LIZA POV
A tremor of excitement coursed through me when the words left his mouth. I stood facing the door for a good minute, trying to calm the fuck down. I wasn’t going to show my excitement, not in front of the two men who had just undermined me in ways I have never imagined. I had to keep my cool.I turned swiftly and walked back to the boardroom table and placed the files and devices, then sat down yet again. I felt his soul-piercing eyes boring holes on my skin, and I was very aware of his presence because of how heady his cologne was on my senses!“Well, since the deal is closed, I shall leave you two to it. Thank you so much for this. Those people are waiting to hear from me.” The jittery old hack fidgeted and nervously laughed as he got out of his seat. He walked to me and stretched his hand. I wanted to ignore it but knew I couldn’t let my emotions get the best of me. So I got up and plastered a very professional, work-friendly smile and shook his hand.
