Chapter Four

Ria's POV.

*Few Days After*

There was no way I would be able to go on this way if I didn't get to find a job that would bring a lot of money.

"I am sorry, Miss Rialyn Logan, we would not be able to employ you for this job." I got a text message from the company I just applied to.

"Fuck fuck fuck!" I smashed my pillow to the floor in frustration. I didn't use his last name to apply, but they still called me with his last name!

Even after we were not together, he still haunts me.

This would be the fourth time a company would be canceling me without even getting to interview me. I met all the qualifications, but it was still the same thing.

This was definitely Miguel's handwork. He doesn't have to make life hard for me this way. I was starting to regret the fact that I let me pride took over me.

I should have just accepted the alimony instead.

"You can't give up yet. You could still get to see a lot of job vacancies." I mentioned to myself as I patted my face, pouting my lips as I exhaled with it .

I logged into a website while I kept on searching for a job, hoping that it hadn't been influenced by Miguel yet. I saw the company that belonged to that of Luca. I heard he has another branch here and they were looking for new workers.

I didn't know if it was right for me to take the chance. I didn't know if he still hated me just like the way I did in the past! I hated him to the core also, but I needed this job

I was still embarrassed thinking about the way he had seen me at his brother's house. He must have thought that I was the weak girl that couldn't do anything because I was living off his brother's money.

He even saved me the other day from his brother, and they didn't still tell me the kind of deal they made with each other after I had asked them.

I submitted my requirements after giving it some thought. That was my only approach right now. He saved me from the hands of his

I was standing right at the front of his huge company. I knew that I wasn't supposed to be here since I wasn't called for an interview. They didn't get back to me, so I guess I will have to see things for myself.

I didn't know the kind of job that was available, but I would try my best.

I clutched my documents onto my chest as I entered the company. I met with the receptionist immediately after I entered the company.

"Woah!" It escaped from my mouth on seeing how beautiful the company was. This is pretty beautiful for a newly built building!

"I am here for the interview." I mentioned to the receptionist immediately I got to where she was.

She looked at me with this kind of rude look like I wasn't supposed to be there.

"Can I get to see your invite?" She questioned me, making me sigh.

"I'm afraid I don't have that, but I am qualified for the job. You can tell your boss about it." I mentioned it to her.

"Please, I would advise you to leave this place." The receptionist informed me.

"I applied for the job on your website, but you didn't even get to say anything about it. So I decided to come here myself." I tried explaining things to her, but it seemed like she wasn't ready to listen to me.

"Please! Tell him that Rialyn is here to see him." I pleaded with her.

"I am calling the security right now."The receptionist brought out the telephone that was at her front.

"Let her come in." I heard that very deep, husky voice right behind me. I turned back immediately, only for me to see Luca, who was standing right behind me with his hands in his pocket.

His glow up was very insane! He came back after five years, and he looked way better since I last saw him. His jawline was so sharp that it could cut through diamonds!

He looked so fucking good. How come I didn't notice all of them when I met him at the house a few days ago?

"I am so sorry; she doesn't have an invite; that was the reason why I didn't let her in." The receptionist apologized to him.

I saw the little smirk at the corner of his lips while he walked out of the lobby into an elevator. I ran after him as fast as I could and then stood at the entrance of the elevator.

The elevator he entered seemed to be different from the others.

"What are you waiting for?" He questioned, interrupting my thoughts.

I quickly entered the elevator before it closed. I didn't know what kind of aura he had around him, but I was always nervous anytime I was around him.

After the elevator reached the last floor, I followed him slowly till we got to the last floor.

I followed him slowly at his back entering his office. I bet he was just resuming to the company after six years, seeing the way things were.

I didn't know why he went on that very long break, but I was really curious to know why he went on a five-year break immediately after college. His office interiors were very beautiful!

One could see the beautiful city through the glass! His desk was placed close to the end of the room, while there was a sofa and a table at the center of the room, which was perfect for a very small meeting.

He walked to the front of the desk and sat on the chair that was specially designed for him.

"Have your seat." He gestured, pointing at another chair that was opposite the desk.

"Thank you very much, sir." I sat on the chair, which was facing me.

"Give me a good reason why you want to work here." He questioned without even looking at me in the eyes, which was a good thing for me.

"I need money." I stated blindly.

"I love the fact that you are honest." He slightly nodded his head.

"Do you also know that your father left a lot of things in your possession?" He questioned me.

"What do you mean by that? What does my father have to do with this interview?" His reminding me about my dead father was kind of heartbreaking for me.

"You said you needed money. Your father left his company and everything else in your possession. Your stepmother kept this from you because she wanted it for herself." He confessed, making me open my mouth in confusion.

I was confused at fuck right now. My face squinted in confusion trying to get what he had said. Was he joking right now? I am not here for some kind of pranks.

"How did you know about this?" I questioned him, and he then shrugged.

"That is not what matters. Are you not going to take it back from them?" He questioned me, refusing to answer how he got to know about.

"Even if they were in possession of what belonged to me. I would need a lot of money to claim back what belongs to me. Besides, you have been away for the past five years, how did you get to know all of these?" One might think he has been stalking me

"I can help you get what you want. It might take a lot of time, but you would surely get it." He assured me. I looked slowly at his fingers as they slowly tapped the desk.

"You still haven't answered my question." I reminded him with a very stern face.

Wait! This was really crazy. Why was he helping me? First of all, you helped me get divorced, and now he wanted to give me a job, and he also wanted to help me claim what belonged to me.

It was rare to find someone who would actually do something from you without wanting something in return.

