The early morning sun rays woke me up first before my alarm.

I slowly sat up and turned off my alarm, feeling weird and sore. I looked down and was surprised that I was completely naked.

What happened last night?

I groaned, massaging my temple with my fingers.

The memories came back before I could finish thinking about it.

“Shit, I fucked him,” I frowned…

Flashbacks of me coming in multiple ways assaulted my mind.

Rhea was going to have a field day when she discovered I slept with her hired Valentine.

Which reminded me, where the hell was he?

I hoped to fuck he was gone…

I checked the alarm on my nightstand and it was almost 7:30.

Shit, I had to get to work as fast as possible.

I couldn't afford to be late. It was my first day.

Sort of, I still had to be approved by my boss but the interviewer had assured me I already had the job.

I hoped to God I did. I needed the job. I couldn't keep on depending on my friends. They didn't mind but I did. I had student loans to take care of too.

I made my way to the bathroom and came out five minutes later and began to dress up.

I was ready in ten minutes.

As I left my apartment, my phone rang and I picked up the call.

“Hello, is this Ms Cameron?”

“Yes, this is she,"

“This is Whitewood Inc. We are calling on behalf of the boss. You were supposed to resume work today, but your flight has been booked; you'll be joining the boss and his secretary in LA. It will be your first assignment. His schedule has been sent to your email. Be in the office before 9am. You will be joining before 10am.’

“But that wasn't our agreement. I can't just go…”

“I know but do you want the job or not?”

“I want the job,”

“Then you'll need to be here soon; the boss is expecting you, and don't worry, you'll be compensated. His assistant didn't arrive today. She was supposed to finally quit next week, but she is in the hospital, and since you are already hired… I'm so sorry for the inconvenience,”

I didn't need to hear more. If I was going to get paid, I was going...

The pay was high after all.

I jumped in a cab and drove down to the building. I arrived at exactly 8:24

“Hello,” I said, walking out of the elevator and towards the receptionist

“Lexi Cameron, right?”

She asked and I nodded.

“Yes,”

“Here are your details for the flight. The boss’s driver will be here in a minute.”

She smiled at me.

“Uh, thanks… I'm not getting kidnapped am I ?” I blurted out, feeling a little weird that my first day on the job was traveling with a boss I had never met.

She gave me a weird look and then chuckled.

“No,”

Her phone suddenly rang, and she picked it up. Nodded at something the person on the other line said before hanging up.

“Your ride is here. Good luck on your first day,” she grinned and I made my way downstairs again.

The driver was standing outside the car, waiting for me.

“Are you the driver?” I asked and nodded.

I stepped into the sleek black car, still trying to piece together the whirlwind of my morning. The driver, a middle-aged man with kind eyes and a professional demeanor, greeted me politely before holding the door open.

"Ms. Cameron, right?" he asked.

I nodded, sinking into the plush leather seat.

The drive to the airport was a blur. I stared out the window, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in my gut. Traveling with my boss on day one? This had to be some kind of initiation—or maybe a test to see if I was ready for the job or if I was actually being abducted. Either way, none of this felt particularly right. How was I supposed to help him as a personal assistant when I had just gotten his schedule.

The driver pulled up to a private terminal at the airport, and my stomach did a flip. Private flights weren’t exactly in my realm of experience.

“Good luck, ma’am,” the driver said as he opened the door for me.

“Thanks,” I muttered, stepping out and clutching my small carry-on bag like a lifeline.

A flight attendant was waiting at the entrance to the jet, her smile professional but welcoming.

"Ms. Cameron, right this way," she said, gesturing for me to board.

The jet was a small but luxurious aircraft, the kind you only saw in movies. Leather seats, polished wood panels, and soft lighting made the interior look like a floating palace.

I found my seat and settled in, glancing around nervously. Thankfully, the boss wasn’t on board yet. The flight attendant handed me a drink, and before I knew it, the engines roared to life.

The two-hour flight to LA felt oddly calm. I spent most of the time mentally preparing myself for whatever lay ahead.

When we landed, a car was already waiting for me on the tarmac. The driver didn’t say much, but the ride to the hotel gave me enough time to rehearse my introduction and go through the Boss schedule.

His name was Mr. Whitewood. I had no idea what he looked like yet but I assumed some greying old man in his 50’s.

They were the only ones audacious enough to request ridiculous situations like this.

The hotel was extravagant—towering glass windows and a marble entrance that screamed wealth. A concierge greeted me at the door and directed me to the penthouse suite, where the boss was apparently waiting.

My heart raced as I stepped out of the elevator and into the suite. It was massive, with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the LA skyline.

I stood, waiting for the boss, fidgeting a little bit.

I quickly took out my phone and sent my location to my friend group chat. In case I was about to be sold as a slave or something.

Just as I sent the message, I heard footsteps walking towards me, I quickly took in several deep breaths and turned around to greet my boss when I froze in place.

Standing just three feet away from me was Richard, the Valentine gigolo I had slept with last night.

“Richard? What are you doing here?” I asked, my cheeks going bright red. What were the odds I would be meeting my one-night stand here?

“Lexi?” His eyes widened, just as surprised as I was.

“Do you work here too?” I asked and he shook his head.

“Well, sort of.”

“You quit your gigolo job?” I asked again, still nervous about meeting my boss.

"Not exactly." He said, eyes unreadable.

"There's a misunderstanding here."

I raised a curious brow at him

"Oh wait. Are you here to service the boss?" I asked, feeling a bit awkward asking.

"No, Lexi. I am your boss. I'm Mr Whitewood."

My jaw collapsed to the ground.

