69 - Divorce or not, I have moved on
At the Norman Holdings, Sly was at the office earlier than usual. His secretary had previously informed him about an investor. Sly was surprised at how a response came just three days after the advertisement. He hoped that more investors would show up to make up the whole amount. He still needed 18 billion since James had committed to 2. Either way, he didn't give it much thought, since Norman Holdings was still number one and the news concerning the loss had not been released therefore, it would attract investors across the world. Sly was exceptionally dressed today since it was a very important meeting.
He made his secretary prepare all the necessary documentation for this important meeting. Two hours later. Mira walked into his office. "Mr. Norman, there is a gentleman here to see you. His name is Daniel Shaw.".
Sly was solemn. He didn't show his excitement. "I've been expecting him."
"I will let him in then," Mira said and walked out the door, ushering in

After it was confirmed that Barbara was pregnant, James took her home to rest. Kyle had already left and Gertrude had to leave with Elsie. She dropped Elsie at the Villa before she went home. Monica ended up sleeping the night in the hospital. She couldn't leave Sly alone and sobbed through the night. She would jolt awake from one nightmare to the other, with fears of Sly not waking up. She didn't even remember to call or visit her parents. Elsie brought her clothes the next morning, as she used the hospital washroom to bath and changed into her working clothes. Her face was terrible from crying so much so she applied some make-up to hide it. She planned on spending not more than four hours in the office. She would return to the hospital afterward. At the hospital, Monica sat beside Sly with her computer on her lap. She worked and talked through her day with Sly as if he could hear her. She sobbed a few times and continued to work. Sometimes, she would bury her head in his stomach and soak it with her tears of regret. Mr Herbert Norman called from time to time, hoping for some good news, but rather recoiling with disappointment. James visited every day and Kyle sometimes. Veronica never showed up at the hospital again but Dickson did so a few times. Monica had become thin and frail, as a result of not eating regularly. She would drink coffee and snack on an apple or banana. When Elsie brought her food prepared by the new chef, she found herself not having the appetite.