"What do you want in return?" I questioned him.

"There's only one condition I have for me to help you." Exactly! That was what I wanted to hear. What would I give in return for him helping me?

"What is it?" I questioned feeling hopeful. I would be able to do anything since I had nothing else to lose.

"Spend a night with me."He stated it bluntly. I thought he hated me to the core!

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    EPILOGUE III/AUTHOR'S NOTE.

Ominiscent's POV. Three years had passed since that night the night that had almost taken everything from Ria. The memory of Jade, the cliff, the terror it still flickered in her mind like a shadow but now it belonged to the past. Luca had been there, every step of the way, turning what could have been despair into safety, into a love so fierce that nothing could touch it. Their home overlooked a quiet lake, where mornings were painted with gold and evenings glimmered with pink and purple hues. The garden was Ria’s favorite place; she had insisted on planting jasmine, roses, and lilac along the pathways. The scent of flowers mixed with the gentle water breeze, creating a world of calm they could retreat to whenever the past crept too close. Ria had built her own life in those years. Her boutique—a collection of rare perfumes and custom fragrances—was thriving. She had started it small, but each scent told a story: a memory, a desire, a fragment of her soul. Luca adored surprising

(JADE'S EDITION) I had waited for this day for as long as I could remember. Nothing, no threat, no warning nothing was going to stop me now. My father had ensured the case against me was dismissed, clearing the way for me to act without hesitation. If I failed today, they might keep targeting me, and I could never allow that. The thought of finally seeing Ria at my mercy sent a thrill through me. I had always dreamed of this moment, imagining the satisfaction of watching her helpless, terrified, completely at my mercy. Finn had promised to help me, and the fact that he was willing made the anticipation even sweeter. She had announced her engagement to Luca. That would never happen—not as long as I lived.“Luca will save me,” she said with an air of confidence that made me laugh. She was so sure of herself, so convinced that everything would go according to her plan. How naive she was.“Not this time,” I murmured, lips curling into a dark smile. “There’s no escape tonight.”I led her

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    Epilogue I

Epilogue Five Years Later The city was waking up as I drove home from my latest shoot. The early morning traffic hummed softly beneath my tires, the skyline glowing with the first hints of sunlight. After five years, life had changed in ways I never imagined. I was no longer just Avia. People knew my name. My face graced magazines, billboards, and movie posters. I had become a successful actress, admired by many, and yet… as much as I loved the lights, the cameras, and the applause, nothing compared to the warmth waiting for me at home. Pulling into the driveway, I noticed the laughter before I even opened the door. It was bright, full, and alive—the sound of Tristan with our children. My heart lifted immediately, a warmth spreading through me. This was home. This was what mattered. I stepped inside and froze for a moment, taking in the scene. Tristan was sprawled on the living room floor, our little ones climbing all over him, their giggles filling the air. He looked up, sa

Chapter 196 Avia's POV The house was quiet in the evening, soft golden lights casting a warm glow across the dining room. For the first time in weeks, I felt a calm that wasn’t edged with fear. Tristan was beside me, his hand resting lightly over mine, the baby safe and kicking gently. We had survived everything. Finn was behind bars. Brianne was neutralized. The company was slowly stabilizing, shareholders reassured, and the media… well, they were satisfied enough to stop hunting us like vultures.I looked at Tristan, really looked at him. The chaos, the danger, the near-death experiences, and all the betrayals—they had changed us. But we were still together. Still standing. Still alive. He caught my gaze and gave me a small, tired smile. “Dinner’s almost ready,” he said softly. His voice had that quiet strength that always calmed me.I nodded, letting myself relax into the moment. “I can’t believe we’re finally having a normal evening,” I whispered. He chuckled lightly. “Normal i

Chapter 193 Tristan’s POVThe sun was rising, casting a soft orange glow across the city. I sat behind my desk, the office feeling strangely calm for the first time in weeks. The chaos, the danger, the betrayal, it all seemed to be fading into the background.Avia was beside me, sitting in the chair I had pulled close to mine. Her hand rested over her stomach, the baby safe and kicking lightly. She looked exhausted, but alive. Beautiful. My heart tightened at the sight. We hadn’t slept well. Not since the warehouse incident, not since Brianne had tried to finish what she started. But the relief was undeniable. She was here, safe. And I wasn’t going to let anyone take her again.I rubbed my face. The events of the last few weeks were replaying in my mind like a broken recording. Finn, finally caught, was behind bars. Brianne, just arrested, would face justice soon. And yet, the company, the shareholders, the media—they hadn’t stopped breathing down my neck.I looked at Avia. “I think.

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    Final blow

Chapter 192 Tristan’s POV I had just finished going through reports on the company, trying to stay calm, trying to think about Avia and the baby. But instinct told me something was off.I didn’t hear the usual click of the security door. No footsteps in the hall. Just silence.I stood and scanned the room, heart tightening. Something in my gut told me it was serious. Before I could react, the door creaked open just a little. A shadow slipped in.“Tristan,” a voice whispered. Smooth. Cold. Calculated.Brianne.I spun around. She had a gun in her hand. My stomach dropped.“You really think you can keep her safe?” she said, eyes wild but controlled. “You really think you can protect her from me?”I swallowed hard. My hands rose slowly. “Brianne… put the gun down. We can talk. You don’t have to do this.”Her laugh was sharp, bitter. “Talk? Oh, Tristan… you’ve had your fun, haven’t you? But it’s over now. I’m ending it.”Avia had been in the office earlier. I glanced around frantically,
