Lucille’s POV

A scream tore from my throat as I threw the bouquet on the floor and ran down the aisle.

I heard whispers and voices calling my name, but I couldn't stop. Panic gripped me and tears filled my eyes.

"What is happening?" I whispered to myself, shaking uncontrollably. "I was dead."

My escape ended abruptly as I bumped into something hard. I whimpered, stumbling back before looking up and freezing.

Before me was Martin, my first husband, one of the wealthiest CEOs in the country.

"My, my...look who's running from her own wedding," I heard a familiar voice, and turned to see Kent, my second husband, an ambitious real estate mogul.

They were both staring at me with an unsettling intensity.

"Why are you..."

"You're looking hotter than ever," Martin whispered, trailing his fingertips on my bare shoulder.

I felt chills through my body, and stepped back, clearly uncomfortable.

They were at my wedding before, because they were invited by Brandon's rich parents who didn't know about my past marriages. This seemed like a cruel repetition. Everything was the same. Was this a second like? Was I twenty-five again?

Well, everything pointed to that.

"Why are you out here alone?" Kent demanded, suddenly pulling me to himself. "Were you so eager to see us?"

"Let me go!" I ripped his hand off my waist stepping back.

They weren't like this in my past wedding, why were they doing this?

"You aren't even with a bouquet. Don't tell me you ran away from your third husband?" Martin chuckled, his voice dark and charming as ever.

"None of your business!" I spat, glaring at him.

"Hmm... that means something is going on, isn't it?" He snarled, running his fingers on my skin again.

"Stop it!" I smacked his hand, but he simply flashed a smirk at me.

Kent was doing the same. What was going on with both of them?

"Lucille!!!" I heard my mother-in-law's yell.

I turned to see her and Brandon, along with my father-in-law, rushing out of the church.

"Why did you run out like that?" She questioned, her voice tinged with anger.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Brandon asked, reaching out to me.

I quickly stepped away, disgusted by him. He had abandoned me in my past life when I needed him the most. I wasn't going to fall for his tricks again. I was going to make him and Vanessa pay.

"Lucille, why are you acting—"

"I want a divorce," I spat, sharply interrupting him.

"What did you just say?" Brandon gasped, his eyes widening in shock.

"I want a divorce," I said, my tone biting.

"What are you saying? We just got married," He said, his voice laced with confusion.

"That doesn't matter," I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly. "I made a mistake, and I want to correct it. Let's end this charade."

I hated the fact that I had to have a second life as his wife. Why couldn't I be reborn at the point my mother was still alive? I would have protected her better.

"How can you call our marriage a mistake? We did so much to get to this point," He spat, anger creeping onto his voice. "Why are you trying to ruin our efforts? What is wrong with you?"

"There is nothing wrong with me," I argued. "I want a divorce, and that's final. Nothing you say will change my mind."

"We accepted you despite your forgotten status!" His mother spat, rebuking me like she always did. "How dare you disgrace us in this manner?"

"Well, you don't have to stoop low to my forgotten status anymore." I added, glaring at them. "I would rather die than spend another second with all of you."

"You're crazy," Brandon sneered.

"No, I'm not!" I snapped, irritation in my voice.

I was insane when I allowed myself to be fooled by him. Not again.

"You'll hear from my lawyer soon," I muttered, and began walking away from there.

As Brandon attempted to follow me, I began running.

"Lucille, where are you going?" Brandon yelled, chasing after me. "Come back here, we are not done talking."

I could hear his loud footsteps, but I didn't stop. I ran faster and faster until I looked back, and didn't see him behind.

I slowed down, trying to catch my breath.

I glanced around for somewhere to sit, and I spotted a bench underneath a tree.

I released my dress, and walked exhaustedly to it. As I sat, the memories of the past suddenly flooded my mind.

"Liam..." I muttered, fresh tears welling in my eyes.

My little baby wasn't in this life, and I wouldn't have him again. I wouldn't be able to see my lovely boy.

I suddenly wish that I had this chance when he was born. I just wanted to hold him again and hear him call me, Mommy.

