Chapter Thirty-Four

“I hate all of you!” I screamed repeatedly as the guards dragged me roughly to my cell. My skin brushed violently against the ground because I was resisting. “Leave me alone!” I screamed at the guards while I kicked.

I was finally thrown into my cell. The little fire that was in it was taken away and I was locked up in the dark. I kept screaming and banging on the door for hours, but nobody came.

I knew the stunt I pulled was a bold one, I knew I had insulted the seat of the Luna, but I didn't care. For years I have been made to suffer. I was twenty years old, but I looked like I was sixty. My skin was wrinkly and old. I had burns from the sun and wound marks from excessive work and punishment. Why was I treated like that? Ever since I knew myself, I had been a slave to the Luna and her family. I was born into captivity, I didn't know my mother nor my father and whenever I asked anyone, they would not reply because the Luna had ordered that no one spoke my mother's name.
