MasukOliver
I could barely register in my head the time that we finally slept. All I knew was that I haven’t felt the warmth of a woman for so long and she was my remedy to calm down the nerves wreck havocking in my system.
I knew I had crossed the line by sleeping with my best friend’s wife but I couldn’t hold myself back the moment she walked in to my space, breathing the same air as she looked at me with those bedroom eyes, that stripped me the last bit of my control.
I saw an opportunity and I grabbed it selfishly. I wasn’t going to turn a blind eye on her when she’d presented herself in front of me to claim.
I smiled devilishly “Whatever I want I get.”
From the very first day I laid my sight on her, I fell hard for her. I was just a bystander scheming for a moment alone with her. Now, she’s never getting away from me.
After sleeping in my bed, she is not allowed to look at another man, not even my best friend.
She tightened her gripped around my chest and muttered sleepily “I feel so sore. What the hell happened to me at night?”
I must have been too much for her to handle. Her body was covered with marks everywhere. I ravished her until she almost fainted. When I was finally done, she was barely conscious.
I took my shower and dressed up. Then I sat waiting for her to wake up. I have so many plans for her and the last thing on my mind was Jeff. He could go to hell for all I care.
He’d treated her like dirt under his feet and played with her life like a freaking game.
Finally, her eyes opened. She lifted her head towards me shyly.
“Oliver, you’re still here. I thought that you would be gone by now.” she muttered self deprecatively. In her mind, she had already accepted the fact that I was going to abandon her and that we were only a one-night stand.
“Get dressed. We need to talk. “I instructed and she complied. She presented a calm demeanor, her expression distance and cold. Somehow, I didn’t like it that she was guarded towards me like her sworn enemy, but I couldn’t blame her either.
All I ever did was show her hate. She probably thought that I’ll start humiliating her.
She cleared her voice, her eyes looking anywhere but mine “Oliver, this was a mistake. Let’s forget that it ever happened just like we had agreed. We owe each other nothing, okay. It wouldn’t be good for both of our reputations if this goes out in the public eyes.”
“I don’t take instructions from other people, not even you. I make the rules. Whatever we agreed on is void and null. Now, you’re going to do as I say if you don’t want problems with me.” I stated sternly and she lifted her face to look at me.
“What do you mean by that? We had a moment of weakness. I’m not proud of betraying my sacred vows and I can’t be the reason why you two are going to be on each other’s throats. Believe me, Jeff is just a volcano waiting to erupt in to a hot mess. “She stated decisively.
I creased my face, jaws tightening impatiently. “Whatever, here is what you’re going to do. I’ll give you time to divorce Jeff and then you’ll become my woman. If not, I’ll send him the intimate photos of us. it’s your choice.”
Her face turned pale as she stared daggers at me “Was this your plan all along? To threaten me and make me be your mistress? I am still married!”
She let out a sarcastic laugh” Oh…I am such a fool!”
I cocked my brows at her words “You’ re right. I used you and you fell for it. You have no option but to do as I say.”
“Why the hell would you do that to me? Oliver, you hate me! You can’t stand my sight. The two of us is a match made in hell.” I was at my wits end. I had lost my mind like a fucking mad woman and I belonged in the fucking asylum.
“I don’t even know what came over me to involve myself in this treacherous action. I’m sorry but I am not doing this with you. I am not that kind of a woman who sleeps around with men but this ends here, okay. “
I creased my face impatiently “Well, whoever sleeps with me, stays with me. I do not care whether you are my friend’s wife or not.”
Just then her phone rang, she looked at it with an ugly frown on her face before picking it up.
“Where the fuck are you? “Jeff ‘s angry voice came over the phone and I felt like grabbing the phone and breaking it in to little pieces.
“Tell him that you are busy, damn it “ I growled and she stared daggers at me .
“Who the hell is that? Is that a man’s voice? “Jeff became irritated as he asked.
“It’s none of your business “She replied.
“Are you cheating on me, you bitch? Get your ass back home right away. You better have a very good explanation why you spent a night out without my permission. Are you not ashamed of yourself? “He continued yelling as Jasmine listened to him emotionlessly.
Jasmine rolled her eyes “Have you ever asked for my permission the countless times that you spent nights out with your friends or business associates? You have no right to patronize me. So, you better leave me alone “She fired back and I felt like laughing my guts out.
She was finally standing up for herself.
“If you dare spread your filthy legs to another man, I’ll kill the both of you. Mark my words “he yelled and then cut off the phone conversation.
I leaned down and planted a kiss on her lips “And remember that you are not my one-night stand. I’ll call you any time that I want and if you fail to come, I’ll spill the beans about our affair. Let’s see if he won’t send you packing.”
I had to use every means possible to get her away from Jeff. It killed me inside that she was going back to him the same way it has been tormenting me all those years she’s been playing a perfect wife. I couldn’t bear the thought of him touching her or even kissing her.
