53 - The excitement never stops.
When Nathan left Mercedes, he wanted to get Luke arrested instantly but rather went in search of Griffin. No matter how he tried, he couldn't let it slide. Griffin didn't try to get out of the hotel. He just went to the room he had booked to change when a knock sounded on the door. Somehow, he suspected Nathan but knew he had to face him one way or the other.
As soon as he opened the door, a strong punch disfigured his teeth, causing his gums to bleed. "You asshole, she won't tell me but I know it's you. The surveillance cameras and CCTV with all investigations point at you. So tell me, why did you abduct my fiance?" Nathan was furious, glaring daggers at him.
Griffin wiped the blood from the corners of his mouth. The pain was seething but he endured it like a man. He couldn't be upset because he deserved it. "Your fiance is also my best friend, Nathan," he was remorseful but Nathan wasn't moved.

"Look, I said I'm sorry, okay? Let's not - " "She has a problem with my presence too?" Penelope cut him off, her voice so piercing, it aggravated Mercedes' already sour mood. "It's fine," Mercedes forced a smile and sat back in her chair. She could already feel that the night wasn't going to be as fun as she planned. "How was your day?" Griffin was worried about her. Mercedes might be bubbly on the outside but he could feel something wrong. After all, he has known her for over a decade.
