ANMELDENZara was crashing out.
The realisation that Asher was going to dump her the way he dumped Nicole scared her more than she wanted to admit. No matter how much she thought about it, it was unfair to her. It was unfair that he was just going to let her go after everything she had done for him. Just because he found a new woman.Anger warred with panic in her chest, and she could not sleep. How could she, when her beautiful, luxurious life, was about to be taken fromTrisha was not going to go down without a fight. After weeks of trying to call Asher to no avail, she eventually got released from the hospital. She was not even relieved about the news that she was okay and there were no technical or complicated issues from the accident. Trisha did not give a shit about that. What she cared about was the fact that Asher was not talking to her. He was not picking her calls, nor was he responding to her text messages. There had to be a reason for that, and Trisha needed to know what it was. The moment she got discharged from the hospital, she did not go straight home. Her car seemed to have been destroyed in the accident, so she took a cab and went straight down to Asher’s company. If he was not going to pick her calls and tell her what she did to deserve such treatment from him, then she would go to him. The cab dropped her in front of the company within a few minutes, and Trisha stormed into the building. She
“I'll be back in a bit. I just need to go and wrap up a few loose ends. Stop worrying about me, okay?” Nicole said gently to her mother. The older woman didn't want Nicole to go back to her place of transfer. All she wanted was for her daughter to move back home and be with her like she used to. Nicole, however, had been reluctant to leave the small company. She liked how peaceful it was, how the employees were people who treated each other like family. She liked how she didn't have to keep an eye on them all the time. The trust they had built in the company was strong, and Nicole loved it. She would have preferred to stay there, but her mother kept hammering on her to come back home. So she changed her mind. She would stay. She would resume work back at the main company with William, and move back in with her mother. But Nicole knew she couldn't just disappear like that. She had been away from the small company for several weeks now
“Don't pay her any heed, baby. Ignore her. She's just desperate for your attention. She keeps calling because she thinks you're still the guy who is in the dark about who she truly is. But now that you've seen her true colours, you don't have to hide it from her. She's a bitch and she will never deserve you in a hundred years.”Zara was running her hands through Asher's hair as she whispered those words into his ears. Asher didn't say anything, but he seemed to be content with the way they were. And that was just the way Zara liked it. Trisha had been calling him for days now, and apart from the one time Asher picked the call to yell at her, he ignored every other call that came after. He wanted nothing more to do with her. Hate and betrayal mixed with anger burned in his chest every time he remembered those texts, and no matter how much he tried to forget about it, he couldn't. Zara would never know, but a part of Asher also felt sad
"You don't have to go back, love. Really. You can just come back to the main company with me," William said as he kissed Nicole's hair. She squeezed his waist gently before she disentangled from the hug, a smile on her face. "Thank you, but I think I'm going to pass."William groaned dramatically at her refusal before his expression turned serious."I am very serious, Nicole. I know you're fine now, and you've been out of the hospital for a while now. Everyone is okay. Mum cannot wait to properly meet you over dinner tonight. Everything is perfect as it can be. Come back to the main company. It's been months since the rumors and all of that. I'm pretty sure everyone has moved on. I don't want to be so far from you."He curled his lips into a pout and blinked at her, his attempt at trying to look cute in order to change her mind. Laughter bubbled past Nicole's lips at the expression and how ridiculously cute he was. "
When Trisha's eyes blinked open, she didn't know where she was at first. Her vision was blurry, and all she could make out were bright pinpricks of light that were piercing her eyes. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to figure out where she was. Her entire body was sore, and every time she inhaled, pain lanced through her body. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong, but she had no idea what it was. Her heart palpitated in her chest as she opened her eyes again, and this time, she concentrated hard enough until her vision turned clear. It took Trisha a moment to realise that she was in the hospital. Panic and confusion warred in her veins at the realisation. Why was she in the hospital? What the hell was going on? What happened to her?The sound of the machine connected to her arm suddenly got louder, and she was irritated by the constant beep noises. As if someone could sense her despair, the door op
Nicole’s eyes blinked open, and the first thing she saw was the outline of someone leaning over her. The person seemed to be talking to her, but Nicole had no idea what was being said. The voice was muffled, and it was almost as though Nicole was underwater, her ears blocked with water. She closed her eyes and tried to open them again. There was a stitch in her chest, and she struggled so hard to listen, to hear what the person was trying to say. All of her efforts turned out to be futile though.. No matter how much she tried, she could not peel her eyes open again, nor could she make out the words she was pretty sure were being directed at her. Fatigue hit her all of a sudden, and her body went lax as she gave up trying. She decided to sleep. Maybe everything would be better once she woke up. Maybe she would be able to hear what the person was saying then. ~~“She opened her eyes. You saw it too, Wilson.
He isn't going to waste his time going through it. She can't do without him and earlier than he expected, she sent a letter to apologise to him. She has nowhere else to go. He held her lifeline and her mother's hospital bills were going to be handled by him. She dares to frown at his decision
When Nicole arrived home, her mother was so excited to see her. The two women hugged each other and her mother said “I expected you to be back yesterday, I was going to call Asher if he heard from you when you arrived” her mother complained, taking her suitcase away from her. “I'm home now. I
“What was that for? What you saw was nothing. Zara needed my help and I offered to drive her to the company…” he blurted, his cold gaze on her as if she's committed an offence. “I don't know what you're talking about and I didn't see anything either” Nicole snapped back at him. She tried to
Nicole smirked when she read Asher's text."Sorry I couldn't make it to the bridal shop. I've been busy with meetings. Take two weeks off work, look after your mom, and make the wedding plans."If she hadn't left the company when she did, she might still have been waiting for him for hours while he
