Three

A hint of mockery flashed in the lady's eyes as she glared at Ella. She locks hands with Richard and places her head on his shoulder.

Ella was shocked to see Richard smile at her, but she was persistent and shrugged off the unhealthy thought that came to her mind. She makes herself believe the lady might be Richard's relative.

Ella covers her face with a smile. “Hi”

Before she could finish, the beautiful young lady ignored her and called out to a maid. “I don't love the color of those curtains, they are hideous and so is the couch. I want you to make a change instantly, and I'm pretty sure the same thing will be in the bedroom. I will be happy if you can change every single thing, and make remember to change it to the brand I like”

Ella watched as this so-called “guest” criticized every corner of her matrimonial home. The thought she had about her being Richard's younger sister fainted instantly, she only had that idea because she still trusted Richard. But now that the guest is getting out of line, she needs to step in.

She said bluntly, “Who are you? There is nothing wrong with those Curtain, after all, we aren't doing any renovation”

The lady scoffed loudly and stood in front of Ella. “You are too dumb to figure out things. Anyways, let me introduce myself. My name is Sophie Johnson, and right here with me is my fiance. Naturally, that means I cut the shot when it comes to the mansion affairs”

“You are Sophie Johnson?”

The name sounds familiar to Ella, after taking a close look at Sophie, she realized the reality. Sophie happens to be a famous actress who comes from a prestigious family, but how come she is here? Richard was her fiance?

Ella diverted her gaze to Richard and a trace of bitterness crept into her heart. “Are you truly her fiance?” it was no wonder that Richard had suddenly brought up their divorce, he had someone else already.

“I guess you are still dumb. There is no need to ask him unnecessary questions, he is my fiance and we are planning to get married. So stop being a nuisance and sign the divorce papers already!” Sophie yelps at Ella.

“Don't bother yourself, darling, I have my way of making her leave” Julianna said behind Sophie.

Sophie faces Julianna instantly, and points at Ella. “She has held onto this position for a year, now it's time to return it to the rightful owner” Sophie snarled.

“Of course, you are the rightful owner and she is going to leave in your stead” Julianna responded calmly.

Ella's heart shattered into pieces, she couldn't believe the woman she had trusted as her mother could turn her back on her. “I have always been a good wife to you, Mom. How could you do this to me?” Ella broke into tears.

“In case you don't know, I only care about you because I thought my son was in love with you. But now that he has seen a better companion, I need to support him as a mother. After all, she is more befitting than you, her father is a well-known business owner” Julianna mouthed with a disgusted look.

Ella stiffened. “You don't have the right to do this to me in my matrimonial home. Say something, Richard!”

Ella becomes confused with the whole scenario, he can't believe the man who once told her how much he loves her is now planning to get married to a famous actress. How can this happen to her dream marriage? The one she had with her first love!

“Stop making a mess out of this and sign the contract immediately. We need to move things quickly” Richard implied curtly with a cold face.

Ella got on her knees instantly, even though she had signed the divorce agreement but she was curious to know why all this happened to her marriage. “What have I done to deserve this? Just tell me where my wrong lies” Ella pleaded in tears.

“The only thing you did wrong is being poor. You are just a mere commoner. Ella, you aren't worth my standard” 

Richard's words stabbed Ella. She was about to talk when Sophie cut her off.

“I'm warning you now, do as I say or you feel pity for your mother”

Ella's expression turned cold. “Don't even think of tampering with my mother!” She snaps instantly.

“Then sign the divorce paper already”

“I've already signed it. So let my mother off the hook”  Ella stood up and staggered into the master bedroom in a daze. Even if Sophie hadn't dropped by, she could've left anyway.

Since she has signed the divorce agreement, there is no point in her staying there.

As Ella packed, she realized how few belongings she had. They weren't enough to fill a suitcase. She had been living her life in the mansion after her marriage, she had given up her publishing company to focus on her marriage with Richard. Now that she was in this mess, she had to go back to her company.

Ella returned downstairs with her suitcase, her heart skipped a beat when her eyes caught the test result. Hopefully, no one else noticed as they were busy chatting at the dining.

She quickly takes the result but someone stops her. It was Sophie.

“What did you take with you?” Sophie asks as she walks closer to Ella.

Ella clenched her fist around the pregnant result. “This is my private business”

“Private business? I bet you are trying to steal something expensive. Hand it over this moment” Sophie stepped forward to pry Ella's fist open.

Ella instinctively threw Sophie over her shoulder and the latter landed on her back. She wailed, “Ouch! My leg hurt”

“What the hell did you just do?”  At that moment, Richard's cold voice rang out. 

Ella wanted to say something but was cut off when a hard palm came across her face. She was slapped on
