Chapter 25

Darlington Briggs;

Amara struggled to consume the bread and drink the tea. Being in a toxic relationship was detrimental to one's well-being. Marriages were not meant to be coerced, but now they are. I reluctantly agreed to marry a woman I knew nothing about in order to maintain harmony in my father's household.

"Do you not enjoy the tea?" Would you like me to have the maids prepare another cup of tea for you?" My father inquired of Amara, just as we were finishing up our breakfast. However, Amara was seated on the chair, her gaze fixed upon the bread in her hand.

"The tea is satisfactory," Amara responded. She stored the bread and took a sip from the tea.

After breakfast, my father stood up and told Amara, "We're heading to the church for the New Year's thanksgiving service." Do you also go to church in the countryside?

"Sure, I'd like to attend the church service here too," Amara responded briefly.

"Okay, no problem." You'll be taking a ride with Darlington in his car to the church,
