Jaxon forced his body to leave the woman. He walked over to the cabinet filled with liquor and poured whiskey into his crystal glass.
“We’ll see how long this woman gives up looking for me.”
“But that’s not how you play, Jaxon.”
“How do I play, Gavin?” Jaxon drank his drink, and without realizing it, several times, he pulled the tie, which was starting to choke him.
“Every day you follow that girl’s movements, you even look… interested when you hear a beautiful woman with an angelic look looking for you alone on the streets of Denver, and you know it’s dangerous for her. She could be the target of your enemies.”
Jaxon turned his back to Gavin. He didn’t want his best friend to see the expression on his face right now.
When the girl set foot in Denver, Jaxon had heard of her. He even put in some spies to watch the girl’s movements. Jaxon clearly remembered the first day the girl arrived.
At that time, he had just finished a meeting with some of his trusted people when Fritz suddenly told him a foreign woman was looking for him. Every day he asked about the development of the woman. Jaxon grimaced when he remembered one incident while enjoying lunch at De La Crush where the girl always stopped by for lunch.
At that time, he deliberately went to De La Crush, where the girl usually had lunch.
“Prez!” De La Crush restaurant owner named Grant came to him as soon as he entered the restaurant.
“Grant,” he replied as usual. He was about to correct Grant not to call him Prez anymore because it had been a long time since he left the position of President at the Motorcycle Club, which currently still exists named Hades, but was discouraged. Because some people who are very close to him know him as Prez - short for President.
Jaxon grimaced at the nickname he got. Even some time ago, a newspaper called him Kingpin.
“If I knew you were coming, I would have prepared your favorite meal. You can’t come without telling me first. “
Jaxon just gave a smile. Somehow, lately, he’s been doing something out of the ordinary.
“I won’t belong. There is still business waiting,” he replied without explaining.
Grant brought him to the table he used to occupy every time he visited. Even though the food was served on the table less than five minutes later, he didn’t touch it. His gaze focused on the door. His shoulders tightened in anticipation as the door opened and a woman walked in. His heart was racing, but disappointment pinched his heart because she wasn’t what he was waiting for.
Ten minutes passed, and the woman did not come. He was getting annoyed. Even Grant, standing across the room, was staring at him, confused because he hadn’t touched the food on the table. He decided to wait another five minutes, but by the time the five minutes passed, the woman did not show.
Jaxon pulled out his cell phone, half annoyed to call one of his trusted people.
“You followed that woman?” he asked as soon as the phone was picked up, without greeting, to the point.
“Yes, sir,” the answer from across.
“Where is she?” he asked again, still irritated.
The line on the other side was silent, and there was a sound of clears throat.
“Fritz?” His voice slightly raised, he waiting impatiently for an answer.
“Sir, it looks like that girl is not going to De La Crush. He’d been sitting in Denver Park since earlier. And… feed the ducks. “
Both of them were silent for a long time. The only static sound was heard, indicating the network was still connected.
“Feed ... ducks?” Jaxon asked finally, stunned.
“Well ... now she’s moving and feeding ... pigeons.”
Jaxon could hear the amused tone Fritz was hiding.
And sure enough, that woman hadn’t shown her nose at De La Crush all that day. He made sure the information was accurate.
Out of respect for Grant, Jaxon finished the food in front of him despite swallowing painstakingly in less than ten minutes before finally saying goodbye back to the castle.
The next day, he makes sure that the girl goes to De La Crush first before catching up later so that he doesn’t look like a teenager waiting for his crush on the first date.
Jaxon still remembers clearly when he first saw the woman in person.
The woman sat alone in the corner of the room as if to hide, but almost all the men in the room stared at her incessantly. Jaxon decided to choose another table because the regular table he occupied was next to that woman.
Again, Grant gave him a confused look as he chose the table in the middle of the room. The position he always avoided.
Long time Jaxon watched in silence. Not only is she beautiful, but the woman’s personality also looks elegant, like the women from elite families he was used to meeting. Starting from eating and body movements, it clearly shows that the woman is not from the ordinary. But the clothes are inversely proportional. If his guess was correct, the jeans and t-shirt the woman wore cost just $25 at Goodwill.
On the second day, the women were in Denver, Jaxon received information from a trusted source. Her name is Mia Heart, and she is 22 years old. The name Mia Heart has existed since four years ago. Then, where had Mia Heart been eighteen years earlier?
