"Your men were bullying me. I only responded to their abuse," she murmured against his chest, her voice small against the crackle of the fire. Seated on his lap, she felt the quiet night pressing in, calm and unhurried. There was something in the air, something very pure and sacred, that erased every trace of the resentment that had once stood between them. In each other’s arms, they found an unfamiliar peace. Far removed from the world, beyond its rights and wrongs, its duties and demands. It was only them, stripped down to their bare, unguarded feelings. For once, they set aside their worldly roles and yielded to their heart's longing.

"I'll hang those bastards upside down for bullying you," he promised, pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of her head.

"No need," she said. "I can handle them."

Sean’s lips curved into a soft smile. “I know,” he said, fingers idly combing through her damp hair. “You’re not the one who needs saving. People need saving from you.” His playful jab ea

  • My Beta Charming   Maidservant

"She is human. You are fortunate she came out of that with only minor injuries, after being dragged like that," the healer told the driver, her tone edged with concern. The man swiped a hand across his forehead, anxiety flickering in his eyes."She would be fine, right?" the man asked.. She looked like a beggar, disheveled and weak. He had been reckless while driving and hadn’t seen her until it was too late. "Yes," The healer replied, dressing his wound. "You should inform the authority about her," the healer suggested. The authority showed up within an hour and surveyed Violet. As she was in the territory of the Silverpine pack, they couldn't recognize her and thought of her as another beggar. They waited until she was awake and started their inquiry with her. "Who are you?" Steve, the guard, asked her. "Violet," she replied quietly."Are you homeless?" he asked. Violet nodded. "Do you want to file a report against the driver?" the guard asked. "No," Violet responded. She di

  • My Beta Charming   Coming Back

TEN MONTHS LATERThe woman reached out with her trembling hand and grabbed the half-eaten bun from the dustbin. She tore at it ravenously, not letting a single crumb go to waste. It had been days since she had eaten anything. Snow had fallen yesterday, and the biting gusts had kept her from sleeping. Life on the streets was brutal, but she would still choose it over that other hell.Violet pulled the cloak over her eyes, hiding them as she rummaged through the trash for something else to eat. Finally, she spotted a crushed tetrapack, nearly empty, wedged in the corner. She seized it and clawed it open with grimy, jagged nails and drank greedily, swallowing every last drop. Tears welled up in her eyes as she caught her reflection in the glass door of a nearby store. From her matted hair to her torn sleepers, she looked nothing like her former self. She was exhausted from running and hiding, but she had no choice. Zen’s men must already have their eyes on her hut. Go back there, and it

  • My Beta Charming   Ayla

The woman echoed his word. A blush tinted her cheeks as she stared at him, anticipating the next move. But Sean remained frozen in his spot. His wolf was more confused than excited. hell, there was no excitement, just this cold realisation that the woman before him was his mate. His mate? "Whoa..." Azriel stood up, a smile forming on his face as he looked between the two in realisation. “The woman waited for him to come to her, but when he didn’t, she hesitantly made her way toward him. Sean, still shocked, retreated a step before spinning on his heels and rushing off. The woman stopped in her tracks, confused. Azriel frowned in disapproval. He finally found his mate, but instead of accepting her, he ran like a coward. "I'll be back," Azriel told the woman before marching out of his office. He searched for him and finally found him inside his car. He was seated behind the wheel, body tensed up.Azriel knocked at the window and said, "Get out."Sean opened the door and climbed ou

  • My Beta Charming   Efforts To Get Back

"None can step into his realm unless Zen allows it," a witch disclosed. They had been looking for a way to break into Zen's realm, but no success had been achieved till now. Each witch they sought out echoed the same grim truth. Zen wasn’t just any wizard, he was the unannounced king of magic. And he would remain so, unchallenged, until King Aurilious returned to reclaim his rightful throne."There has to be a way," Sean pressed, starting to lose his calm now. Zen was no longer just a threat; he was his sworn enemy now, an ugly thorn in his side. And Sean was determined to uproot him, no matter the cost. He will avenge Nixon and others. He wouldn't let their sacrifice go to waste. The witch thought for a moment. "Only King Aurilious, if alive, can break his spells," she said, after pondering. His jaw twitched in frustration. Finding Aurilious was just as difficult as finding the portal, if not more. "You can go now," Azriel commanded the woman. The witch left after sketching a bow t

  • My Beta Charming   Throes Of Separation

Sean gazed blankly at the ceiling as the healer tended to his wound. Kael had returned, but he, too, had lost his zeal. He had shut himself away in his shell, mourning something that had never truly been his.Why did she do it?The images of them leaning in for a kiss kept replaying in his head, each replay cutting deeper than the last. She let that fuckface kiss her. He kissed her, his lips where only Sean’s should have been. The betrayal seared through him like poison in his veins, deadly and merciless. How could she do this to him? How could she give away what he thought belonged to them alone? He had believed what they shared was something rare, something true. But now it all felt like a cruel lie, mocking him with every breath he drew. She might as well have driven a sword into his chest rather than do this to him. That would have hurt far less. What did that piece of shit even have that he didn't? A hand settled on his shoulder, pulling him out of his gloomy thoughts. He look

  • My Beta Charming   Letting Go

Her heart cracked wide open when she saw him lying in a pool of his own vomit, motionless. Guilt slashed through her chest, tears blurring her vision. The man who had risked his life for hers without thinking was now wounded beyond mercy on the cold stone floor. She pushed the cell door open and slipped inside. The foul reek of death struck her so hard it nearly smothered her lungs, but she paid it no mind. Her only focus was on him. She dropped to her knees beside his unconscious form, her hands trembling as they hovered over his battered body. The blood on his skin had long dried, the wounds clotted and left untended. With his wolf suppressed by Zen, even his natural gift of healing had been stripped away. A tear slipped down her cheek, then another, falling onto his broken skin as if her sorrow could mend what her hands could not. It was her fault, every cut, every bruise, every labored breath. He was suffering because of her, and the weight of that truth crushed her heart. She
