

Celeste was not happy about me letting her go just like that, but she later accepted it and got together with David. He was good to her and he loved her, everyone could see it.

Two years after they got together David died. He had gone to a nearby river at the edge of our territory and he got attacked by two rogue wolves. Celeste was devastated, she barely ate and refused to speak to anyone.

A couple of months later she was back to the Celeste everyone knew and loved. And she also tried getting back with me, but I could not do that. All my feelings for her had finished, I only saw her as someone I needed to protect because she was part of my pack.

But Celeste was not the type to give up and she kept trying over and over again. On the day of my parents’ death anniversary I lost control of myself and we ended up sleeping together but that was all it was just sex without any meaning behind it. I was just looking for a way to let out my frustrations and pain.

Ever since then we always had sex on my parents’ and her mate's death anniversaries. To me that was all it was, a way of getting unnecessary feeling out of our systems.

“Celeste.” I said in a serious tone.

“What, huh!? Celeste what!? You are keeping a rogue wolf in your house. A rogue Zephyr, a fucking rogue. What if she kills everyone here, huh. Then what would you do?” She screamed, her breathing was unstable and she paced up and down.

“This has nothing to do with you. She is mine and nobody is going to tell me what to do with her.” I replied calmly, watching her acting crazy.

She stopped in her tracks and faced me, her face was so flushed it looked like she was going to pass out. “Did you just say she's yours?” She shrieked, pulling at her hair.

“Yes.” I replied nonchalantly.

A look of disbelief clouded her face. “Zephyr, she is a rogue and you know what rogues do. They destroy things, steal, they break and they kill. They only bring misfortune and misery wherever they go. This girl, she is no exception. Just reject her and….”

“Get out.” I said calmly.

“What?” She asked.

“Make use of the door and get out.”

“Zephyr, are you kicking me out because of the thing in….”

“Don't you dare. That woman is your future Luna, you and everyone in this pack shall speak of her with respect. Now get the fuck out before I cut off your tongue.”

Her eyes glossed over with tears but I did not care. I was her Alpha and she had no right speaking to me in that manner or speaking about my mate that way.

She sniffled and tears rolled down her cheeks. She slowly turned around and walked out. I let out a sigh before leaving the room.

I headed upstairs to the room she was in. As soon as I got closer to her door, a citrusy and fresh scent hit me. It was her scent, it made goosebumps appear on my whole body.

I knocked and then proceeded to unlock the door. I slowly opened the door and went inside.

My eyes were met with cold brown eyes. She was seated on the bed in an oversized black t-shirt and black sweatpants, her legs were crossed as she glared at me.Her curly black hair was in a low ponytail.

I sat on a chair across from the bed she was sitting on. She watched my every move like a hawk.

“Hey.” I said watching her closely.

“What do you want?” She replied aggressively.

“Your name.”

She rolled her eyes and bit her lips. I felt electricity moving through my veins. Her lips were nice and plum. I wanted to bite them too.

I licked my lips and watched her teeth sink into her bottom lip.

“Please tell me your name or I will just have to give you one myself.” I threatened.

“Can you just let me leave this place? I don't want to be here, I crossed into your territory by mistake. So please let me go.” She said,

I shook my head. “Tell me your name first and then I will consider it.” I lied through my teeth.I was not going to let her go anywhere.

“Morrigan.” She whispered.

“Who?”

“Morrigan!” She shouted.

I chuckled lightly, she was cute.

“Beautiful name.” I said, she rolled her eyes and scoffed.

“Sure, so can I go now?” She asked impatiently.

“And where do you wanna go? I am your mate, don't you understand what that means. You and I are meant to be together for as long as we live.” I cringed at my own words.

What was happening to me? Why was I saying all these things, all of a sudden.

“Listen here Zephyr or whatever it is they call you, I am not interested in this whole thing. I just want to leave this place, you and I can never be.” She said,

A frown formed on my face. “And why not?”

“It's none of your business, just go ahead and reject me before things go too far. I have places to be and this was definitely not one of them.” She said nonchalantly.

I felt my heart squeeze painfully. Reject her? Was she serious?

