Chapter Twenty-Nine

“I can not do what the Luna said I should do, No!” I cried while curled up in my cell, “I can not bring my child into a world of mockery from this rumour I am about to spread, No!” I wearily got up and started using my hand to feel the wall of the dark cell. I tried to get to the hidden place where I and Fagel had stored our tools for escape. I was going to escape. Although I had discarded a few tools due to fear of being cut, I still had the map and notes on the guard routines. I was going to escape by hook or crook.

I heard a blonde-haired girl gasp as I worked on my portion in the field. “He is dead!?” she asked her friend during their discussion, “How did you know?”

“ I saw people gathered in front of his house and his wife was crying, so I decided to check” her friend who had brunette hair responded, “Garn was such a good man, he suffered a lot,” she sighed

“Garn is dead?” I asked them in a high-pitched voice so they could hear me. They both looked at me with visible scorn
