Third Person's Point of View

Gerald stared at Mirabelle, puzzled by what she just said.

“Really?”

“Yes. That’s what Liliana told me. You saw how unwell she was earlier, didn’t you? You’re her best friend, but do you really know her at all?”

Gerald paused to think. He did notice Liliana seemed off earlier—uneasy, distracted. Now it made sense why she excused herself to the restroom.

“I did see she wasn’t comfortable. I didn’t even bother to ask what was wrong. So that’s why she went to the toilet. I should’ve noticed sooner.”

“She asked me to tell you not to worry about her anymore. She just wants you to enjoy the night.”

“That’s just like her.” Gerald sighed. “I’ll call her later. Thanks for letting me know, Sir Bart.”

Bart gave him a short nod. As Gerald walked away, Bart turned to Mirabelle and shot her a warning glare. He didn’t trust her at all—never did. And now she had almost ruined everything.

He walked off, just in time to see Jack arrive.

“Jack, what took you so long?”

Liliana’s Point of ViewI lowered my phone, my mind still loading—trying to process what just happened. Maeve? That’s what he called me. The man we saw at the ground floor. The same man everyone warned me to stay away from. He was the one who sent that message.Asher’s mood noticeably shifted when he first saw that guy, and I didn’t want to ruin our day, so I chose to ignore the message and put my phone away.We finally arrived at a stunning boutique, and I couldn’t help but gape in awe at how beautiful everything looked.Asher stepped out first and gently assisted me out of the car. We were about to walk in when someone suddenly called his attention.“Wife, go on ahead inside. There’s air conditioning there.”I nodded slowly and walked in. I was still distracted by the interior—glittering displays, luxurious fabrics, and elegant lighting. Everything was breathtaking.A saleslady quickly approached me with a practiced smile.“Good morning, ma’am.”“Ah, good morning,” I replied politel

3rd Person’s Point of ViewTheo was in his condo, and several well-known designers were currently gathered in his living room, presenting their latest designs. He had something special in mind—he planned to surprise Liliana with a beautiful dress and a pair of heels for her birthday tomorrow.“She likes light pink shades. You have something in that color, right?”“Yes, Sire,” one of the designers replied politely.Another designer approached, holding a portfolio of dress designs. He opened it and presented the collection to Theo.“Hmm... I want all of those. She’s also open to other colors, especially the ones that suit her natural glow. I’ll leave that part to your expertise.”“May we see a photo of Madame?” one of the designers asked. “So we can better visualize which styles and colors would suit her best?”Theo simply signaled with his hand, and someone brought out Liliana’s photo to show them. The designers studied it with admiration.“Wow, Madame is absolutely gorgeous,” one of t

Liliana’s Point of ViewThe day has finally come—time to shop for groceries for my birthday tomorrow.Yes, this is what I really planned to do. I told everyone I wanted something simple, nothing grand. And of course, I’d be joined by none other than my most handsome contracted husband.Kidding… but not really. We were both dressed and ready to go. I wore a flowy dress, doll shoes, and let my long hair down. I even did my makeup just right—enough that people at the mall might not recognize me. I didn’t want anyone randomly seeing me. I even had my hair curled to make it soft and wavy. Looking in the mirror, I had to admit... I looked even prettier than usual.Just then, I felt arms wrap around me from behind. I turned slightly and saw Asher, his head resting gently on my shoulder.“You smell so good, my wife,” he whispered. Then he kissed the side of my neck, sending shivers down my entire body. Damn it! This man really knows how to get under my skin.“Hubby,” I said, trying to sound s

3rd Person’s Point of ViewFive years ago…A loud slap echoed in the small room as Mirabelle’s father struck her across the face. The force of it knocked her to the floor, her hand instinctively flying to her cheek. Her father was once a proud man, but now—drunk, jobless, and consumed by gambling—he had become a shell of who he used to be. No longer providing for the family, he had instead turned his rage toward them.“You’re worthless!” he shouted, his voice slurred and filled with venom. “If only you were born a boy, maybe you’d have a purpose! Why were you even born a girl?!”He kicked her, shoving her into the corner of the room like trash.“This house is garbage! You’re all garbage! Worthless wife, worthless daughter!”Mirabelle sat in silence, crying in pain and fear. Meanwhile, her mother was being beaten again—helpless, sobbing, taking every blow with no resistance. When her father was finally done, he staggered out of the house. Her mother stood on trembling legs, ran after h

Liliana’s Point of ViewMy eyes were fixed on the ring in front of me.“Babe?”I saw the worry written all over his face. I looked at him and smiled, soft and composed.“I will.”Cheers erupted around the room. Applause followed, echoing through the entire floor. Everyone seemed happy—everyone, except me.Gerald smiled and immediately slid the ring onto my finger, then pulled me into a tight hug.“Thank you, Babe.”“Okay, let’s party!”I smiled faintly, playing along. The celebration kicked off, people started dancing and laughing, but deep inside, I felt sick.I buried the discomfort inside me. I had to keep my emotions in check.Bart approached me shortly after, concern evident in his eyes.“What does this mean?”I turned to him slowly, forcing another smile.“I knew we’d end up in this position.”“This is going to ruin your reputation if people find out you’re married and engaged at the same time,” he whispered, voice low under the loud music. We had moved to a more secluded part o
