Thirty lashes

Reiner's POV:

I held my baby tightly in my arms my hands far from steady.

I couldn't believe I was finally holding my baby, after all the fear and anxiety I had felt during the time the poker game started.

I gave thanks to God for bringing him back to me and silently prayed for forgiveness for my mistakes.

I had abandoned this baby and his mother while she was in labor, and the guilt weighed heavily on my conscience.

But now, with my child in my arms, I knew that I would do anything to protect and care for him.

I kissed his forehead, wondering what name Clair had given him.

I knew I had to find out, and make sure that my baby recognizes me as his father and the love his mother had for him.

Just as I was lost in my thoughts, Jerry's voice interrupted me.

Jerry sneered at me, "You may have won this time, but don't forget your father-in-law."

I stared at Jerry and demanded. "Let's play one more game. If I win, you free him. If I lose, it's game over for me."
