The pack enforcer

Camilla POV

" Maybe you are right that I am getting things wrong but the smile on the Alpha's face when he instructed me to fetch you for breakfast is undeniable. He looks happy, something he rarely does." Tessa reveals.

" Now, let's stop chatting and head to the dining room or the Alpha will be worried." She adds, gesturing to me to take the lead. I don't bother saying a word. I mean, what am I even supposed to say? Deny everything? I don't even know what I am doing with my life anymore, talk less of starting anything with another man.

As I walk down the hallway to the designated dining room,my mind hums with thoughts. Gina and Alex were right, Logan is a nice man. If I were to choose a chosen mate to marry and start a family with,he Is the perfect choice. But here comes the problem; I don't feel anything for him. They say that the feelings of love can be cultivated, that it's okay if one partner loves the other more. I don't share the same opinion. A relationship built on one sided love is bound to crash. Look at what happened between me and Hector. As someone who suffered from loving someone who doesn't share the same sentiments with me,I'll never put someone in those shoes for anything.

Tessa ushers me inside a double door. My eyes scan inside and I see him where he is waiting. He flashes me a smile and I return with my own. Tessa excuses herself, leaving the room. Now,it's just me and Logan.

" Come,sit with me." He offers,walking and pulling the chair opposite me.

I thank him and settle down. Logan returns to his chair and resumes his earlier position.

" Good morning Logan." I greet him with a smile.

" Good morning Camilla,how was your night?" He asks.

" It was a good one. The bed was comfortable. I almost didn't want to wake up.Thank you."

" I'm glad you liked it. I was worried you wouldn't be comfortable spending the night outside your pack." Logan replies.

" You outdid yourself with the arrangement. I slept like a little baby. I'm afraid I'd want to stay here much longer just to enjoy peaceful nights on a comfortable bed." I joke. Logan chuckles.

" You can stay here for as long as you want. I don't mind taking you under my wing. If anything,I'll be honoured to have you be a part of the moon lake pack." Logan suddenly declares and I almost choke on my saliva.

" Thanks for the offer but..." I start but Logan cuts me off.

" Just leave it at that. I don't want to hear your first rejection so early In the morning." He dramatically declares,waving his hands in the air. I chuckle.

" Who said I was about to reject you?" I ask. Of course that's what I was about to do but hearing him figure it out so fast made me change my mind.

" It's written all over your face." Logan answers. I roll my eyes at him and he laughs.

" Let's get something in our stomach before we talk some more. I can't wait to introduce you to my female warriors." Logan says,calling a server who has been waiting by the corner of the room. She pours him his coffee,which he takes. She then turns to me.

" Would you like some juice or tea?" She asks.

" Coffee please." I answer. She nods and pours me a cup too. It feels weird being served but after what Tessa told me before,I decide not to protest. That doesn't mean I won't talk to Logan about the whole servant thing. While our pack has omegas who keep everything running in the pack,we don't call them servants. They are helpers and get paid for their services to the pack.

After breakfast, Logan leads me to the training ground where the female warriors are already waiting for me. He introduces me to them before leaving me to my task. At first,they seem a bit shy around me. It's obvious that they didn't expect to be doing what they are doing now. However,after some time,I manage to get them relaxed.

I start by getting to know each of them and their strengths. The training starts off with simple exercises before we go on to practice sparring. I take note of each person's progress and what I can do to help them improve.

While we train,I realise that most of them have the strength and skills but lack the confidence. That's where I can come in and help. They need to believe in themselves and stop holding back.

" Great work ladies! I must say,this has been a very productive training." I praise them after the training is over. With three days more to train,I believe I would have managed to pull them from their shells.

" Thank you Lady Camilla. It's an honour for us to be trained by the alpha's special guest." One of the females responds.

" No,it's an honour for me to be in the presence of strong women like yourselves. I believe in you all and I hope you will give your best in the next few days."

They thank me once again before leaving the training ground. I watch as they walk away with smiles on their faces.

It's almost noon when I finish my training session. Tired and sweaty,I start making my way back to my room when someone's voice stops me.

" Do you think this is the life of a woman?" I turn around to face the person.

" Excuse me?" I ask.

" They are ladies after all. They can't handle heavy training. A female being a warrior sounds like a farfetched plan." He replies and I narrow my gaze at him. What I hate the most is such deprecating comments coming from a grown ass man.

" Are you perhaps looking down on them?" I ask, seeking clarity. The frown on my face deepens when the man starts laughing.

" I just spoke the truth. Don't try and twist my words."

" If that's the truth according to you then you are nothing but a snob. Women are stronger than they are given credit for. They are more than capable of being warriors if that's what they desire. They just need someone to believe in them and guide them. If they can carry a pup for months and deliver them safely, what's fighting in battle compared to that?" I respond.

" You are wrong,young lady." The man counters, walking towards me.

" Oh yeah ? Then enlighten me.how am I wrong?"

" Women are weak, their bodies are weak. That's why they can only make to be mothers and servants .They are not fit for war. They don't have the strength or the wits needed in a battle." He says,looking down at me with an evil smirk.

" That's coming out from a person who was birthed by a woman is low and pathetic. If your mother was weak, doesn't that make you weak too? After all, you came from a weak body.” I counter with a smirk.

The man's expressions darken and I catch a glint in his eyes.

“ Are you insulting me?” He bellows. I laugh, humorously.

“ Me? Insulting you? You insulted yourself. I understand why those ladies seemed afraid to give their best. With people like you hovering around, spitting such venomous words, of course they would lose confidence in themselves.” I spat .

“ That brings me to, why are you so bitter and scared of seeing ladies perform? Scared that they'll surpass your strength?” I mock with a smile.

“ That's nonsense. I am an Alpha blood, why would I be scared of some lowly omegas.” He sneers. Hearing his words,a realization strikes me. So this is… the pack Enforcer?
