Enora:
Shit, shit. What the hell was I doing? That was so fucking embarrassing. I facepalmed myself. You need to fucking get a grip, Enora! I yelled at myself. This is your big break, you can't afford to lose your job, yes, your boss is hot but he's also your best friend's father. Get that through your head. I spent the next couple of minutes trying to pep talk myself into facing my boss one more time. I wondered if he'd noticed that I had been waiting for him to kiss me. I was still trying to get myself in the kind space when my phone rang. It was an alarm that I had set. It was time to go. I quickly called the driver and asked if he was downstairs. He was. I opened the door and found Mr. Wright in front of my door about to knock. "Sir," I said a little too loudly. "Your um, 10.0 clock meeting is…" "I know, is Fredrick here now?" He asked. "Yeah, he is downstairs." "Good, hurry up and let's go." He said, I nodded, took my bag from the couch, and followed him out the door and into the hallway. The drive to the meeting was longer than expected and Mr. Wright didn't mention anything about my inappropriate behavior earlier which gave me a little hope that he hadn't noticed my hungry looks at him. He seemed to usually be completely oblivious when it came to me and I wasn't sure whether to be sad about it or be relieved. We pulled up in front of a five-story building that had a huge spelling of Ms Patel Mad Co. boldly written on it. We made our way into the building and up the elevator. A receptionist greeted us as soon as the Elevator door opened. She took one look at Mr Wright and I could see myself in her, she was immediately enthralled just like I was the first time. Mr. Wright gave her a look and she quickly came to her senses. "Right this was, Mr. Wright . I'll show you to your um room, I mean, I'll show me to your… shit. I'll show you to Ms Patel's office." I wanted to laugh so bad but that would mean laughing at myself too. Mr. Wright smiled at her to my surprise. "Lead the way," The receptionist turned around but not before I saw her flushed and embarrassed face. We followed her into a side hallway and stopped in front of a door that had conference written on it. She knocked on the door, Opened it a second later, and let us in. It was a conference room and a beautiful woman that looked to be in her fifties sat at the head of the chair. Two other men were seated and they immediately stood to shake Mr. Wright 's hands, welcoming him. "Have a seat, Mr. Wright , and…" The younger man looked up at me for my name. “Miss Lopez," I shook his hand. "I'm Mr. Wright 's assistant." "I see. Have a seat then." "So,” Ms Patel started, **** Mr. Wright 's gaze pierced through the room as he stood before Ms. Patel, his presence commanding attention and making me go completely ferrell with need "I trust you're aware of the gravity of this meeting, Ms. Patel," he began, his voice low and even. "The future of sustainable practices hangs in the balance, and I believe our companies hold the key to unlocking it." Ms. Patel's eyes narrowed slightly, but she maintained her composure. "I'm aware of the potential benefits, Mr. Wright . But I must consider the interests of EcoCycle Corp." Ms. Patel's voice was soothing and soft. It almost felt like she was trying to seduce Mr. Wright with it and I didn't know how I felt about that. They'd been talking for the last thirty minutes now and I had been doing everything in my power to concentrate but it had been a complete failure because all I could do was stare at Mr. Wright as he commanded the room with feral grace. Mr. Wright's smile was a thin, calculated line. "Ah, but that's where you're mistaken, Ms. Patel. This isn't merely a business proposition – it's a necessity. The market is shifting, and those who fail to adapt will be left behind. I'm offering you a lifeline, one that will ensure EcoCycle's relevance in the years to come." Ms. Patel's expression remained guarded, but a flicker of curiosity danced in her eyes. "Go on." Mr. Wright 's voice took on a persuasive quality, his words dripping with conviction. "Together, we can create a behemoth of sustainability, a force that will reshape the industry. But I won't be ignored, Ms. Patel. I expect a commitment, and a willingness to take bold action. Anything less would be...unacceptable." The air seemed to thicken, heavy with the weight of Mr. Wright 's expectations. Ms. Patel's gaze faltered, and for an instant, she seemed to shrink under the intensity of his stare. Then, her shoulders squared, and she met his gaze with a quiet determination. "I'll need to review the proposal, Mr. Wright . But I'm willing to listen." Mr. Wright 's smile returned, a cold, calculating thing. "Excellent. I'll have my team send over the details. I