Chapter 298

Nathan:

It was a mix of anger and desire as I watched her take her seat at my desk. I hadn’t seen her for almost four days and the fact that she could have gotten in so much danger made me tense. I gripped my trousers so tight that my knuckles almost turned white.

Her eyes avoided mine. I caught her hugging the new manager and I can’t say that I was happy. No one could blame me. Our run-in with our last manager was enough reason for me to be on guard with her. And besides, she didn’t tell me that she knew this guy.

“So where are we going to start from?” I asked, taking a deep breath. “The hug with the manager or your meeting with Dakota?”

Her lips trembled. She opened them and then closed them. My eyes fell on them. I still wanted to kiss her. As mad as I was, I still wanted to kiss her again. She belonged to me and I wasn’t going to let anyone take her away from me.