"My baby," I sobbed, my chest tightening in pain. He was the only one I wanted to see so badly and tell him how much I loved him.

"God." I cried, my voice faltering with emotions. "How am I going to move on from here?"

"My family wants nothing to do with me," I choked out through a sob. "They hate me. I have no one to turn to. have nothing to truly call my own."

At this time, I was dependent on Brandon for almost everything. I trusted him like a complete fool.

“Damn him!” I spat.

“Look who's here?” I heard a familiar voice, taunting and sharper than ever.

I turned to it's direction and saw Vanessa approaching me. She had on the same white gown she wore in my past life. She was always trying to steal attention from me.

“Aren't you ashamed of yourself for sitting here in the open after running out of the church like a little brat?” She mocked.

Her voice made my skin crawl, every part of me urged to rip her to shreds. The memories of how she killed me made me angrier with each word that escaped her lips.

“You should go hide in shame for your behavior—”

“Shut up!” I snapped, cutting her off. “I'm happy that the wedding isn't holding. I don't have to sleep with that bastard. You can have him to yourself like you've had the others…my leftovers.”

My words stung her. Her face paled, and she grew angry.

“Leftovers?” She gasped.

I should kill her, but I had to remain calm and plan my revenge. Just as she ruined my life, I would make her life miserable bit by bit.

“Isn't that what you're always after?” I affronted, letting out a mocking laugh.

I wiped away my tears, and stood up to her. She looked taken aback because I had hardly challenged her before.

“All you do is pick up the dirt in my life, and that dirt called Brandon, you can have him to yourself,” I spat, my voice dripping with venom. “You're so pathetic…always the second choice.”

I saw her fists clench and her teeth grit.

“Shut up,” She said, her voice trembling.

“You're always the other choice…no…you're never a choice, but somehow you use your disgusting body to get what you want,” I insulted, looking at her with disgust in my eyes.

“That's all they want you for. This is all you can offer —”

She raised her hand to slap me, but my words made her hand freeze in the air.

“Touch me, and I'll make you regret it,” I said, hatefully. “I'll be back to destroy you, piece of trash.”

“Vanessa, I'll give your life a purpose…” I paused. “...called misery. You'll pay for everything you did to me.”

Unable to stand her face any longer, I walked away. She was going to pay dearly for killing my poor mother, Liam and taking everything important to me. She would regret it.

Tears streamed down my face as I vowed deep in my heart to make her pay dearly for every one of her crimes.

"Where should I go now?" I suddenly asked myself, glancing at the other side of the road. "Maybe I should just sit in that library..."

As I attempted crossing the road, I heard the loud screeching of a car. Darting my gaze at the speeding car, I beheld Vanessa inside with a wicked grin.

Before I could get away and save myself, the cold metal of the car slammed into my body.

Lucille’s POV“What did he say to you?” I asked, nervously shifting in the car passenger seat while Martin held the wheel with a hardened gaze. His brows were furrowed, worry etched in his eyes, a rare expression to see on his face. After Lucas had talked to Martin privately, they both came back looking disgruntled and even Father couldn't fathom what went wrong. The dinner went stale and we decided to leave earlier than we should have. I knew my brother must have done something vile again. But Martin’s silence was killing me. “If you don’t want to say something then I am going to confront that bastard, myself!” I declared, seething. My hand found the door knob and I opened the door harshly. However, he was quick to stop me, “No, Lucille. Wait!” The wary look in his eyes caused me to draw back, to realize this was much more. “I don’t want you being before him. Until the moment we bring him down, you will never go before him.” Martin’s voice was hard with a hint of warning. But h

Lucille’s POVA few seconds passed, and Martin didn't say a word. His hungry gaze stared down at me, different things I couldn't fathom going on in his mind. For a moment, I thought he didn't want it anymore, but his gaze said otherwise. “Martin–”My mouth clamped shut when he gathered my hands in his and led me toward the bed. Slowly, he sat down, bringing me over on his thighs. “I want to take you slowly, cherish you...” He whispered a reminder that he wanted to be gentle with me. Not wild or crazy. It was our first time in years and I understood perfectly. “Do as you wish…”As my words bounced through the room, he held me tighter, his fingers caressed the side of my waist making me squirm and move deeper into his arms. “Kiss me…” His whisper compelled me to sit straight and as I found his lips, a spark flew through my body. I succumbed, his lip in mine and mine in his. The warmth that spread over mine moved me to go deeper, tasting the sweetness he had to offer. It was slow, a