expect a decision within the next two weeks, Ms. Patel. Don't keep me waiting." "Of course." Ms Patel said with a nod. Mr. Wright stood up, shook her hands, and gestured for me to follow him. We got to the hotel twenty minutes later with me more lustful over him than I had been this morning. Watching him at the meeting today made me feel a more feral need for him. He was so elegant yet so roguish. His commanding voice and intimidating aura made me want him even more. I wanted him so much that it hurt to think about "Welcome back Mr. Wright ." The receptionist waved at him as we passed her. "Thanks, Claudia." He said without looking at her and made his way into the elevator. We rode up without him saying anything to me as usual. We got into the penthouse and he dropped his suitcase on the floor I picked it up quickly and placed it on the coffee table, watching as he took off his jacket. "Um, do you have something specific you'd like for lunch sir?" I asked. He glanced at me, dropping his jacket on the couch. "Just call room service and let them know it's me, they'll know what to bring up." "Yes, sir," "Bring the food to my office when it arrives," "Okay, sir." I nodded and watched as he walked towards his room, probably to shower. Without wasting time, I picked up the intercom and called room service. They picked up at the first ring. "Hello, This is Miss Lopez, Mr. Wright 's assistant. He'd like his lunch now." I said into the phone. "Right, we'll bring it right up in twenty minutes " A male voice answered. "Alright, Thank you so much." I hung up and put the phone back on its cradle. I arranged Mr Wright 's briefcase on the dinner table and went inside my room to take a quick shower. I was done in ten minutes. I put on gray sweatpants and a shirt and made my way out of my room. Just as I did, I heard someone knocking and I immediately knew it was room service and went to open the door. A young man about my age dressed impeccably and smiled at me. "Here's Mr. Wright 's lunch." He said and I opened the door wider for him to roll in the trolley of food. "Thank you…" I frowned, trying to read the name on his name tag. "... Karim," he supplied. "Thank you, Karim." "You are welcome." He smiled. "Enjoy your meal." "Will do." I smiled and walked him to the door before closing it behind him. I rolled the trolley over to Mr. Wright 's office. As soon as I got to the front of the door, I took a deep breath and knocked. "Come in," Mr. Wright 's muffled voice came through and I opened the door and rolled the trolley of food over to where he sat looking all bossy and intimidating. He was on the phone, speaking to someone I assumed to be a business associate. "Sir," your lunch. I whispered. He tilted his head to the side as if telling me to arrange the food on his desk. I did as he told me. I placed each dish on the desk. How did he plan on eating all of this? "Make me a cup of tea," he said, closing the mouthpiece of his phone to speak to me. "Yes, sir." Thankfully there was a bag of tea. I took the bag of tea to the kitchen and boiled a kettle of water. Once I was done, I made the tea and took the cup of tea back to the study to find he'd gotten off the call. I made my way to him and carefully dropped the cup of tea on the table. "Enjoy your meal, sir," I said to him and started to walk away when he stopped me. "Have lunch with me, Enora," Shocked by his request, I turned around to look at him but the speed at which I had turned around had made me miss my steps. My hand hit the opened table water and it fell directly on Mr. Wright , splattering all over his crotch area. Shit!Enora:The kids began to run around the house, screaming at the top of their lungs. I laughed as they chased each other, screaming and toppling over like little dominoes on legs. It had been about three years, and every time I remember those three years, I was filled with so much pain and agony, but there were some rays of hope. I stopped typing and admired the ring on my finger. A beautiful red garnet that had Sapphires and Diamonds around it. It still dazzled me even though I had worn it for three years. Soon, a car pulled into the driveway, and all the kids stopped their laughter and ran to the door, pressing their faces up against the window.“Daddy,” they all said in unison, watching him through the frosted glass, still not tall enough to see through the clear one. It had been three years, and I was still so happy to see Nathan when he came back from work, but now, I had the kids to rival with. The handle turned, and just before he could put his leg through the door, they swa
