Elena's POV

We spent hours at Michael's office, going through documents and security footage, piecing together a timeline of Miguel's last days. By the time we left, it was nearly evening, and my head was pounding from information overload and too much coffee.

"The guest room is," Adrien started.

"I'll order dinner. Any preferences?"

  • My Ex, My Ruin   Chapter 70: The Return

Adrien's POVThree months of peace.Three months of waking up beside Morgan without guilt clawing at my chest.Three months of being Marcus Bennett without the ghost of Adrien Sterling haunting every decision.Three months since Singapore. Since I told Elena the truth. Since INo. I wouldn't think about that anymore.I'd made my choice. She'd accepted it. The data hadn't been released. Life had moved on.I had moved on."Morning," Morgan murmured beside me. Hair messy. Eyes still sleepy. Beautiful."Morning."She kissed my shoulder. "Coffee?""Please."She got up. Put on my shirt. The domesticity of it the casual intimacy still amazed me.This was real. This was mine. This was the life I'd chosen. And I didn't regret it.Not anymore.I got up. Showered. Dressed in one of Marcus Bennett's perfectly tailored suits. Looked in the mirror. The face staring back was the one Morgan loved. The one she knew. The one that wasn't connected to Adrien Sterling, Elena Santos, or any of the ghosts f

Elena povDay FourteenMy eyes opened.Bright lights. White ceiling. Hospital.Miguel's face appeared above me. Exhausted. Unshaven. Eyes red from crying."Elena?" His voice cracked. “you're awake."I tried to speak. My throat was raw. Dry.He held water to my lips. I drank."How long?" I whispered."Four days. You've been unconscious for four days.” "You're back. Thank God, you're back.""The data," I said. Voice hoarse but clear. "I want the data."Miguel stared. "What?""The data. Everything we have on Apex. On Morgan. On all of them. I want it.""Elena, you you almost died. You need to rest""I want the data, Miguel."He studied my face. Searching for something.Whatever he saw made him pause."You're different," he said quietly."Yes.""What happened?""I made a choice.""What choice?""To stop being the person who dies for love. And become the person who destroys for it instead."Miguel's eyes widened."The old Elena is gone," I continued. "The one who waited. Who hoped. Who bel

  • My Ex, My Ruin   Chapter 67: 72 Hours Later - Singapore

Elena’s povThe flight was long. Quiet. Miguel sat beside me, reviewing contingency plans."If this is a trap," he said for the hundredth time, "if Apex security shows up.""We run. I know.""And the data?""Is set to auto-release if I don't check in every six hours. If something happens to me, the world learns everything."Miguel nodded. "Good. At least we have that."We landed. Checked into separate hotels under different names and met at a predetermined location to review final plans."Raffles Hotel. Main lobby. 8 PM tonight," Miguel confirmed. "I'll be in the bar. Close enough to help. Far enough to stay hidden."Miguel looked at me. Really looked at me. "Are you ready for this?""No. But I'm doing it anyway.""Elena," He hesitated. "What are you hoping he'll say?"I thought about it. Honestly."I don't know. Maybe it was all a lie. That he was maintaining deep cover. That he's ready to extract now. That he" I stopped. "That he still loves me."I sat in a plush chair facing the en

Personal. The kind of gift you give someone you love.Day Six: They spent the entire weekend together. Saturday and Sunday. Completely off-grid. Just together.Day Seven: Monday morning. The final day. The deadline I'd given myself before releasing the data.Miguel's laptop pinged.New email. F

Being careful.Hour forty-eight: Wednesday morning. The extraction window was closing. I checked weapons. Reviewed contingency plans.Hour seventy-two: Thursday noon. The deadline.Nothing.No coordinates. No signal. No extraction.Just silence."Maybe he's delayed," Miguel said from his laptop. "Complications with the timeline.""He would have messaged. Warned us.""Not if he couldn't. Not if something went wrong.""Then check. Check everything. Tell me if he's been compromised."Miguel's fingers flew across the keyboard. "I'm monitoring Apex's internal systems. No alerts. No security breaches. No indication of compromise. If Adrien we
