Chapter 37

Lisa walked into the managing director's office, relieved that Mr. Byers was no longer employed there, and was greeted by a slim Asian woman sitting in the managing director's seat.

She was taken aback for a few moments because she hadn't expected to see anyone in that office at that time of day because Mr. Byers was always late.

"Good morning," she said as she tried to gather her thoughts.

"Hey." Looking up, the woman said. "Good morning. You're Lisa Thompson, aren't you?"

"Yeah," Lisa said.

"My name is Annisa Sari, and I'm the new managing director."

"Nice to meet you, ma'am." Lisa said as she walked over to the flower vase, attempting to replace the flower.

"You may remove the vase." Annisa said.

"Ma?"

"I don't like flowers and vases."

Lisa took out the vase, relieved.

When Lisa finished her work for the day on Friday, she walked to the managing director's office.

"I'd like to get going."
