“He is good to me Seirra. Its just that he is too cold to others”Liana says putting on a gentle smile .

Seirra snorts and rolls her eyes .

“Enough, you dont have to explain for your beloved husband ,lady . I have eyes and i can see just fine .“Seirra says sarcastically with a tight smile .

Liana sighs and smiles sadly .

“Why did you get sick suddenly? You look so thin .Are they mistreating you babe?”Seirra asks inspecting Liana’s arms as if searching for some sort of prove of abuse .

Liana chuckles and shakes her head “No silly,i just had fever .Nothing serious.”

Though she feels guilty in her heart for lying to her best friend, she doesn’t want her to worry .

More specifically, she doesn’t want her family to worry .

Even though, its been a few years since she left her family and lost contact with them , she knows that they get in touch with Seirra regularly to ask about her .

“You dont have any fever now , seems like the fever went down . Do you want something babe?”Seirra asks after checking Liana’s forehead.

Hearing her,Liana notices the dryness in her throat.

“Can you bring me some warm water?”Liana asks

“Sure!I will be back in two minutes!”Seirra says before getting up and heading out of the room to get water .

After completing the discharge procedures and taking medicines,Nash heads to Liana’s room .

He stops at the door, hearing the sound of laughter.Pecking through the glass ,he sees Liana laughing and chatting happily with her friend.

“She looks so..happy and free . Different from the usual forced obedience and tight lipped smiles . She looks genuinely happy “Nash thinks, lost in her face .

Its one of the few times he has seen Liana smile like this .

And coincidentally all of those times were with Seirra . She only smiled like this in front of him once , on their wedding day .

A bitter and ugly feeling surges in Nash’s heart seeing her smile so freely with Seirra .

“Tskk! She keeps up the appearance of a nun with me but she is so happy with her friend “

Nash bursts into the room , closing the door with a loud bang ,feeling sour and grumpy .

Liana and Seirra are scared from the sudden loud bang and stop talking .

“Dude, whats wrong with you? Can’t you close the door properly?”Seirra asks glaring at Nash .

Nash glare back at her like a child “Can’t “

Liana frowns looking at Nash .

“He seems upset,i wonder whats wrong”She thinks looking at his furrowed brows and raging eyes .

“Dont you have work to do?Why are you wasting your time here?”Nash asks sitting beside Liana .

“Huh,i am never busy for my friend, unlike someone else”Seirra says scoffing.

Her words as clear as day who she is indicating to .

Liana coughs and grabs Nash’s hand .

These two will end up fighting if i dont interfere now .

“When can i go home?”Liana asks looking at Nash gently .

Seirra makes a disgusted face from the side , eyeing Nash up and down , not understanding what her friend saw in this cold man .

Sure he is handsome but thats it .

Nothing else is good about him .

The raging feeling starts to subside as he feels Liana’s hand on his .

He interlocks their fingers together before kissing her hand .

Liana’s heart skips a beat seeing him kiss her hand . A sudden warmth fills her heart and she gets butterflies in her stomach.

Heat creeps up to her cheeks as she smiles shyly and looks down to hide her embarrassment .

“He has never done this…whats up with him now?”

“Whatever it is , i just hope he starts to open up to me “Liana thinks looking up at him through her long eyelashes.

“I have completed the discharge procedures . We can go home now if you want “Nash says looking at Liana .

“I should take a few days off and stay with her .”Nash thinks glancing at her weak body .“Just to make sure she is okay . Yeah , just to make sure , nothing else .”

Liana hesitates for a few seconds, she really doesn’t want to go back in that house again .

She is scared of that room now . There was no one to hear her cry and yell of helps when she was locked up in there and forced to be in dark .

A shiver goes through her body thinking of the dark , cold nights when she was too scared to even lift her head .

She has always been scared of dark .

"“Lets go home then”Liana says with much difficulty , knowing full well that Nash prefers to stay with his family .

More specifically, she knows that he won’t make an exception for her . He never did .

Even though it hurts , she won’t accept it .

“Are you okay Lia?Why are you shivering and getting goosebumps?”Seirra asks covering her with the quilt.

“I am fine , just feeling a little cold .”Liana says pulling her lips in a tight smile .

“I have already taken the medicines, lets go then “Nash says

“I have to change my clothes first “Liana says looking down at the hospital gown on her body .

“I will help you change ,babe”Seirra says getting up

Nash frowns hearing her

“I think you should get going now Mrs.Kent.I can help my wife change her clothes.”Nash says looking at her with hostility.

Seirra frowns unhappily, glaring at him but Liana’s pleading eyes make her swallow her retort.

“Fine, i will get going . Babe, remember to call me later okay?”Seirra says getting up reluctantly with her purse .

Liana nods and watches as her friend leaves .

An awkward silence surrounds them after Seirra leaves .

“Where are your clothes?”Nash asks getting up .

Liana looks at him with surprise and confusion “I dont know ,i just woke up sometime ago .”

Realisation hits Nash that she was unconscious since last night .

Nodding he looks around the room and finds a bag .

Taking out a set of clothes from the bag , he hands them to Liana .

Liana takes her clothes from him and looks at him silently , waiting for him to go out .

“Why isn’t he going out?”

“What?”Nash asks seeing Liana looking at him like a curious cat .

“Aren’t you going out?”Liana asks laughing awkwardly.

“Why would i?”Nash asks sitting down besides her again .

