She Wouldn't Know What Hit Her. Sara Hewitt. The night was closing in fast, and my heart thrummed with excitement when my phone buzzed. My face fell almost immediately when I saw the contents of the message. It was from my boyfriend, Elijah. Tsk. Not who I was expecting. I grudgingly called him back. "Hey love." I mustered my most seductive voice to him. "What's up?" "Where are you?" He sounded annoyed. "You were supposed to be here an hour ago. If you're not interested in the party, just say so. If you wanted to cancel out on me, you should have told me earlier instead of making me—" "Babe... Listen..." I cooed sweetly, trying to calm him. "I just got caught up with some chores for mom. Don't worry, I'm in my car and on the way. I will meet you there shortly." I sighed heavily after I clicked the call shut. Elijah was just a means to an end, the same way that Mrs. Lyla just became one. I mused at the expression on her face when one of my lower ranking girls pushed her into the swimming pool. Yes, that was me. I wanted to ascertain how much she meant to Sage so I could carry on with my plans. For now, I heard that Sage was still on school with Mrs. Lyla, taking care of her. I ran to his side to help the drowned Lyla so that Sage could have an impression of me. That was a start. Being with Elijah never got me that close to Sage, but today? He touched the sleeve of my dress to show his appreciation. That was the first time I ever felt an eruption of butterflies in my belly. He was like my god, and I was going to do anything for him to see me in a light that he would— Tsk! I was going to far already. My phone buzzed again. This time, I didn't get too excited because I wouldn't want to be disappointed. This time, it was what I was expecting. I called the number immediately. "Miss Sara..." The students shaky voice reached my ears and I could imagine the thin boy covered with freckles on his face and his digital camera in his arms. "What happened?" "Oh. Okay." He squeaked, which only left me appalled. "They spent time together in the nurses' office. Then, they spent close to forty minutes in her office." My heart started thumping as a lot of images filtered into my mind. Was it what I was thinking? No, no... Sage couldn't go that far. He wouldn't go that low to have anything to do with her. Couldn't he see she was manipulated by her? I was trying to calm my rage. "What about the school's security footage? What can you tap from there?" "Everything was off. I think... I think he did it." I could hear him shivering at the other end of the call. "I think Mr. Dominic switched it all off." "Could you get anything? Hear what they were discussing? What can you tell me?" I could hear him taking a big gulp of air. Yeah, I understood how he felt. He was spying on the great Sage Dominic, and if he got caught, Sage's reaction would be volcanic. Also, if I got tired of using him, I would turn him over to Sage— that would also bring Sage and I closer. No one knew it yet, but Sage was my soulmate. I could feel it deeply in my bones ever since the first day I stumbled into him in the supermarket...before he began schooling in Oakwood Academy. "There were..." He hiccuped. "Sounds. But, I'm not so sure. Maybe I was hearing wrong. It couldn't have been—" My entire body froze and I could feel cold sweat against my forehead. No. "Sounds? What kind of sounds?" I tried to steady my voice but I was failing miserably at that. My hands were shaking on the steering wheel. That wasn't possible. My nightmare couldn't be coming to pass. "I could have misheard. I—" "What kind of sounds, you vermin!!!" I screamed into the microphone, unable to keep my cool. My head felt like it was going to burst as I was hit with a terrible headache all at once. I knew what he was saying, but I wanted him to use his mouth to confirm what I had heard. Did that bitch really give him her body? Did... Fuck!!! "Pleasurable? Moaning?" He said it as if he wasn't sure. She did it, didn't she? She whored herself out to him, right? The rage I felt didn't compare to what I had in mind for Lyla. She was going to suffer for this. I was going to make her beg and crawl for forgiveness... For tainting my Sage... Only Elijah and I knew he was a virgin, but now...? She tainted him. I was going to kill her!!! "B...but... I couldn't get anything." He whispered over the phone, still scared. "I could only get a picture." I forced my saliva down my throat. "Send it in immediately." "I already did." He said. With that, I swiped the caller app away and located my text messages. There, I saw the picture. It was somewhat blurry, but one could still make out the silhouettes in the parking lot, especially the fact that they were standing beside Sage's car in his parking space. Anyone could easily see that this was Sage and that Lyla woman. In the picture, he was slightly bending as if kissing her forehead. No... this wasn't enough evidence to have her kicked out of school. People might say he was just opening the car for her and he had to bend low to do it. Tsk! Frustration creeped into my heart again. "What else did you find?" I asked him. "He took her home in his car, while his driver took her car." I was still angry. Still frustrated. Still mad! I wanted to pulverise Lyla. I wanted to watch her suffer! How could she? How dare she? Even after all my warnings? "Will that be all, Miss Sara?" The dimwit asked me again over the phone. I could have easily discarded him, but he seemed to be useful. "For now, yes." I told him. "I will contact you once I have another job for you. And Don? Don't tell anyone about anything, or else I will make do of my threats by a hundredfold!" I didn't wait for him to finish before cutting the call. My mind worked on different things until an idea popped into my head. I laughed. Yeah, I was going to do just that. When I checked my messages with Don, I was even more surprised to find a video attached to the previous photo he had already sent. A dark smile crossed my face as I quickly used my anonymous account and forwarded the evidence to the person I had in mind. Heh... Lyla wouldn't know what hit her... And I knew I had to do this without raising suspicion, if not, I would incur Sage's wrath.Chapter 50The Twist.Lyla Atelo.