40 - Asking the hard questions
James clutched his phone tight. A line of frown creeping to his features. His heart sunk at the sound of Monica's voice at the end of the call. This was totally unexpected and he hadn't the slightest clue as to what to do.
"Monica?" His voice was low with concern. 'Did Sly do anything to her? Why is she calling me? If Sly gave her my number, then it's fine.
"James, I got your number from your secretary." James' face drained of color. It would have been okay if Sly was aware but this showed that Sly wasn't aware. He instantly had a bad feeling about this.
"James, I just need to talk to you. It's about Sly." James felt that something must have happened to Sly.
"What happened to Sly? Is he alright?"
"Yes, he is fine. Can I meet up with you somewhere? Please don't tell Sly." James was stupefied. What if this was a setup? However, he knew that Sly wasn't such a person and Monica didn't seem like that either.