“I-I am going to change my clothes “Liana says flustered from his heated gaze and closeness .

He laughed harder this time. “Don’t worry. I’m not taking you there.”“I—I didn’t even know these places existed!”He grinned. “You’re adorable.”She kept staring outside, then blinked rapidly. “Wait… are those men?”“Yes.”“But… they look…”She squinted. Her brows furrowed.“Their… um…”Nash raised a brow. “Their what?”“Their dicks,” she whispered, blushing furiously. “They look so small. Are you sure they’re men?”Nash nearly swerved off the road.He clutched the wheel, laughing so hard he couldn’t breathe. “Oh my—Liana!”“I mean,” she mumbled, covering her face. “I’ve only seen yours… and compared to that… those just look…”“Like peanuts?” Nash choked out between laughter.“I didn’t say that!”“You thought it!”Liana laughed too, finally letting her head drop against the seat.It was the kind of laughter that shook her chest, that made her stomach ache. The kind of laughter she hadn’t felt in years. She looked at Nash, still laughing with tears in his eyes, and her heart swelled.

The car still smelled like sin.Heavy, intimate, raw. The kind of scent that lingered long after the chaos was over — a heady blend of Liana’s sweet, aroused scent, Nash’s thick release, and the light sheen of sweat that coated both their bodies. The air was thick with it, every breath reminding Liana of the wild way he’d taken her just minutes ago.And her body wasn’t done with him.She sat curled against the seat, her thighs still trembling slightly, her lips swollen from his kisses, her pants clinging to her skin — sticky and damp. Her blouse clung to her chest in places it shouldn’t, and the ache between her legs hadn’t dulled. Not even close.Nash drove in silence, one hand gripping the wheel, the other resting lazily on the console, fingers occasionally tapping in rhythm — calm, like he hadn’t just devoured her in a public car.But his knuckles were still red from holding her hips too tightly.Liana shifted in her seat, thighs rubbing together in subtle friction, trying to calm

Every step made her more aware of it.Of how the fabric brushed against her bare skin.Of how exposed she felt — even if fully dressed. She walked down the stairs carefully, heart in her throat. Nash was already waiting in the living room, leaning against the edge of the couch, arms crossed, wearing black slacks and a fitted shirt that hugged his chest and sleeves perfectly. His eyes swept over her the second she appeared.Slow. Possessive.“You listened,” he said, voice laced with heat.Liana swallowed. “You said it like I didn’t have a choice.”“You didn’t.”Before she could respond, he was already opening the front door.⸻The ride was quiet at first. They were in Nash’s matte black Aston Martin. The windows were tinted, the leather interior cool beneath their touch. The city passed by outside in a blur — glass buildings, shifting sunlight, and the faint hum of early traffic.Nash drove with one hand on the wheel. The other? On her thigh. At first, it was innocent. A light touch. H

Nash didn’t answer. He hung up slowly and set the phone on the table. His breakfast sat untouched now, the coffee growing cold.Liana watched him in silence. He didn’t move. She stood quietly, walked around the table, and sat beside him instead of across. Her hand reached up and touched his shoulder lightly.“You okay?” she asked softly. He didn’t answer.Liana leaned in, pressing herself to his side, arms wrapping around him.He turned slightly, allowing her to hug him. Her cheek pressed into his upper arm.“You don’t have to say anything,” she whispered. “I just… don’t like seeing you like this.”Nash turned his face to her — slowly — his eyes shadowed, something sharp and conflicted in them. But the moment their gazes locked, the mood shifted.Suddenly, she was too close. His breathing deepened. And under the table, she felt it — his body responding to her proximity.Hard.Fast.His arousal pressed against the fabric of his pants, unmistakable. Her cheeks flushed.“N-Nash—”Before

Still in the black shirt he had left in, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, the collar slightly open like he had just returned and hadn’t even paused to change. His hair was tousled, his jaw shadowed with faint stubble, and his eyes… those dark eyes were filled with something soft and deep as they looked down at her.“You’re home,” she whispered, voice hoarse with sleep. His thumb brushed her cheek again, like he hadn’t stopped since she opened her eyes.“You look so innocent and beautiful while you’re sleeping,” Nash said, voice low.Liana’s heart skipped a beat. A blush climbed onto her cheeks before she could even respond. The way he was looking at her — like she was some fragile, rare thing that he was afraid to break — it did something strange to her.He leaned a little closer. “You know I was worried about you. That maybe you wouldn’t be okay alone.”Her lips parted slightly, caught between smiling and teasing. “Why wouldn’t I be? Am I a baby to you?”A slow smirk tugged at Nash’s

Liana smiled. “Because if I keep holding onto bitterness, I’ll never be free. And today, I want to feel free.” Mia blinked back a strange tightness in her chest, quickly turning to face the steering wheel. “Okay then. Hold tight. We’ve got a lot of places to hit.” With a small laugh, she revved the engine and sped out of the driveway. The tires whispered against the warm road as the sun blazed above them. Wind tangled their hair as the car rushed through the outskirts of the city, where traffic was light and flowers bloomed at the edge of the sidewalks. They stopped at a boutique first, one that Mia swore had the “cutest bags in the world.” Liana admired a soft pastel blue sling bag and ended up getting it, along with a pair of sunglasses that Mia insisted made her look like a “celebrity hiding from paparazzi.” Their laughter echoed through the store. It wasn’t loud, but it was pure—the kind that makes strangers turn to smile without realizing it. After that, they drove to a