Nathan:I headed back to the police station with a new worry in mind. My hands trembled, and my breathing was fast and ragged. My phone was buzzing in my hand, and on the screen, I saw a text from Ross.“We have Bridget's. She is in the questioning room waiting for you.”I swallowed hard and stuffed my phone back into my pocket. Reading the message over and over again gave me butterflies, nervous butterflies in my tummy. What I was going to do was simple. Bridget only had to tell me that she wasn't directly involved in Dakota's plans and everything was going to be all right. I just wanted to know that she had no hand in killing my baby. I knew what it was, Dakota, and all I wanted to do was pin this on her. I didn't want to bring Bridget into any more drama. She had been involved in enough.I got to the police station and headed to room 47B, the room Ross had kept Bridget in. Each step there made me tremble. I even had to stop halfway just to catch my breath and reassure myself everyt
Nathan:I left the office, trying my best to put on my brave face.“RoseVine hospital,” I told the driver, even though I didn't need to.He stepped on the gas as soon as he sped down the road towards the hospital.I couldn't lie, my mind was still oscillating, still worried, but one thought made everything worth it. The thought of Enora, sitting up with a smile on her face, waiting for me and our baby, safe and sound. Our baby? I only hoped that it was okay. She was bleeding between her legs, and for a pregnant woman, that was never a good sign.It didn't take long before we got to the hospital, and I got out, each step closer, making my heart race even faster by trying my best to keep my cool. I walked up to the receptionist, and she looked up, remembering me from a few hours ago.“I'm here to see Miss Enora Lopez,” I said, trying my best not to stutter my words, no matter how nervous I was.“I see, but the doctors are still attending to her, and you can't see her right now. I sugg
Nathan:I was asked to stay there with Jasper and... Jasper while Ross and his officers went to the front desk to pull up the files. The first Jasper, from my office, was horrified and furious.Even if his wrists weren't cuffed, he would definitely have punched this other Jasper in the face.On the contrary, the other Jasper was quiet. Sitting by himself, eyes lowered, fingers interlocked with each other, unwilling to breathe even a word.I tried to get a good look at his face, but he refused to lift his head.So much was going on, and I had no idea what to do about any of it.It took several minutes before Ross and the other two officers showed up.“We pulled up their files, but it turns out that both of them have identical files and documents.”“This is identity theft!” Jasper yelled out, almost lunging from his chair towards the other Jasper, but the two officers held him down. “They cannot be someone who looks exactly like me, has the same name as me and has all the same credentia
Nathan:I scooped Enora in my arms, her blood staining my suit, but I didn't care. I placed my ear on her chest, my fingers trembling against his skin. Her heart was beating very faintly, and she was barely breathing. My phone buzzed in my pocket, and with one hand, I was able to fish it out. It was a text from the chief investigator.“The DNA that we found belongs to a certain Jasper who is said to be working at your office.”My jaw dropped. It all made sense now. Dakota was the one who was masterminding the raids on my warehouses, and she was using Jasper to get her dirty work done.I glared at him, but he looked just as pale as I was, but Dakota didn't even budge, turning her head the other way and playing Candy Crush on her phone.I rushed out of my office to the lobby. People gasped seeing me with Enora bleeding in my arms.“Make sure that the manager, Jasper, doesn't leave this place,” I instructed the security guards before I carried Enora into the car and zoomed off.Her skin
Enora:I was happy that I was going to be able to get ready to go to work with Nathan this time around. The past few days, going alone was such a bummer, and it was refreshing to finally be able to button up his shirt in the morning without feeling sad that he was leaving me again.I stood by the door waiting for him, my feet moving. I just couldn't keep still; I was just so excited. It didn't take long before he joined me, put his arms around me, pulled me close and kissed me on my forehead.“Someone is looking very excited,” he teased, tapping my nose, and I blushed a cute pink.“Why wouldn't I be excited?’ I asked. “Do you know how much I have missed going to work with you?”He bent down and kissed me softly on the lips, and I leaned into him, enjoying the taste of breakfast on his lips.“I miss going to work with you, too,” he said softly. The driver was waiting for us outside with the car door open. We got in, holding hands and looking so in love. Today was supposed to be the day