Lucille’s POVI couldn't help the blush that spread across my face as I let Martin sniff me and kiss my neck continuously. Deep down, I was also contemplating my answer to his question. “I need an answer, wifey…” He groaned, embracing me even tighter. “Wifey?” I chuckled, my blush reddening the more. “What? You like it when I call you that?” He smirked, looking at me with a proud gaze and I nodded immediately. “I just can’t believe we are back together, so fast and so suddenly…” I said, with a small tone filled with happiness. I imagined how much joy and happy family I lost in my past life because my brother and former friend decided to sabotage me. Maybe this was why I was given another chance at life. The universe wanted me to be happy again. “Let’s go home, Martin.” I chuckled. “We can have the fun we need back at home, uninterrupted.”“Alright.” He nodded. “Let’s pack up first.”He let go of me after a long minute of several kisses, all over my face and body. Lucille’s POVI halted, taking a deep breath to calm myself. Martin also helped me by squeezing my hand, rendering me the courage I needed. “Lucas…” I smiled, my eyes going round and I left Martin’s side and jumped straight into his arms. I embraced him even though he never expected me to do that. I never knew that I could pull off such a fake smile and fake excitement. I guessed desperate times called for desperate measures. “You left with father without a word,” I whined, looking at him with a displeased gaze. “Are you upset?” He asked, his face morphed with confusion.“Of course! How do you feel if you wake up one morning and your family is nowhere to be seen?” I snickered, still putting on a wronged expression. I took a step away from him and folded my hands on my chest. “You have to apologize to me!” I demanded. He raised his brows, looking from me to Martin and then back to me. “Is that why you got together with him? I thought I warned you against him?” Lucas asked, not c

  • My Ex-husbands Want Me Back   Welcome, Sister

Lucille’s POVI went silent, surprised that he would outrightly ask me to divorce Martin. He looked at me, sternly and for the first time in a long while, I was subdued of my father’s gaze. I could oppose or accept his command because he kept my gaze locked. Until my savior came...“I am afraid, sir. We can’t get divorced.” Martin spoke up and then held me by my waist, squeezing it to bring me back to my senses. “Yes, father.” I nodded, quickly while blinking. “I can’t divorce Martin. He means a lot to me–”“Are you seriously going back to him who cheated on you and sent you away? Lucille, I didn't raise you to be this low!” Lucian King banged his fists on the table, startling me and I flinched. However, Martin didn't move. He was steady and calm as always and he intervened. “Are you against our marriage because I am a member of the Luther family, or is it because you think I cheated on Lucille?” Martin asked. My father had to pick a side.“Both.” He groaned. “How could I let my d

  • My Ex-husbands Want Me Back   Divorce Him

Lucille’s POV“My father?” I gasped, shooting up to my feet. Martin willingly let go of me this time, and I grabbed my phone from Kent. Of course, there were a total of 50 missed calls from my father and also Lucas. They never called my phone this much in my entire life. “They must have seen the news...” Kent spoke up as I stared at my phone, scrolling through the messages. They were both demanding my location and I wondered if they were back home. In the background, Kent had put on the large television in the bedroom and the voice of the news anchor echoed in my ears. “NEW CHAIRMAN OF LUTH GROUP, MARTIN LUTHER WITH HIS WIFE, LUCILLE KING WERE INTRODUCED TO THE PUBLIC AND THE SHAREHOLDERS LAST NIGHT…”“Tone it down…my father is calling again…” I waved my hand, and then placed it on my chest. My heart beat rapidly as I watched the phone ring. What would my father say? Would he be disappointed in me? “You don’t have to be scared.” Kent held my waist and slowly pulled me to himsel
