~ISLA~

“That bastard! You should have let me beat him up!” Serena, my best friend said while clenching onto the steering wheel.

I had managed to call her to come get me and I hated that a part of me had wanted to see if Aiden would come out to get me or to explain things better but he never did.

I let out a sigh as I wrapped my arms around myself and rested my head on the car window.

I wanted to cry but the tears weren't coming out anymore. Despite that, it pained me to breathe.

“I knew that girl was a bitch from the start. The two of them need to be sent to jail for what they did to you. Are you okay?” She asked softly after a while of realising I wasn't making a sound.

“I feel so stupid ” I muttered and immediately those words left my mouth, then tears rolled down my cheeks.

“No, don't say test, Isla. You wouldn't have known” She murmured as she grabbed my hand.

“I gave him everything. I have nothing left now, he took everything from me. What… how… I don't even know what to do? Why would he do this to me? Wasn't it enough for him? Did I do something wrong?”

“I'll stop you right there, Isla. Don't you dare blame yourself for his actions. He's a sick man and must have been planning this for years. It has nothing to do with you but a lot to do with that kind of a person he is. You shouldn't even be crying over someone like him” She said as she gave my hand a squeeze and as much as I loved her, even her words couldn't erase the pain in my heart.

“Do you want me to go back and kill him for you? Tristan me, it won't be traced back” She uttered and that made me laugh slightly.

“Just take me home, Serena. I'll be fine, I'll just need to sleep it off” I told her and she sighed then drove in silence.

We got to my apartment complex and she walked me all the way to my door.

“Do you want me to stay with you tonight?” She asked and I turned to her.

“Your mother is in town, you should spend as much time as you can before she leaves. Don't worry, I'll be fine” I told her and she frowned.

“Isla…”

“Goodnight Serena” I unlocked my door, walked in and slowly closed it behind me. I fell to the ground almost instantly as I clenched onto my chest.

Now that I was alone, the tears streamed down my face easily. I let all the pain and anger wash over me as I tried to think of what must have gone wrong?

How could a man I loved for three years do this to me? Did the man I loved not exist?

After he had no more tears to cry, I stood up, peeled the dress off me and told myself I was going to burn it tomorrow before getting into the shower.

I didn't want anything reminding me of the pain I went through today.

I showered, got dressed and hopped straight into bed hoping everything was a nightmare but I knew all too well that the pain I felt was too painful to not be real.

Surprisingly, I fell asleep pretty quickly due to exhaustion.

The next day, even though I didn’t feel like it, I got out of bed and made myself coffee to at least give me a boost of energy. I still hadn’t figured out what to do but I knew I couldn’t rot in bed all day.

I was about to take off my sheer nightgown and hop into the shower when a knock sounded at my door.

The only person it could be was Serena and I knew she was just coming to check up on me so I reluctantly dragged Myself and opened the door only for my eyes to connect with Aiden's.

“Isla…” He called out softly and the sound of his voice immediately broke me out of my trance. He dragged his eyes lustfully down my body and only then did I remember how sheer my gown was.

I tried slamming the door on his face but he was able to step in before I could, closing the door behind him.

He grabbed onto my shoulder, catching me off guard before slamming his lips on mine forcefully.

I used the little strength I had to push away before slapping him across the face.

“Have you no shame? Get out now!” I screamed as I took a few steps away from him.

“I just want to talk…”

“You had plenty of chances to talk last night but all that came out of your mouth was trash. I'm done listening to you so get out!” I screamed but instead of listening, he bolted the door behind him before walking towards him and in that moment, my heart raced.

Aiden has never hit me before but the man I knew and loved wasn't the same man standing in front of me.

“Isla, I still love you…”

“Bullshit Aiden. Does your fucking fiance know you're here? God! My own sister? How could you?” I asked as the pain returned in my chest.

“Even if I explained, you wouldn't understand but I love you, Isla. That is never going to change…”

“Don't. I want nothing to do with you and I never want to see you again. Leave” I told him but he didn't move an inch.