“Excuse me?”

  • My Billionaire Valentine Escort    Chapter 20: Reflection.

Lexi Three long excruciating hours later, Doctor Harrison came out of the operating room, a smile on his face.“Is she okay?” I ran to him, trying to ignore the heavy drumming of my heart.“Yes, your mother is fine. Don't worry.”A sigh of relief escaped my lips and the weight that had been sitting on my chest finally eased up.“So, it was a success?”He nodded.“Oh, thank God,” I sighed again, clutching my rapidly beating heart in relief. I wasn't sure what I'd do if it was otherwise.“See me in my office, will you?” Dr Harrison smiled, his widow's peak more pronounced.“Sure,” I nodded. The Good Doctor nodded before walking down the direction of his office.I turned to look at Jason and fell into his embrace, my knees almost giving out on me.He was taller than me, so he pretty much dwarfed me and made it seem like I was the younger one instead of the other way around. I embraced his warmth, glad I had him here right now even though he got on my nerves sometimes.“See, I told you

Lexi“Well?” I folded my arms, waiting for an explanation from my brother. There was no way in hell he found 20,000 dollars so fast.Jace sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets.“Can we worry about this later?”“No, we can't. The last time I worried about something later, I ended up losing a job. Tell me where you got the money.”“I told you, a friend lent it to me.”I scoffed at that.“Please, don't tell me it's one of your drug dealer friends.”“It's not, goodness, Lex,”“Really? So where did you get twenty grand from, Jace?”“From a friend.”“Okay, fine. How do you plan on paying back?”“We'll figure it out after Mom's surgery, okay?”I didn't like this. I didn't like it one bit, but he was right. I should be grateful he'd been able to come up with the full amount on such short notice, but that meant I'd have to get a job as soon as possible to pay off this debt, too. “Jace. We can't risk any trouble right now…”Just then, the door to the ward creaked open, and in walked a bro

  • My Billionaire Valentine Escort    Chapter 18- Richard

Richard “Sir, the interviewees are here.” Lilian, my secretary, said as I made my way out of a two-hour-long meeting with some investors about my next project. I was exhausted beyond words and all I wanted to do was go home and take a long ass nap. “Send them home,” I replied curtly. It was only noon, but I was already tired. Mostly because I had been awake most of last night, thanks to Carter and Gunner and of course…Lexi, whom I couldn't stop thinking about after last night's almost kiss. I was so close to getting her. She was stubborn, but that was the appeal. That was what made me want her more. “What?” Lilian's voice rang. “I said send them home, Lilian. Would you like me to email it to you, maybe itemize it in a to-do list?” She shook her head. “No, it's just that… I mean...” she paused again as if trying to find the right words in order not to get in trouble “If that will be all, you're dismissed,” I said without looking at her. “No,” she suddenly snapped,

LexiAs soon as I got to the hospital, I flew out of my car and ran into the huge white and grey building. The smell of cleaning products hit me like a ton of bricks, assaulting my poor nostrils as I whooshed through the hallway.I was almost hit by paramedics taking an accident victim in.“Sorry!” One of them yelled.I ignored it, making a beeline for the reception desk.“Hi, I'm looking for my mom. Ms Cameron. She was brought in here by my brother, Jace,”“Oh, you're Jace's sister,’ she said with a smile. “He told me to look out for you. I'll let him know you're here,”She picked up her phone and dialed a number. "Jace, your sister's here," she said, then gave me a reassuring nod. "He'll be right out,”“Thanks,” I managed a smile.I shifted on my feet, worrying clawing at my skin. My palm was sweaty and I kept trying to rub off the sweat on my jeans.“Lex!” I heard my brother call.I turned and ran to him.“How is she?”I asked, with obvious worry in my voice.“She's stable now but

LexiAs soon as the door clicked close, Rhea was on me with thirty questions.“Alright, start from the beginning,” Rhea said, walking past me and getting comfortable on the couch. “We want everything,”“Yes, Exactly,” Evelyn said, taking off her coat and finding her seat on one of my tiny chairs.I sighed, knowing I had been cornered. There was no getting around it. They wouldn't let me be until I spilled.“That was the gigolo, Richard,”“We already established that. We could practically see the hate in your eyes immediately he arrived and let me just say, he's delicious looking.” Evelyn smiled.“Then why did you ask?” I frowned.“Because I wanted to prove I was right, duh,”I rolled my eyes. “Whatever.”“So, why was he here and why did you look like y'all were about to eat each other raw?” “We didn't look like that and he came to apologize.” i lied. We'd shated a moment, an intense one but it was only because I was tipsy and he wouldn't relent.Sure, I wanted to kiss him but that me

  • My Billionaire Valentine Escort    Chapter 15

    - Lexi “We need to talk,” he said, his voice firm, his expression unreadable—bordering on angry. What right did he even have to be upset? He was the one encroaching on my life like some parasite with a tracking device mm “There's nothing to talk about,” I scowled. "Just leave me alone,” I added, trying to close the door, but he stuck his leg between the door. “We are going to talk whether you like it or not, Lexi.” “Excuse me?” “You're excused,” he said coolly, then pushed the door open and stepped inside. Without waiting for permission, he walked into my living room and dropped a takeout bag on the coffee table. “Food,” he pointed. “You can't just barge into…” “I know, and I'm sorry, but we can't keep doing this cat-and-mouse game, it's driving me insane,” I scoffed, completely in disbelief. He had some nerves barging into my sanctuary and telling me what to do? “There is no cat and mouse game. It's simply that I hate you, and you… you're everywhere,” I ye