MORRIGAN'S POV I didn't think I was going to cry. But the moment I saw the tiny baby cradled in Kierra's arms, tears welled up. The room was warm and filled with many different scents but all I could focus on were the sounds made by the tiny baby. It was so tiny, so fragile, so real. “He's so, so perfect.” I said, voice barely audible. I moved closer, unable to look away. “Do you want to hold him?” Kierra asked, a smile etched on her face. She looked so pale and exhausted. I gulped. “Can I?” She nodded and gently passed the baby to me. It was so small, fragile and very light. I silently watched the tiny baby, his chest moving up and down. My heart squeezed and a smile grew on my face. I lightly tapped the baby's cheek with a single finger and his mouth opened in a sleepy yawn. My heart melted. “Oh goddess,” I blinked at Kierra. “I can't believe he was inside you and now he's here. In my arms.” “You're next.” She gave a tired chuckle. I looked down at my own swollen b

MORRIGAN'S POV “What did you say?” I whispered. I stared at the healer. Maybe I had misheard him, I might be hearing things. A smile graced his face, excitement filling his eyes. “You're with child.” My hand instinctively fell to my stomach. “B..but how?” I whispered, then let out a breathy laugh at my own question. I covered my mouth in stunned disbelief. So many emotions hit me at once, uncertainty, shock and happiness that felt too fragile to hold on to. My heart thundered as the truth sipped into my bones. This was real. I was really pregnant. “I'm pregnant.” I said. The words felt strange on my tongue, yet my chest felt warm. A small smile grew on my face. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But I knew that I couldn't wait to tell Zephyr. ____________________________________ I found him alone at the training grounds. His shirt clung to his back, hair being tousled by the wind. • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY SIX: WHISPERS OF THE PAST

MORRIGAN'S POV I stood at the edge of the territory nervously chewing my lip. Zephyr had been gone for a while now. Four whole days without him. I had stood in this very spot more times than I'd like to admit, just hoping to see him, smell him. Each passing day without him felt like endless torture. I just prayed and hoped to the goddess that he was safe and sound. On his way home to me. “They will be here soon, right?” Kierra whispered, her right hand supported her lower belly. Her feet were propped up on a small stool. I nodded my head, even though I wasn't too sure. I knew Zephyr was strong, very strong but Malakai used petty tricks. A shift in the breeze. A soft and distant sound. My breath caught in my throat. Kierra placed her feet down before getting up. “They're here.” She said with a huge smile on her face. Wolves and warriors emerged one by one, worn and bruised but alive. My eyes scanned for him. Where was he? “Ronan!” Kierra screeched besides me, happi

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY FIVE: AN EYE FOR AN EYE

ZEPHYR'S POV We finally reached the boundary of the Nightbane pack. “Alpha…please.” Ronan pleaded. “ I know Malakai deserves to suffer but this…this raid. It won't bring our people back, all it will do is hurt innocent people and make us similar to them.” “Ronan please.” Rick groaned. “Spilling their blood won't heal us and you know it too Rick.” “This is not about healing Ronan, this is about making a statement to the rest of the worthless bastards who think they can come for our pack whenever they want. And to avenge our people.” Rick said, running a hand through his hair. “Don't you remember what happened last time with the other pack?” Ronan whispered. I didn't even glance at him. I clenched my jaw and faced forward. “ They drew first blood. I'm simply finishing what they started.” “Do not hurt the innocent. Only those who stand in the way of our vengeance. Leave Malakai to me. I have a score to settle with him.” I commanded. Ronan sighed in defeat and followed be

ZEPHYR'S POV “Is it okay for us to do that?” Ronan asked. “What do you mean by that?” Rick asked, crossing his arms. “They attacked us first, if we don't retaliate other packs that are eying our territory will think that they can attack us anytime they want.” Ronan glared at him before facing me. “Alpha, if we attack the Nightbane pack….if we strike them with the same cruelty they did…then what separates us from them?” “They killed our people. So many of our people died. Lovers, friends, family, even children…… little pups. They all died, killed because of Malakai, so how can we not take revenge.” Rick clenched his fists. “Revenge? By killing people just like what they did, wouldn't that make us monsters just like them.” Ronan said, running a hand through his hair. “Monsters,” he scoffed. “Stop pretending like you're better than us, you're the worst of us. You have killed young pups before so stop acting like a good person….you're not.” Ronan clenched his jaw and fists. “Shu

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER FORTY THREE: A MOMENT LIKE THIS

MORRIGAN'S POV The past few weeks had been chaotic, but right now, it was just us. Zephyr and I sat under a blanket of stars, our backs resting against a tree, a fire crackling a few steps from us and the river flowed quietly. My head lay silently on his shoulder, his hand made slow circles on my back. I let out a low giggle. He tilted his head towards me with a smile on his lips. “What's funny?” He asked. “I've just realized that this is the first time we have ever sat down under the stars together. Without worrying about anything, or having anything hanging over us.” He let out a soft laugh and pulled me closer. “Mmh of course. Our love and bond is stronger than anything.” I looked up at him, our noses brushing. “Yes it is.” And slowly without urgency, he leaned down towards me and kissed me. A tender kiss, sweet, unhurried. The kind that lingered. We slowly pulled apart and our foreheads pressed against each other. “I like this version of us. Happy. Smiley
