Chapter Twelve - Cupid isn't a friend to everybody...
Deciding it’s best not to scare her again, Mike coughed and gave her a small smile of assurance.
“Hmmm, can I get a cup of coffee? I didn’t get my usual dose of coffee before leaving the office.” He explained softly.
Shocked by this request, Liza nodded slowly. “Of...of course. Give me some minutes.” She told him while walking to the kitchen.
Releasing his breath in a whoosh, Mike gave himself thumbs up on how that went well. Now, all he has to do is let her know she is being childish and to resume back to work tomorrow. Voila, she will see sense and all will be well with his world. That should be easy to do. Right?
Coming back to the room with the coffee on a saucer, she gave him the cup of coffee, prepared, exactly the way he loved it. Smiling, Mike took a sip appreciatively before dropping the cup.
