I was sitting in the living room in the morning, tapping my fingers on the table as Dave stood in front of me, reading the email. His voice was calm, but what he was saying made me boil inside.

Many investors were pulling out of my company and the stock was dropping fast.

“Damn it,” I cursed quietly.

I knew this would happen. They were trying to destroy me, yeah, I knew that Tina, Alex, and whoever else was working with them were all trying to bring me down. They thought if they ruined my name, I would fall. But they were wrong. I have been through worse so I won’t give up now.

When Dave finished reading, he looked at me with worry in his eyes.

“Boss… I think you need to act fast. If we don’t do something now, it might be too late.”

I didn’t say anything right away. I just leaned back, thinking hard. I had to be smart. There’s always a way to fight back.

Just then, I heard the sound of heels clicking on the floor. I looked up and saw Sonia descending down the stairs.