Jaxon could see Grant’s head like a Ping-Pong ball as he watched the girl from the corner of his eye. Everyone at De La Crush was staring at her warily when she asked about a man named Jaxon Bradwood right in front of his face.
“Do you know a man named Jaxon Bradwood?” Mia asked in a low voice, but the name Jaxon Bradwood halted all conversations. All eyes are fixed on Jaxon, sitting in the middle of the room. Perfect. Jaxon thought while continuing to chew the salmon in his mouth while his eyes focused on the plate.
The servant girl Jaxon knew by the name of Vero glanced at him with an eyebrow, confused by the situation. Jaxon raised the glass in front of him and took a sip of the drink as if he had heard nothing.
Vero cleared her throat and answered Mia with a forced smile.
“I’ve never heard of that name before. I’m sorry,” she replied as sincerely as possible. Mia said something about takeaway for dinner. Vero nodded once. “I’ll deliver your order later. Just call if you want something else,” she said before leaving.
Vero looked at Jaxon questioningly as she passed his desk. The girl looked like she wanted to laugh. Jaxon innocently enjoyed the food in front of him.
Jaxon waited at least half an hour after Mia Heart came out of De La Crush before he got out of his chair. Grant pat him lightly on the shoulder as he was about to get out. As if to imply he is giving support.
At least that’s what Jaxon has been doing this week, watching, following, looking for information, and advancing his lunch schedule from three in the afternoon to one at De La Crush.
At this time, the woman was fast asleep in his office, on the sofa, without noticing his presence. Jaxon glanced at Mia Heart. Thinking hard about the next step, his forehead creased as soon as he heard Candy Crush from the corner of the room. Even Gavin was getting bored and filling the silence with games on his cellphone.
An alarm sound woke Mia from sleep. Her gaze was still heavy when she found her cellphone on the table beside her bed. It was too early. Several times she blinked away the fog in her head until the sound of a knock on the door brought her back to her senses. Moaning softly, Mia got up from the bed. She was still clad in her shirt from last night. Her white bag is close to her cellphone. The motel room she rented was in the same condition as the last time she left, but her brow creased when she found the black coat on the other side of the bed. She was about to grab the coat when the sound of knocking on her door was heard a second time. “Room Service!” said whoever was behind the door. Mia forgot the suit and saw who woke her up at this hour. The smell of butter-covered bread teased her as soon as the door was opened. “Looks like you’re in the wrong room,” she said to the maid girl in the maroon and black uniform in front of her. The girl smiled kindly at her. “This is an order
“What is this?!” Jaxon snapped at Gavin, who looked bored looking at the cuticles of his fingers on his left hand. “Oh, I forgot about that,” Gavin replied innocently. Jaxon was about to jump over the table that separated the two, but his body was immediately dragged away by his three friends away from the table. Gavin, who accepted Jaxon’s rage, just shrugged and hid behind Rey’s body. Danny Johanson laughed with amusement when he read the newspaper that was still spread out on the table, even Nicko Anderson, who was holding Jaxon’s body, couldn’t help but laugh, adding to Jaxon’s angry fire. Gideon Rose and Connor Black were forced to drag Jaxon, their best friend, to the corner of the room. Rey glared at Gavin, who only gave an innocent face back. He raised his face, praying that he would disappear from the place. The commotion Gavin was creating made him lose his temper. He even thought of the best way to hide Gavin’s body — the corpse — in one of his old warehouses, or maybe
Silence surrounded the room. Mia stood nervously, and she got observation glances from seven pairs of eyes. She felt like antiques in a museum being observed. None of the handsome men in the room moved and returned the greeting, except for one person, a man with blonde hair and a cute face standing by the sofa. The man smiled at her, but he seemed to withhold in amusement. Mia doesn’t even understand where the funny thing is. “My name is Mia He―” “We heard your name just now. No need to introduce yourself twice.” Mia glared at the man standing in front of her. She ignored the handsome man because of his rude attitude, but a sweet scent of citrus and sandalwood greeted her, reminding her of something. Fully aware, Mia approached the man and pulled hard on his black suit so that his body leaned forward. She ignored his angry gaze or the sharp sound of his breathing. She shamelessly sniffed the scent on the man’s suit. More precisely, she almost kissed the handsome man’s chest. Sure
