The final practical of the afternoon was over, and everyone was starting to leave the kitchen. I washed my cutting board, but I couldn’t stop thinking about what happened the night before.

“You’re going to scrub a hole right through that board if you keep going.”

I looked up. Ethan was leaning against the counter next to mine, untying his apron. He smiled softly.

“Sorry,” I said with a small laugh as I turned off the tap and wiped my hands on a dry towel. “Just… a lot on my mind.”

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   I Couldn’t Lose You Again

GemmaWork kept me busy, but it didn’t stop me from thinking about Julian.I spent the morning at the restaurant checking supplies, speaking with my staff, and sorting out an issue with one of our orders. There was always something that needed my attention, and I welcomed it. Keeping busy was easier than sitting alone with my thoughts and remembering what happened in Julian’s office.Yet, no matter how much I tried to concentrate, his answer kept coming back to me.Yes, I did.Two words. That was all it took to change the way I saw him.I still struggled to understand how the man who had been so close to me could admit to killing someone without offering a single explanation. I knew Joe had hurt me, and I couldn’t pretend I felt sorry for him. But that didn’t mean I could ignore what Julian had done or what it revealed about the man I thought I knew.I shook the thought away and returned to the paperwork in front of me. Whatever Julian was dealing with, I had my own life to manage. I

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   The Mistake He Couldn’t Afford

JulianAll the hope I had of fixing things with Gemma crumbled after the fight we had in my office. After she left, I drove like a madman, too angry to care about my speed. I was surprised the police didn’t stop me.My anger was directed at Vincent. He had no right to drag Gemma into our problems, and I was going to make him regret it.But I couldn’t stop thinking about Gemma. If I told her the truth two years ago, maybe things would have been different between us by now. Maybe we would have been happy together instead of finding ourselves in the same mess again.I hated the thought of losing her. Before Gemma came into my life, I never cared much about my feelings. I knew what I wanted, and I went after it. But with her, things were never that simple. The next day, I returned to my office and found everything just as I left it. Nobody dared to touch anything without my order. Broken glass lay near the wall, a chair was still on its side, and papers covered the floor.I sat behind my

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   The Man I Thought I Knew

GemmaBy the time I got home, I could barely see the road through my tears. I parked the car and sat there, gripping the steering wheel. I couldn’t bring myself to get out. Julian’s answer kept replaying in my head.He killed Joe.During the drive, I tried to convince myself that maybe I misunderstood him, that there was something I wasn’t getting right. But he didn’t deny it or try to convince me the picture was fake. He admitted what he did without any sign of fear.I wiped my face, picked up my bag, and got out of the car. I wasn’t ready to talk to anyone, but I couldn’t stay inside the car all evening either. The moment I walked into the house, Katia looked up from the sofa. She was watching something on her phone, but she put it away when she saw me.“Gemma? What’s wrong with you?”I shook my head and walked past her.“Gemma.”“Please, Katia. Not now.”I made it halfway down the hallway before I burst into tears again. I covered my face with both hands, trying to pull myself toge

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   The Price of His Secret

Julian“Who are you, Julian?”I stared at Gemma, but no words came out.She stood in front of me, breathing hard, her eyes filled with anger and disbelief. Her body shook with rage as she spoke. I had never seen her this angry before, and I hated that I was the cause. I wanted to reach for her, pull her into my arms, and explain everything, but I knew she wouldn’t let me touch her.“Answer me!” she shouted.I looked at the picture on the table. Joe’s dead body. The secret I had kept buried was now sitting between us, and there was no way to take it back.“Gemma…”“No!” She raised her hand. “Don’t call my name. Don’t you dare stand there and call me like everything is normal.”“I never said everything was…”“Then tell me who you are!” Her voice broke. “Because I don’t know you anymore.”I had faced men who wanted to destroy my business, people who threatened my family, and enemies who thought they could bring me to my knees. And I dealt with all of them without blinking. But standing i

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   he Truth She May Never Forgive

GemmaMy mind refused to accept it. My lips trembled. I called Julian. He picked up on the first ring.“Where are you?” I demanded, my voice shaking with rage and fear.“Gemma? What’s wrong?”“WHERE ARE YOU?” I screamed. There was a brief silence on the other end.“I’m at the office, babe. What…”I cut the call.My chest rose and fell rapidly. I could barely keep breathing, my fingers felt numb. Katia stood in front of me, staring with wide eyes.“Gemma, what’s going on? Who called you? What happened?”“Go home,” I told her.She frowned. “What?”“Go home, Katia. I’ll be coming soon.”“Gemma, you’re shaking. At least tell me…”“I said go home!” My voice cracked on the last word. I grabbed my bag and rushed out before she could ask anything else. I couldn’t stay there. I couldn’t sit still and pretend everything was fine.Julian had to explain. He needed to look me in the eyes and tell me what I was seeing, because there was no way I could accept it without hearing from him first.I dro

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   The Warning

Gemma“Stay a little longer, Gemma.”I picked up my handbag and looked at Julian. “I have a business to run.”“You can spare me another hour.”“And who will run my business while I sit here entertaining you?”He took my hand and pulled me closer. “I’m sure your staff can manage without you for an hour.”“Then you’re sure of the wrong thing.”He leaned down to kiss me, but I turned my face, making his lips land on my cheek. “Behave yourself, Julian.”“I’m trying, but you aren’t making it easy.”I laughed and freed my hand from his. Last night didn’t mean I was ready to let him back into my life, and I wasn’t about to confuse one night together with something more. I wasn't going to let a man become the centre of my world again.“I’ll call you later,” I told him before leaving.“I’m holding you to that.”*****My restaurant was already busy when I arrived. The waiters moved between tables with trays of food, while the kitchen staff worked on the pending orders.I greeted everyone before
