Talia's POV

"Talia?" my mother calls as she enters my room.

"Yeah, Mom?" I nod and sit up straight on the floor, wiping my tears.

She purses and then comes closer, to sit beside me. "I want you to have this," she says, handing me a small, worn book. "I think it will be helpful." she voices.

I take the book from her, and I immediately recognize it. It's my grandmother's recipe book, filled with old, recipes, which each is a memory of love. I happily flip through the pages. "Thanks, Mom," I say.

"You've always found comfort in cooking. It's time for you to own this book. I remember my mother told me, specifically, that it's yours, and I will see the sign when it's time for you to own it. Now's the time.," she informs, looking right into my eyes and I think I understand what she's trying to communicate.

I nod, tracing the faded ink on one of the pages. "It's been a while since I looked at this," I say slowly, having no intention of making anyone else hear me.

I ask, curious to know why he is outside calling me when he can just come into my room and say whatever he wishes to say. And then I remember Jason always tours the Pack at night, claiming he's learning to hunt like other wolves in the Pack. Dad has always been against this, and that's why he always sneaks out."I need you to come with me. I want to show you something." He says gesturing for me to come out through the window."Are you crazy, Jason? Do you want to get me killed after all I've been through today?" "Trust me, you're not going to die. I'll catch you." He assures sounding sure as if he's truly capable of holding me."I promise I will strangle you if this is not worth it. I swear Jackson. Talia's POV Jason and I don't bother looking back to see whose voice we heard. "One, two, three...run," I scream, and we both start to run towards the house."Why are you running, you fools," I hear the voice say, running after us. "Wait up, Talia," the voice stops me in my tracks. "Wait Jason, it's Selena," I announce after confirming she is the one behind the voice we've been running from all this while."What are you doing here, Serena? Why did you startle us like that? I nearly ran mad from fear you know." I yell.Gasping from the race, Serena says, "I didn't mean to do that; I just wanted to announce my presence, I never knew you'd take off like you were trespassers for real," Serena says, trying to catch her breath. "I'm leaving tomorrow," I announce not even thinking about the aftermath of my decision."Tomorrow?" Jason and Selena chorus, surprised at my sudden decision. "Are you serious, Talia? Have you given this a real thought? Where to?""I've made my decision, Selena.

Talia's POV The night is creeping in, and I'm completely worn out. I've been walking all day, and the second day is about to wrap up. I keep feeling hungry, but the only thing I can find is some tart fruit to snack on. I'm seriously considering heading back home, just to put up with the teasing and everything. I’ll eat well, plus I’ve got a comfy bed waiting for me back home.I haven't seen a single soul since I have been walking. I don't see any towns, clear areas, or even a shabby structure to find some shelter and catch my breath. The woods are getting dangerous as I walk. I was starting to lose it, but there was no turning back; I had to keep moving forward. My stomach keeps growling, and I look all over for something to eat but only find some pine nuts. What options do I have? I eat hungrily and settle under a tree for the night.Morning came in no time, and I continued my journey. Walking a few feet forward, I see a clearing in front. "Looks like a town is ahead," I mutter and

"Talia, George needs you more than ever now, you can't let him down," I mutter."Stay calm," I pat his back and turn to face the so-called group. "What do you want from him?" I ask slowly coming out of the house. They shift back fearfully. I guess they never expected to see me there. The last boy was about to take off when I grabbed him by his clothes."Tell me one reason why I should not strangle you right now?" My words stop others in their tracks, and they gaze eyes wide, probably trying to see what will become of their friend. "Hun? You're not going to say anything?" The boy shivers in my grips. "Please don't, I beg you, we will never come here again." His hands are pleading for his freedom because he's almost choking from my grip. "Ok, fine. I'll spare you but on one condition. Tell me why

