Chapter Fifty Seven

~Massimo’s POV~

My heart was beating so fast as I cradled Adriana’s lifeless form in my arms and began running towards the door.

As I ran, I couldn't help but think about how she must’ve gotten into such situation but at the same time, I couldn't bring myself to think about it much because I my brain was still too mushy to begin to think about several ‘whats’ and ‘what ifs’

“Open the gates!” I screamed at the gateman from afar but he didn’t even move. In fact, it almost felt as though he didn’t even hear me speak.

“Erik?!” I yelled and at the sound of his name, he rushed to his feet. “I said open the goddamn gates!” I yelled and without waiting to be told twice, he quickly scurried towards the gate, pried the heavy metal open and then stood to the side as if waiting for me to pass through.

I immediately took the cue, gently placed Adriana at the backseat of my Audi R8 and quickly jumped into the driver’s seat without waiting for my driver.

I drove the car like my life depended on it,
