Jude is in too much shock to move, so I rush over to Beth and crouch down beside her. I feel for a pulse at her neck and right away I know that she is still with us because her skin is still warm to the touch. That’s when I feel it, it’s faint, but it’s still there.

“She’s alive Jude, but we need to get her to the hospital soon.” I turn her all the way onto her back, and I’m shocked to see the condition that she is in. Aside from a gash near her eye and a split lip, she looks better than I thought she would after seeing all the blood on Elise. It isn’t until I look down and see all the dried blood between her thighs that I figure out where it all came from.

My eyes sweep around the area and find what I was looking for before closing my eyes and cursing. Those fuckers used anything they could find with a handle and used it to sexually assault Beth. I see movement coming my way and I swing around as I stand up.