Bella's POVBless the Moon Goddess for choosing Talia, I didn't even have to lift a finger. For a long time, I dreamed of being Brian's Luna. But he was always waiting on the Goddess damn it, "destined mate" he believes so much in that nonsense, but in the end, it's the last laugher who has the upper hand. Looks like returning to him was a good idea after all. Bran is so soft-hearted, or do I say dumb? He knew I left him for Lucian, the Moonlight Pack Alpha, and that idiot dared to die on me after planting his seed in me. All I needed was some fake tears, which were not too far from my eyes. I blinked twice and they came rushing out."You know I don't ever want to see your tears, Bella. Wipe your tears, I have forgiven you." He said and I wiped my fake tears. "There's something I want to tell you. Bella," he continues, pulling me closer to himself and holding my shoulders with his two hands. Dave stays here with his Grandma, and to the best of my knowledge, we go around sorting for leftovers. How could he have gotten money to cook such a delicious meal?"Suddenly, an idea pops up and we both look at each other in surprise. "The Money in the bag!!!" We chorus again rushing into the hut. There, Dave is sitting happily, eating a bowl of freshly cooked rice. Dave freezes seeing me and George. I don't waste any time in dragging him up with his clothes, "The only thing I need you to provide right now is my bag, or you consider yourself dead." "I need to proceed with the journey." I can't stay here despite the peace and love I enjoy. This place is just too small for me to reside. My concern now is how to tell George and Dave; they are already getting used to me, and I promise to always be there for George."Dave," I call slowly; we are sober now thanks to hunger, except for Dave, who had eaten with his Grandmother earlier. "Don't you think your Grandmother needs you now?" I say slowly. His face lit up, and then he frowns, probably realizingfrowneduld have to leave me. The scene before me amazes me, but I compose myself quickly so he won't notice I'm as surprised as they are. Are the soups supposed to be doubling? The thought crosses my mind. The name of the soup calls my attention to the reason this is happening. It is called Enchanted Stew of Plenty, which explains it better. I smile, meeting the owner's gaze as he gazes at me surprisingly, and then back to the plates of soups. "Serve the guests now, please. It will take a long time before it finishes." I say, shoulders high and feeling myself for a job well done. The more the staff serve, the more the soup increases, and in no time, the Inn is filled with soups here and there, and everywhere is filled with food. And keeping chaos chained at the edge of the world. And yet, even now, even with the full strength of the Dark Council bent beneath my voice, my mind lingers elsewhere.Bella.Her name lingers like a thorn in my breath. It's distracting.I remember the first time I saw her. She was clearly broken, but not crushed. That's the type of woman I like. A young woman with fire behind her betrayal. Most who betray their pack run with shame and regret. But she held no regret. Only bitterness, and hunger-for power, recognition and for something more than what the Starlight Pack ever allowed her to be.She was cast out after her deception-the foolish plot to replace Bran's fated mate with a rogue's child in disguise. A gamble as bold as it was stupid. And when it failed, she expected death. Instead, she wa

The Moonstone glows faintly on her chest, and she grazes it with her fingers. It feels warm and ticking, like her heartbeat. The light around her shifts, pulling itself into a straight path which leads her on as she takes cautious steps. After walking on air for some seconds, the golden air fades, and she finds herself in a clearing ringed by tall glass walls. She was once a powerful wolf. Now, just a spirit. But still dangerous and still strong. I guess that's my mistake. I should have ended her life that night. I shouldn't have locked her spirit up. "You walked without permission," I say. My tone is calm, but it has a warning behind it. "Again."She lets out a dry laugh. "I don't belong to you."We keep walking. The torches along the walls flicker more brightly as she passes. Even fire respects her. That's always been the case."No," I object. "But you are bound here. You should know your boundaries. The hall glows, a hint of her presence. The old runes on the walls emit a dim shimmer-not bright enough to chase away shadows, but enough to remind me that I'm not alone down here. I sit with my back against the cold stone wall, my legs stretched before me and one foot bouncing softly in rhythm with the whispers in my head. The whispers never stopped since she returned. Or let's say since she had been aware of my presence here.I remember once being brave and knowing who I was. Now I count moments by the number of breaths I can take before my past claws its way into my thoughts. And just like every time before, here she comes. Her voice reaches me before her form does-soft, low, and carried like wind through bone."You remember more than you should."It echoes through the hall like it's soaked in moonlight. • My Alpha Mate Rejected Me: He Says I'm A Misfit   Flashes of A Broken Trial

POV: The Old Keeper (The New Seer)I was meant to be the Stone Keeper. I was chosen right before birth. So says my grandmother. My parents were killed because they weren't supposed to bring me to life. But it happened somehow and they got punished for it. The stone started calling to me when I was young. I heard its voice, felt its pull and sometimes touched it. But that was in my dreams. I was happy, and proud or maybe the right word is overjoyed to be the chosen one.The Moon Goddess chose me. Not because someone told her to, or because I asked. The stone chose me itself. So I heard. I stood alone on Starlight Crest, high above the land, with the wind pushing at my back. The light of the moonstone reached out to me, surrounding me. I felt its warmth settle inside my chest. At that moment, I truly believed I had found my purpose.I was proud and brave. Maybe even foolish. That night, everything changed.I was meant to complete the trials to become the official Keeper. I had already

Aunt MerleComing back to Misfit Town without being seen was never simple. But this time, it was more than just secrecy-I couldn't let anyone see me carrying the stone. Only the one meant to carry its power should lay eyes on me right now. That's why I used the bone ash spell. Just enough to hide myself from the senses of others. The magic made sound slip away from me and light bent around me. It wasn't perfect. But it was enough.I moved quietly past the outer trees of the town just before sunrise, the stone wrapped tightly in moon cloth and held close to my chest. It wasn't heavy, not in the usual way, but it throbbed with heat and energy-like it had its heartbeat. It didn't feel human. It didn't feel alive. But it was something old. Ancient. With each step closer to the heart of the town, the air changed. It started to hum softly. Like the ground and the trees could sense what I was bringing. Like the town itself was deciding if I should be allowed in.The streets and homes hadn't
