Becoming a lady

Emily's point of view:

The old lady's name turned out to be Violetta, she's one of the few people that know Daniel closely. Of course from the day he introduced me to her, he never showed up. I was informed that I have to visit the lady each day from morning till afternoon, this whole month. When this month is over, Daniel will come to check my progress.

Well, since I lost my job Daniele decided on sending me some money. This was all I was informed about from Violetta before I checked on my bank account to discover that 100 000 dollars were added to my account. This is more than even what I want to earn in the whole year.

Neither Violetta nor I know the reason why I was receiving such treatment from Daniel, nor the reason why he wanted her to fix me so that I'll look like one of these high-level ladies asking her. So far, I'm only following rules which is something I'm used to.

Of course, I like it here better than when I was working with Lucia. I mean, the only thing I'm doing is learning how to become one of those classy ladies. For the rest of my day, I spend it relaxing.

Based on Violetta, a real lady is the one that knows from where to pick her clothes, what sort of hair cuts suits her face, then what to eat and what to avoid. Though I disagreed with most of her opinions, I was in no place to say a thing.

A woman is more than a doll with a pretty face. A woman has more issues than to keep track of her weight. I mean, it's okay for a woman to want to gain or lose weight up to her wishes, but not because she has to. A woman is a wonderful, smart creature, full of feelings and emotions, a real human being.

Little does she know about the impact of any woman on each and every society. Little she knows about what happens when one woman decides to go messing. She would know if she was me, she would know if she has to grow without a mother. I mean, if my mother was still alive, I would've had a better life than now.

I only knew what my mother was carrying on her shoulders when she was gone. If she was alive, I would still have no family.

Well, though I know that I might not be able to speak up, for now, I still can enjoy the moment.

I'm normally a medium-high girl, with long raven black hair that reminds me a lot of my mother, black eyes that were my own. My black eyes never resembled my mother nor my father, they were my own. Not to mention my facials that used to be similar to the one my mother had.

Yet, to avoid looking like my own mother - I decided on changing my hair color from time to time. It is difficult to look like the person you miss a lot and you know that you want to be able to ever.

As expected, Violetta didn't like the change I was doing to my hair, so she dyed it back to its original color, black. She says that it suits my face better, and I can not disagree with that.

All my clothes that were bought by Daniel were the type of formal clothes. It was all a bunch of suits which got me confused even more.

There were skirts suits, dress suits, blazers, and pants suits. I wouldn't be lying telling you that I've never seen that many suits, nor thought that suits might look as attractive as those.

What Violetta taught me about these suits was briefly combining suits in order to have a professional look, pick colors that would make me look more professional, and appear smart yet pretty.

After she was done with my clothing, she moved on to teach me how to eat if I was invited to somewhere where

The first I heard about it was sort of funny for me. I mean, I don't believe that there's anyone who doesn't know how to eat. I ended up being the one who didn't know so...

Well, our next destination was one of the Knights' restaurants. First, I thought that the name was similar to Daniel's last name as a sort of coincidence. But it turns out to be one of his family belongings. I can't use words to describe using words, it was beyond magnificent.

I sat facing Violetta at a table that was full of all sorts of delicious food that I'd never seen before. She nods as a sign for me to start eating.

As I started, she started making instructions.

"Chew with your mouth closed!" She said, while not even looking at my face. I felt my cheek heating up as I noticed that I was making a sound while eating.

"Hold the utensils correctly. Don’t use your fork or spoon like a shovel or stab your food." I did as I was told. Then a notice showed on my phone, and as I decided to take a look at it, she snapped at me.

"Keep your smartphone off the table and set it to silent or vibrate. Wait to check calls and texts after you are finished with the meal and away from the table." Again, I did what I was told.

"Remember to use your napkin."

"Wait until you’re done chewing to sip or swallow a drink."

"Pace yourself with fellow diners. Cut only one piece of food at a time."

"Avoid slouching and don’t place your elbows on the table while eating."

"Instead of reaching across the table for something, ask for it to be passed to you."

"Bring your best self to the meal. Take part in the dinner conversation."

She rained remarks on me until I felt ashamed of myself. It stayed the same way for days until I was finally able to eat in peace.