I can’t believe it. Mia thought when she was locked up in a room, even two armed men were now guarding behind the door. Anger made her unable to sit still. She waited in the room for a long time, but until dinner was delivered, the man she was waiting for did not come either. “I don’t need these foods. Bring it all back, and let me out!” she exclaimed irritably at the young man delivering a trolley full of food. The young man looked calm, as if no one was talking in the room. Feeling neglected, Mia started screaming and didn’t touch the food served. “At least tell me where Jaxon Bradwood is. I don’t want to be in this place, and I need to talk to him!” Mia held the young man’s arm as he was about to sneak out this time. The young man released Mia’s grip, leaving her locked. At least an hour later, the man she was waiting for came over to her. Mia waited in anticipation when she heard the sound of a lock, and his figure filled the door. At first, they just stared at each other
Four days. Mia mumbles while pacing in her locked room. She did not think Jaxon had kept her prisoner for four days in the castle. She had never seen Jaxon since four days ago. It felt like she wanted to scream in frustration. “Hey! I know someone is behind this door. Don’t pretend you didn’t hear me! I need the sun and fresh air!” She pounded on the door in front of her many times, but there was no response. She hated the feeling of helplessness. Several times Mia banged on the door again until finally, she felt tired, then left the door and lay on the bed. That was her position when Jaxon entered the room a few hours later. “Four days, Mr. Bradwood. You kept me prisoner for four days! “Mia slowly got up and sat opposite Jaxon, standing on the other side. “I’m not holding you, Miss Heart. This is just a special treatment that I rarely give my guests.” Mia was about to say something, but Jaxon gave a silent gesture with one hand raised. “Before you say something that will only ge
Two men lay helplessly inside the dungeon of the Red Cage Building. Bloodstained both of the man’s clothes. Their gaze was half focused on a figure standing in the center of the room. A tall body rose with clenched fists drenched in fresh blood that dripped onto the ends of his shiny leather shoes. “That’s enough, Jax,” said Rey, who had been watching Jaxon beat up the two men to death. Jaxon didn’t listen to Rey’s words. His hands quickly grabbed the forearm from behind his back. Jaxon seemed to shut down his conscious senses to his surroundings, drowning in the murderous desire that enveloped his body. “Jax!” Rey rushed towards Jaxon and pulled out his elbow, aimed at the two men. “They’re already helpless, brother,” he whispered as he tapped Jaxon’s shoulder, bringing him to his senses. Jaxon’s mood has been bad lately. He didn’t want Jaxon to return to being the monster that ruled him. “You know how I work, Rey. These two men clearly challenge me. “ Yesterday they found more
Since morning Mia has explored the room in Aurelia Castle. She was amazed by this building. Even though this castle is a new building, everything in the castle depicts medieval style. Grand but classic and extraordinary. Now she can’t sleep after dinner. Her mind is always wandering to Blueberries. She still has no permission to take her personal belongings, including her cell phone. She thought about Matt, who must be worried. Not wanting to be lost in evil thoughts, Mia decided to leave the room, and maybe by going around the castle, she could divert her mind. Mia remembered the library shown by a butler named Snow. Seeing a large room’s neatly arranged collection of books on shelves made Mia even more amazed by the castle. Mia brought herself to the library in slow steps and was careful not to wake anyone at this late hour. Her steps stopped when she found a masculine figure facing the window, his back to her. With one hand in his pocket, while the other holding a crystal glass,
Mia’s face flushed red, remembering what happened last night. Luckily it was too early, so the dining table was quiet, and only a few servants were on duty. Even though she prayed that morning, Jaxon was not at Aurelia Castle because she could not make eye contact with his beautiful dark eyes. “Did you sleep well?” And that hope was dashed as his masculine voice filled the quiet dining room. “Yes,” Mia replied, lowering her head even more without even looking at Jaxon, who was sitting at the head of the table not far from her. Jaxon saw Mia’s reaction. He worked hard to keep his delighted grin hidden. It’s too early to make fun of the poor girl. A servant came into the room with a trolley full of food. After having breakfast served, Mia ventured to glance at Jaxon. For some reason, Jaxon had become handsome several times this morning. Even though only with a white shirt whose sleeves are folded to the elbows, and wet hair after a bath, he looks younger. His dark eyes seemed to glo
