Elena’s POV

The bright rays of the sun slipped through the curtains and stabbed me right in the eyes.

I groaned.

There went my sleep.

After the rollercoaster of a night I had with Noah yesterday, I ended up crashing on Layla’s couch. I didn’t want to wake up; not yet. Maybe because the dream I was having was just that good.

In it, I was back at the movie theater with Noah. The way his eyes lingered on me… it felt so right. We were leaning closer to each other, slowly, breathlessly...

And then boom. That annoying manager popped up out of nowhere like a jump scare and ruined the moment. A blinding light followed, and just like that, I woke up… still on Layla’s couch.

I blew a strand of hair away from my face with an irritated huff and sat up, stretching out my stiff limbs.

“I should’ve known even my dreams couldn’t give me a win.”

That stupid manager’s face was already etched into my memory. But seriously...how did Noah not see him lurking there like a creep? Or… did he

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 91 Orphanage visit

Noah's POV "Are you sure this is the orphanage?" I asked Joshua as we stared at the standard-looking building, which had a huge name placed at the entrance. DELIGHT'S ORPHANAGE There was nothing delightful about an orphanage. Unless for an orphan. There was nothing delightful about being an orphan either. But didn't in the slightest bit soften my hatred for Lay... Elena. "Yes, boss," Joshua confirmed with a nod. "This is the orphanage." After revealing the truth to me three days ago, Joshua found the file and gave it to me. He was right. I saw with my very own eyes how wicked and cruel Elena was. I knew her beginnings. She was an orphan... From this very orphanage. The information also gave a detailed report on how and when she drugged my grandfather. Maybe deep down I had been hoping it was all a lie. That Joshua somehow had gotten things wrong and Elena wasn't behind it. I hated to think that I was so stupid.I was so blind to see that she was using me. After hurting m

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 90 Let it burn

Elena's POV Present day"What are you doing?" His deep voice filled my head. Before I could respond, I felt his strong arms creeping around my waist. My back rested on his strong chest. A smile slowly crept on my lips. "What does it look like?" I responded, picking up a large spoon. Jack leaned to have a glance at what I was doing and then he shook his head. "Stress cooking." He dumbly said. As soon as I heard those words, the events of the past week replayed in my head. My smile slowly went down, and I pressed my lips together. "It's not stress cooking, it's regular cooking." Yeah... I even I couldn't believe myself. These days I have gotten terrible at lying. How was that even possible? It used to be my profession! After seeing Jack again, after the kiss in his car... We saw each other more often. He collected my number and we spoke on the phone for an hour every day. Since neither of us could speak Estonian, we kept mostly to ourselves, enjoying each other's company. I

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 89 Entire truth

Noah's POV "... After I found out, I rushed to the registry to tell you everything boss. I was on the phone with you when it happened. The cars didn't collide with yours by accident, it was planned." "But they also didn't want you dead... They wanted exactly this boss, they wanted you to forget." I just stared at Joshua as he explained, the dull ache in my chest kept on growing. My breathing pattern changed, it became heavier. My head was just in a mess. Joshua has just explained those months I was missing from my memories.... Starting from the time I met Elena until the day of the accident. He said my grandfather had pulled another disappearing stunt that day. I was stressed. The old man ran away from the private facility I had kept him in... Again. It was getting late and there was no news of him. The search was close to Diamond's bar so I decided to go in to have a drink. He left me to talk to the men, and when he came back... I was holding a lady... Her. She flirted with

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 88 Remembering Elena

Noah's POV "He will be awake soon, Sir," the doctor said, hanging his stethoscope around his head. I nodded, a sigh escaping my nostrils. That was good. "I will take my leave." He took one more look at Joshua before bowing. I nodded again, giving him my permission before the man left. I returned my gaze to Joshua. After he collapsed in front of me, I thought of taking him to my house... Get a nurse to take care of him. But then I remembered Layla. She lied to me about everything for a year. She played with my feelings, and my head. There was no way I could trust her again... Not with Joshua. The man already looked so beaten up. Poverty alone couldn't do that to a man like him under a year. I couldn't trust anyone close to me. So instead of my house, I took him to a private hospital owned by a... Friend. The doctor confirmed my suspicions. I was right about Joshua not suffering from hunger and poverty alone. He was beaten, apparently constantly. His skin so so battered

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 86 Humiliated and out conned

Layla's POV Okay... I got it. Just because I said nothing could get me any angrier... God decided to send a little kid to test my temper. Well, fuck it... I failed. "Are you crazy?" I yelled at the little creature. I couldn't even tell whether it was a boy or a girl. The kid had pants and a shirt on with a baseball cap... Boy's clothes. But had the face of a cute girl. So I was unsure. Whatever the creature was it had just ruined my clothes! "Or just freaking stupid?" I asked gesturing with my hands. "Are you blind? Why the hell did you do that?" The kid took a step back, probably afraid because of how hard I was yelling. "I didn't see you." The creature apologized, gripping his cup tightly. "I'm sorry." "You didn't see me?" I snorted. What kind of an excuse was that? How short was I? Huh? This little bastard... A groan left my lips, I stared down at his cup. Milkshake. What had stained my clothes... It was milkshake. Argh!"Aish..." I looked down, then mumbled befo
