CHAPTER 60

"I need you tell you something." He said, and my brows furrowed as I racked my brain on what it could be.

"Did something happen? Is something wrong?"

"No, no. Just...just listen please."

There was a pained look on his face. I could detect it in his voice as well, but I nodded.

"So you know...we, um..." He cleared his throat. "We'd only known each other only a few months back in New York when I realized I couldn't live without you Peach. You showed up that very day. The very day I saw you and I just knew you were mine."

My lips widened in a half smile, but for some reason I was really anxious. I found his hands and held them between us. "Relax, baby." I murmured, "you're shaking."

He smiled softly, letting in a deep breath before exhaling softly. "If had known..." He continued. "If I had known you were the same girl arranged for me. If I had known it was you all along, I wouldn't have hesitated in claiming you for myself. I wouldn't have hesitated in making you my wife."

  • My Fiance's Brother    65. Big Decisions?

Chapter 65Olivia;For a few seconds, I couldn’t breathe. Kimberly’s bare body was pressed against his, her arms wound around his neck, her head thrown back in pleasure. And Marcus, who had his face buried in her chest with his hands on either sides of her waist, was guiding her up and down his cock— both of them completely lost in each other.I froze at the spot. I didn’t even know what I was supposed to feel. Anger? Pain? Betrayal? I was just… numb. Watching them. Absorbing the sight like a wound I’d been expecting all along. And strangely, there was a sort of relief in that moment. Maybe because I’d been waiting for something to finally break. Maybe because I needed to see this, so I wouldn’t keep feeling guilty for my own choices. Still, it was bizarre — Marcus doing this, with his stepsister of all people.“Liv?”It was Marcus. His voice broke through the fog. I blinked, realizing he was staring at me now, wide-eyed and frozen. Kimberly turned too, shock written all over her fac

  • My Fiance's Brother    64. A Caught

Chapter 64MARCUS;“Stop,” she whispered, pressing a finger to my lips. “Stop it.”"Why? Your mom is down there doing everything to make this wedding a success. We have been doing everything possible to ensure everything is in place for the big day. But what if all this is just a fruitless effort?""Can you just stop being so pessimistic? Come on, Marcus, give yourself a break. At least....""Can you not downplay my feelings about this. It's not a joke."She sighed, as she tangled her fingers in my hair. "I know. Just take it easy on yourself. You shouldn't be scared of Damon. Even if he plans to do anything of...that sort, he doesn't really have enough time for that. So relax, and leave the worrying to me."Somehow her voice soothed me a bit. She was staring directly into my eyes, which was fluttering as the sensations of her fingers in my hair was driving me crazy. Her breath brushed across my face as she whispered, "I should be the one most stressed about this wedding, you know?""

  • My Fiance's Brother    63. Impending Wedding 💍

Chapter 63After Damon left, I sat on the bed for a long time, staring at the door, completely lost in thought. My mind wouldn’t stop replaying everything he’d said, every look, every silence that had followed. Then I stood, unable to sit still any longer, and began pacing the room.I really needed to talk to someone — to let this heavy mess out of my head — but the only person I trusted right now was Grandma. And I didn’t want to trouble her anymore. She’d done enough already.I feel guilty. The thought came out like a confession I couldn’t swallow. But should I?The proposal had caught me completely off guard, but I’d tried to be honest, careful, gentle even — not wanting to hurt him. Yet somehow, I’d ended up doing exactly that.I sighed, rubbing my arms as if I could ease the unease crawling under my skin. He’ll come around, I told myself. He will. But the words didn’t sound convincing anymore. The longer I stood there, the heavier the silence felt — thick and suffocating. Before

  • My Fiance's Brother    62. Four Days!!!

DAMON;An hour later, I took the last sip of the chicken soup she’d made. The warmth filled my chest, though the ache beneath it still lingered. She sat beside me, watching quietly, and then reached for a napkin to wipe the corner of my mouth.I sighed and took it from her. “I’m no longer a kid, Mother.”“I know.” She smiled, her eyes soft. “You’re still my baby boy. I can’t believe how much you’ve grown.”There was tensed silence for a while as I watched her absentmindedly tracing her fingers along the rim of her cup. I stared back at the finished bowl of soup before me, suddenly realizing how much I've really missed her.It felt like everything went downhill ever since she left. “You still love her, don’t you?”I stared at her. “i never stopped.”The period between the time she opened that front door to this moment still felt like a blur. In my need for her comfort, I'd spilled. Telling her everything. My mother and I had a very close knit relationship, but I'd harbored a--what I

  • My Fiance's Brother    61. Always a "But"

DAMON;I stepped out the door on shaky legs. And a very heavy heart. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe this was too fast for her.But the glaring truth in front of me wasn’t hard to miss. She wasn’t certain.I dared myself to take that bold step. Maybe I was too confident of what I thought we had. Of what I thought we've been able to restore back. It was pretty obvious she’d entertained the idea of being with me, but never truly accepted it. She said she loved me — but love and trust weren’t the same thing.I dragged a hand through my hair and leaned against the wall outside her door, letting out a bitter chuckle. My chest burned, every breath cutting like glass.I pushed off the wall and walked down the hall, each step heavier than the last. My thoughts were everywhere — her face, her hesitation, the way her eyes softened when she said she loved me but followed it with a “but.”There was always a but.I didn’t blame her entirely. After what happened with Marcus, she had every reason