“I'm not…”“…wealthy enough to purchase this? Of course I know that. Sage gifted this to you, right?” Her eyes were beaming in joy. She didn't look disgusted at all about anything.“What other things did he get for you?” She peered into the box that sat in front of us, trying to rummage through it.“You know I can't accept this, right?” Right now, I needed her support for me to turn down these gifts. It was too much. I couldn't handle something this big.“Why not?” Ivy paused and lifted her head to stare at me with a frown.“It's not right, and you know that.” I tried to stress out, but Ivy didn't seem to be following. “He is… you know, he's my student. I'm his teacher. This kind of thing isn't supposed to be going on between us.”Ivy's eyebrows rose further up and she rolled her eyes. “Take it as a simple gift from a student.”“Simple? You call this simple?” I pointed to the document that still lay on the table. “It's a freaking Jewellery store. Not
Chapter 49A Brand New Owner.Lyla Atelo.Sage wasn't in school for the rest of the week, and today was Friday. I had texted him over and over again, but he never responded. I was tempted to go over to his house, but I didn't want a repeat of the last time.I was currently sitting in my office when the door was forcefully pushed open, and my least favourite person walked into the office.“Hello, Sara.” I folded my hands on my table and sat up to face her squarely. She gave me a once-over before taking in my office as if she had never been here before.“Will Sage be coming for Camp?” She asked outrightly.“Excuse me?”“You heard me right. Or are you dumb?”I choose to ignore her choice of words. “I heard you loud and clear, but what I don't understand is why you're asking me.”“Aren't you the one he's fucking?” She said calmly, not at all fazed by the vulgarity of what she was saying.“If you were remanded in court and asked to prove those allegations, would you be able to?”“Don't you
Chapter 48Naughty Little Slut.Lyla Atelo.I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and optimistic for some unknown reason. I turned to my side, watching Michael sleep peacefully beside me. I rolled my eyes and began to prepare for school.“You're quite late today. That's so unlike you.” Dominic, one of my male colleagues, pointed out as we walked side by side down the corridor.I shrugged. “I slept late, and I woke up late.”His mouth curved into a small smile, “Your husband kept you up all night, aye?” He teased slightly, and it took all of me not wince at his words.I forced a smile on my face with a little ‘heh heh’ to avoid the question. “So, are you prepared for the camping experience?”He understood my discomfort and immediately changed the subject. “I wasn't picked. There are only two male teachers coming while the rest are females. Aren't you aware of this?” He squinted as if trying to remember something. “Seeing that you're the coordinator of the camp?”“Coordinator?” I
Chapter 47Coming To Camp?Lyla Atelo.I came home with a stupid smile on my face. Sage had made my entire evening and I was just smiling like a fool.“You're back," my husband appeared from the corner of the doorway leading to the kitchen. He wore an apron which suggested that he was cooking.I frowned slightly at the sight of that, while waiting for him to complain that I had come home late.“I'm back, yes.” I smiled a little at him.“And in high spirits as well.” He noted that part, “I hope you had a great day at work.”“I did. How about you?” I shrugged off my shoulder bag which was beginning to get heavy and set it on the table, taking in a deep breath of what he was cooking.“I made dinner. Would you like some?” He noted the actions of my nose before asking, but I shook my head immediately.I knew my husband by now. I could guess what he wanted from me, but I waited for him to say it. Michael never did any nice things for me unless he wanted something in return, and this wasn't
Chapter 46Take Me Home.Lyla Atelo.Sage did not say anything until the car came to a stop in a luxurious shopping mall where he went back to driving mode, parking the car at the exclusive parking lot. He stepped out to open the car for me, taking my arm in his."What are you doing? Where are we going? Why are we here?" I asked him even if I could guess what exactly it was that we were doing here."Shopping." He shrugged. "I saw on the internet that you should take a woman shopping when she is angry. It— ""But I'm not angry. Why would I be?"He gave me a quick look before shutting the car. "Yeah, right, you aren't. But I'm here to apologise anyway."Amidst my protests, Sage had his arms hooked around mine until we reached one of the most expensive jewellery stores in the city."Pick anything you'd like. Diamonds. Gold. Silver. Precious stones. Anything." He said as he signalled one of the sales assistants to come over. The girl gave me a once-over, and she did not hide her displeasu
Chapter 45In The Car.Lyla Atelo."Get In the car, Lyla." Sage's voice came in a little stronger this time as he looked over my shoulders. "Unless you want your colleagues to keep speculating that something is going on between us."Our eyes met when he said that, and I paused to think. Did he also have in mind the same question I had? I wanted to ask if there was actually something going on between us, but I didn't dare voice my question out. I didn't want to sound desperate, but still... something that Michelle said earlier egged me at the back of my mind."What do you think about Ivy?" I averted my gaze from his face and looked down to the tarred road. I looked everywhere else but at him. "Is it true you're into older women, and I'm just one of your conquest?"I suddenly felt the cold night wind hit my skin, and I looked up in alarm to see Sage backing away from him. He stared at me with an emotion I couldn't decipher before spinning his car key between his thumb and index finger.