“If you think I'm going to let you leave me, you're wrong. With your inheritance, I'll be crowned The CEO of Diamond Enterprise and no one will be able to look down on Me ever again” He muttered and I frowned.

“I never looked down on you, Aiden” I murmured and his eyes softened. He reached out to touch me again but I moved away.

“You've gotten what you wanted so leave me alone. I'll make sure we never cross parts again. I'll get a new job…”

“No one is going to hire you, I made sure of that” He uttered and my eyes widened.

“What?”

“You have to work for me, Isla. I won't let you go. You can't rely on the money in our joint account, I've wiped that out too” He revealed and my heart literally stopped beating.

“Why are you doing this to me?”

“Because I love you, Isla. Everything I'm doing is for you and I want you to watch me as I rise to the top, I want you to be there. When everything is done, I'll keep my promise, I'll marry you…”

“You bastard! You ruined my life!” I screamed as I pounded my fist on his chest.

“You'll thank me later on, our kids will thank me later on. Once everything is done and once Cassandra hands over her shares, I'll come back for you so sit down and look pretty. I'm giving you the week off but you should start work on Monday” He murmured as he placed a little cash on the table.

“This should sustain you for the week” He murmured and I was dumbfounded. He wasn't even CEO yet and he was already barking around orders?

“I hate you” I muttered and he grinned.

“Also, I loved the dress on you last night. I wish I had the privilege to take it off” He winked and in seconds, he was gone.

I didn’t move from my spot even after minutes went by, still reeling from the damage Aiden had done. He had the air thick with his words and my fury.

I let out a sigh, raking my fingers through my hair as I was about to head back to the bathroom when I heard a knock on the door suddenly.

My jaw tightened.

Un-fucking- believable! That bastard had the nerve to come back?!

I marched to the door, anger boiling over, already reaching for the words I’d been too stunned to say. I flung it open, ready to tear into Aiden—

And froze.

It wasn’t Aiden.

A stranger stood there instead, tall and silent, with the most striking gray eyes I had ever seen. My anger faltered, surprise stealing my breath as those eyes met mine.

Not only that but the Man in front of me was also the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes on. The blood on his suit and face also added a dangerous touch to his Aura.

Wait, blood?

BLOOD!

My eyes widened but before I could say anything, he collapsed on me and I almost fell to the ground due to how heavy he was.

He was about 6’3 which was a huge contrast to my 5’4 self.

“Help” He managed to say and I couldn't understand till I heard a bunch of footsteps bustling down the hall.

By the blood on him, he must have been involved with something shady.

The smart decision to do was probably leave him out there and call the police, let them handle it.

With my track record, I wasn't exactly known for making smart decisions.

I pulled him into my house and he landed on the floor with a thud while I quickly bolted the door behind me.

My heart raced as I heard several footsteps running past my door.

Only when I heard their footsteps receding did I let out a breath I was holding.

The beautiful stranger groaned before his eyes found mine.

“Whatever you do, don't take me to the hospital or call the police” He muttered then passed out.

What the fuck have i gotten myself into?...

~JAXON/RONAN~The entire drive to Pierce Holdings felt suffocating.I couldn’t stop thinking about Isla. The tears hidden behind her smile earlier. The hesitation in her eyes. The way she had looked at me like she was waiting for something.Waiting for the truth.God.I almost told her.Standing there with her in my arms, feeling her heartbeat against mine, I had genuinely almost confessed everything. For one reckless second, I wanted to throw the entire plan away and tell her who I really was.Tell her about my mother.About the revenge.About Ronan Pierce.About every ugly truth I had hidden from her.But fear stopped me again.Because deep down, no matter how much I tried pretending otherwise, I knew the truth could destroy us.And I couldn’t lose her.I physically couldn’t.By the time Louis and I stepped into his office, my head was pounding from the weight of my thoughts.Louis shut the door behind us before tossing a few files onto the desk.“You look terrible,” he muttered.“I