Jasmine. The moment I heard his name, a cold shiver ran straight into my system. I already ignored his calls and I knew he was a volcano waiting to erupt.Well, I didn’t want chaos in my mother’s room, more than they already were.My face turned to look at the exit, as if he would appear any moment. I felt suffocated and not even Oliver’s presence would calm my raging emotions.“I need some air “I started to fan my face with my fingers but even so I still felt light headed, not because I feared Jeff but because I didn’t want to deal with him.The mere thought of him chilled my blood.“Jasmine …” his voice sounded cautious but controlled, as if he only needed to pass a message “You need to sit down.” he said it like it was an order and not a request.Somehow, I complied.Cassie steered me to the couch a
JasmineMy face brightened as I watched my mother being wheeled back in to her room. I tagged along. She was awake but still weak. It must be the drugs. I comfort myself.“Sweetie….” She called, her voice hoarse and I felt my heart slamming on my chest as I scanned her face.“Mum, you’re awake? “I asked and my mouth curved in to a smile without even realizing it . Just the thought of seeing her alive was enough for me.“I thought, I’d never see you again, sweetie “she whispered, her voice barely audible. “But I made it. I have a new heart.” Her hands twitched as if she wanted to lift it but it was still weak. So, it fell back at her side, still and limb. Relief faded from my mind, replaced by unexplainable unease but I couldn’t show it. I was her strength now.“Mum, I won’t leave your side “I paused “Together we’ll overcome this, okay.”I was still talking when sleep crept in to her eyes like a thief. I produced a small smile as I lowered my hands and covered her well. My heart d
Jasmine The waiting room felt so cold, just like my heart. Even the time seemed to be moving backwards. Every time I looked at the clock, I only felt sick with worry. My blood froze thinking that someone was cutting open my mother’s heart .Will my mother really make it? Cassie sat close by, eyes focused on the operating room as if she is afraid that something was going to happen. She’s my anchor and seeing her expression crashed me, in ways that I couldn’t describe.“Don’t worry, she’ll make it “she reassured “There is hope… “ I gave out a small chuckle, tears stinging my eyes.“I don’t know what I’ll do if something happens to her” I blinked, looking for something that will push me to hold on. “Nothing will happen to her” Cassie mumbled gently “She’s got the best doctors working on her “ I nodded my head as my gaze remained, unwavering on the door still blinking with the “operation on” sign. My hands were folded tightly on my lap. It was as if they had been instructed to stay
Jasmine The sounds echoed back on my ears. Without Oliver, a deep hollowness consumed my body that I didn’t know how to explain. He’d made things easier and bearable. I stretched my body on the couch to relax while l waited for my mother to be taken for her surgery. The door creaked and someone entered inside. At first, I thought that it was the doctor but then my smile softened when her face registered in my mind. Cassie, radiant as ever was standing in the middle of the room. She didn’t scowl or yell at me. I just watched her face and I knew it.“Jasmine … you look like hell” she frowned and I gave her a shaky smile. My mother’s surgery matters more than my look.“Cassie, it’s a hospital, I don’t need to look good. Anyway, I have good news “My face blushed as Oliver’s Image raced in my head. Cassie raised an eyebrow.“Jas….is there something you’re hiding? “she paused, searched my eyes before continuing “There is something different about you today. Tell me ….” Her curiosity p
Jasmine In the morning, sunlight seeped through the curtains. The sharp rays blinded my eyes as I searched for him, that man that made my heart flutter.“You’re awake ….” His voice pierced through my ears, soft and melodious as I tried to sit up, a sudden calmness washing over me. I had almost expected him to leave the moment sleep stole my consciousness.I hummed ….and looked around nervously. Still, strong stench of antiseptic filled my nose as I dragged my heavy legs towards my mother. I fixed her sheets as I looked at her sleeping peacefully, as if nothing in the world is wrong. But I couldn’t get this feeling in my heart that something was off.Oliver still stood with his hands in his pocket, his sharp stare directed on my back. I felt it no matter how bad I wanted to avoid him. It burned on my skin like a hot pan.The nurse soon walked in, a document in her hand. I looked up, questions in my eyes. Last night, before I went to bed, there were a lot unresolved issue. Was she
Jasmine As my mother drifted to sleep yet again, I couldn’t help but feel lonely. I needed her to stay awake, to look at me. I stood up and sat at the corner, listening to the faint voices, hurried footsteps and distance ambulance sirens, that wouldn’t get out of my subconscious mind. Then the nurse walked in with a stack of papers in her hands. No one needed to tell me what she wanted. It was already clear as water, money.“Jasmine, I need you to fill in the forms. They are for your mother’s emergency surgery “she stated, passing Oliver a curious look. I’ve been dealing with her ever since my mother was admitted and I guess, she didn’t expect me to be accompanied my someone.I saw the surprise in her eyes, but she didn’t say anything.Oliver made the room feel small, even to me.“Of course ….” I swallowed hard, reached out and grabbed the papers. I have been doing it so many times. I had even mustered the exact words in every line.“And you can settle your account with the rece
