Chapter 6

Skye's POV

At exactly 9 a.m‚ I stood outside his office door‚ frozen there for a full three minutes before I could finally make myself knock.

I lifted my hand‚ hesitated for just a second‚ then knocked twice before I could change my mind.

“Come in.”

I turned the handle and stepped inside‚ and the first thing that hit me was how massive his office was. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. A dark mahogany desk that probably cost more than my mother's entire house.

Chapter 30 Skye's POV “You’re driving‚” he said as we stepped into the parking garage‚ holding a set of keys out in front of my face. I blinked at the keys dangling from his fingers. "What?" "I'm tired‚ Skye. Drive." "You want me to drive your car? Your ridiculously expensive car that probably costs more than my entire apartment building?" “Is English a problem to you?” I huffed and snatched the keys out of his hand‚ then unlocked the car and slid into the driver’s seat. It was different from the one we took to the gala. He got into the passenger seat and leaned his head back against the headrest and closed his eyes without saying a word. I adjusted the mirrors and the seat because his legs were about a mile longer than mine and the steering wheel was practically in my lap. "Your seat is ridiculously far back‚" I muttered. "Drive‚ Skye." "I don't even know where you live." "Turn left out of the garage. I'll direct you." I pulled out of the parking garage

Chapter 29 Skye's POV I stood in that stairwell for a long time after the door closed behind him. My legs were still shaking. My shirt was ruined. The buttons were scattered somewhere on the concrete floor below me and I didn't even bother looking for them because what was the point. I pulled my bra back up and tugged my skirt down and wiped my face with the back of my hand and tried to breathe like a normal person. It took me five full minutes before I could walk without my knees giving out. I made it down to the fifth floor kitchen on autopilot. My body moved but my brain was somewhere else entirely‚ still stuck in that stairwell‚ still replaying the sound of his voice when he said *that doesn't feel like nothing to me* and the way his body had trembled against mine even though he would never in a million years admit it. I made his coffee. Black. No sugar. Carried it back up twenty flights of stairs because I refused to take the elevator and risk running into anyone wi

Chapter 28 Skye’s POV He pulled out of my mouth slowly. I gasped for air. My lips were swollen and wet and my chin was covered in spit and my eyes were red from choking and I looked up at him expecting something. A reaction. An acknowledgment. Anything. But his face was stone. "Get up‚" he said. "Turn around." I stood on trembling legs and turned to face the wall. Before I could take a breath his hands grabbed my skirt and yanked it up around my waist. I heard him step closer. Felt his body press against my back like a furnace. His fingers found my panties and shoved them roughly to the side. Then he was inside me. One thrust. So deep that my forehead hit the wall and my mouth fell open and the only sound that came out was a broken gasp that didn't even sound like me. "Oh— god—" He pulled out and slammed back in. Harder. Deeper. His hands went to the front of my shirt and he yanked it open so roughly that I heard the buttons scatter on the concrete. Then his hands

Chapter 27 Skye's POV "No." He looked down at me with those cold blue eyes and his jaw tightened. "You don't have a choice‚ Skye." "I always have a choice." "No. You don't." He stepped closer until his cock was inches from my face and I could feel the heat coming off his skin. "You signed the contract yourself. You agreed to give me full access to every part of you. So when I tell you to open your mouth‚ you open your mouth." I glared up at him with every ounce of hatred I could gather into my eyes. "Why don't you just go meet with her then?" I said through my teeth. "Why wait till 8pm? She seemed more than willing to give it to you however you like. And I'm sure she's way better in bed than your little contract PA." The stairwell went dead silent. "So that's what this is about‚" he said quietly. "I don't know what you're talking about." "That's why you've been running your mouth all day. The attitude. The slamming doors. The disrespect." A cold smile touche

Chapter 26 Skye's POV "Where have you been?" He asked like it was an interrogation. "The break room‚ sir‚" I said‚ dropping into my chair without giving him the courtesy of eye contact. "Eating. During my lunch break. Which is what lunch breaks are for." He didn't move. Just stood there radiating that terrifying stillness that I had learned meant he was at his most dangerous. Then he stepped closer. And closer. And closer. "You walked out of my office this morning." "I did‚ sir." "Without being dismissed." "Didn't realize I was a soldier awaiting orders‚ sir. My apologies. Should I salute next time?" Something shifted behind his eyes. He braced one hand on the back of my chair and the other flat on my desk‚ caging me in‚ and leaned down so close that his face was inches from mine and I could see every fleck of ice in those terrifying blue eyes. "I'm going to ask you one time‚" he said. "What is your problem?" "Nothing‚ sir. No problem at all. Just doing my job.

Chapter 25 Skye's POV I made it through the morning without seeing Thorne again. And by the time lunch break rolled around‚ I had convinced myself that I was fine. Totally fine. Completely unbothered. I headed to the break room where the usual lunch spread was laid out along the counter. Sandwiches‚ salads‚ soup of the day‚ fruit bowls‚ and a pasta station that normally would have made my mouth water but today made my stomach clench. I grabbed a plate‚ put some pasta on it because I needed to look normal‚ and scanned the room for a familiar face. Evelyn was already sitting at our usual table with a salad in front of her and her phone in her hand. Mark was across from her‚ working through a plate of rice and grilled chicken while scrolling through something on his tablet. I sat down next to Evelyn and set my plate on the table. "You okay?" Evelyn asked‚ glancing at me. "You look kind of pale." "I'm fine‚" I said. "Just tired." "Late night?" Mark asked without looki