~IVY~I stood in front of the mirror trying to focus on Serena’s voice instead of the war happening inside my head. She was seated dramatically on the edge of the bed behind me, scrolling through outfit ideas on her phone while occasionally glancing up to critique my appearance like her opinion determined the fate of humanity.“No,” she said suddenly, pointing at me. “That top is too cute for a casual girls’ day. You’re making the rest of us look unemployed.”Despite everything weighing on me, a small laugh escaped my lips.“I literally work from home.”“You know what I mean.”I adjusted the hem of my skirt distractedly before looking back at my reflection.Something about me looked different lately.Softer.Happier.More alive.Jaxon had done that to me.Before him, my life had felt like survival. I was constantly exhausted, constantly trying to keep myself together while the world around me kept demanding more from me.But loving Jaxon had changed me.Being loved by him had changed

~AIDEN~The entire company was collapsing right in front of us.And the worst part was that nobody seemed capable of stopping it.Diamond Enterprise had always thrived on fear, influence, and power. Mr. Anderson built his empire by making people believe he was untouchable, but lately, that illusion had started cracking apart piece by piece.Investors were pulling away.Shipments were disappearing.Business partners suddenly wanted distance.Even the employees could feel the tension in the air now. The halls that once carried arrogance and confidence had become suffocatingly tense, filled with whispers and uncertainty.Everyone knew something was wrong. They just didn’t know how bad it truly was yet.Mr. Anderson, however, was completely losing his mind.I stood quietly near the office windows while he paced furiously across the room for what had to be the tenth time in less than an hour. Papers were scattered across the floor from one of his earlier outbursts, and the expensive whiske

~JAXON~My entire body went still at her question. For a second, I genuinely thought I had heard her wrong. The spatula in my hand froze midway as I slowly turned toward her.She sat on the kitchen counter wrapped in one of my shirts, her legs swinging slightly while she watched me carefully. The morning sunlight pouring through the windows illuminated her face so softly that under any other circumstance, I would’ve gotten distracted just staring at her.But right now, my stomach was twisting so violently that I could barely breathe.“…What did you say?” I asked carefully. Her expression didn’t change. She tilted her head slightly before repeating herself.“Have you ever lied to me, Jaxon?”Fuck. The panic that slammed into me was immediate. My mind started racing so fast I could barely keep up with my own thoughts.Did she know?Had someone told her something?Did Aiden find her?Was that what happened in the bathroom last night?Suddenly every strange thing about her behavior since

~ISLA~I jolted awake the moment I felt fingers brushing softly against my cheek. For a few disoriented seconds, I didn’t know where I was. My body felt heavy from lack of sleep, my mind still trapped somewhere between exhaustion and anxiety. Then my eyes slowly adjusted to the pale morning light filtering through the curtains, and my gaze landed on Jaxon. He was crouched beside the couch, his expression filled with concern as he looked at me.The sight of him immediately made something painful twist inside my chest.God.Even now, after everything running through my head, my heart still reacted to him the same way. One look at him and every wall inside me weakened instantly.“Why are you sleeping here?” he asked softly. His voice sounded rough, like he hadn’t slept much either.I pushed myself up slowly, tightening the blanket around my body while trying to gather my thoughts. My head pounded from how little sleep I’d gotten because the entire night had been torture.Every time I clo

~JAXON/RONAN~Something was wrong.I sensed it immediately the second Isla returned to the table. At first glance, nothing looked different. She still smiled when she sat down across from me. She still reached for my hand when I extended it toward her. She still answered whenever I spoke. Anyone else would probably think nothing had changed. But I knew her too well now.The warmth that usually filled her eyes whenever she looked at me had dimmed slightly, replaced by something distant and distracted. Her smile looked strained around the edges, like she was forcing herself to maintain whatever mood she had before she left the table. And the worst part was that she kept avoiding my eyes.Panic settled low in my stomach immediately.I tried not to jump to conclusions. I tried to convince myself that maybe she was tired or overwhelmed or emotional because of how intense the night had been, but something deep inside me refused to calm down.“What happened?” I asked carefully after watching
