CHAPTER THREE ~I can see you

CHAPTER THREE

I can see you

STEVANO INTERNATIONAL, NYC | USA. At 09:15 AM.

"Have you found it?"

Alby walked with long strides into the Stefano building complete with a cell phone to his ear. The gray suit on his body was so seductive to the touch, wrapping his tough body muscles from under the shirt. The patterned tie that hangs around his neck matches the silver Rolex that wraps around his left wrist.

Every now and then there were several employees who greeted him, while the others just looked down as soon as Alby passed them. His irises glowed, looking cold until his aura of authority radiated even more clearly.

"I got nothing. Where did you actually meet that woman? What a hassle." someone grumbled on the other end of the line.

"I'm asking you to find out, not asking me."

"Her history doesn't even exist at all. It's blank. I thought you'd remember people wrong if you didn't find a photo in one of her friends' accounts."

After successfully making Alby curious, the woman who did not know her name just disappeared. No trace, and no sign. Unlucky! Who is that woman actually? Managed to mess with his mind and the woman was nowhere to be found. Or was he on purpose? So as not to be sued?

Well, even though Alby didn't intend to do that either. He was purely curious out of curiosity, not to compensate.

Via Logan Hywell. Alby told him to find the woman in the nightclub immediately. Until now even Logan had trouble getting the data. Hywell enterprises holdings is the largest and most trusted data company in New York. But even then, why was that piece of information on the woman completely nowhere to be found?

Alby never thought that finding out the figure of a woman seemed to be so troublesome. And, if even Logan had a hard time, he probably wasn't an ordinary person.

"Three days. I don't want to know how you got it." click.

Alby disconnected the call unilaterally without receiving a rebuttal. Firm and arrogant. That's the figure of an Albyazka. And in retrospect... This was the first time he had taken action to find a woman.

Huh, since when did Alby care about women other than his family? Very not him.

"How about a replacement?" Alby asked a loyal person standing behind him without even turning to look at him.

Jean Thompson as Alby's right hand looked down briefly. "We have selected several, maybe today we will negotiate."

"Bring the data to my room. I'll make my own choices."

Jean's brow furrowed. "Sorry?"

"You heard it, Jean." Alby walked in as soon as Jean opened the door to his room. Alby's sturdy back looked very dignified when he reached his oversized chair. Alby really looks like a lord lion. Strong and tough.

Jean still faithfully stood firmly in place, looking doubtful. "Sorry if I'm being presumptuous, sir. Why do you insist on choosing it yourself? You don't have to take action just on this matter."

Suddenly, Jean's question stopped Alby's activities. The man looked away for a moment, resting his chin between the knots of his fingers. "Last time, I was disappointed with your choices. What I need is a secretary, not a flirt."

Looking back at a few months after the change of secretary, Alby was annoyed with his coquettishness, complete with the lack of materials used by the former secretary to work. Alby is still normal but he is very disciplined when it comes to work. Alby is a person who is not easy to touch even, tends to avoid female creatures other than his family.

"Forgive us, sir."

Alby waved his hand before then went back to reading the files in his hand. "Forget it, it's past after all."

"Have you seen the proposal documents sent by the Lau group, sir?"

Alby's eyebrow rose. "About building a resort in Barcelona?"

"That's right. I sent you the contract you wanted and they agreed to it." Jean explained to the point, uncomplicated.

Alby just nodded his head. His gaze did not move, continuing to read the files in his hands in turn.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

"Arrange an open meeting with the Lau group. One week at the latest. And—Wait...."

Alby's words hung, making Jean immediately look up.

"Is something wrong, sir?"

Alby was still silent while flipping through the files he was holding. His gaze was focused—looking serious. Slowly his smile rose. More like a grin. Seeing that Jean blinked twice.

I even almost forgot the last time I saw the young master's smile. Say it in your heart.

A map lifted to the top. "This?" asked Alby to be sure.

"Data of job applicants. Yesterday before I went home I put it there."

"Here,"

Then, Jean rushed over to him. He stood right next to Alby's chair stealing glances at the file Alby was looking at. Fortunately, at the same time Alby handed the file to him so that Jean no longer had to peek.

"Call him to start work tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?" repeated Jean.

"What is wrong? Is there a problem?"

Jean shook her head slowly, flashing a polite smile. "I'll call him right away." he replied then resigned.

"Jean?" call Alby.

Jean stopped. He turned and asked. "Yes?"

"Make sure you get it tomorrow."

"Yes, Sir."

 ***

Alessia's eyebrows rose. Staring at Arabella asked. "Failed, huh?"

Arabella nodded her head for a moment to make the atmosphere quiet. His gaunt face looked sluggish, seemed unenthusiastic. "What can I do? Mommy isn't feeling well. I have no reason to refuse Daddy's invitation."

Velove grabbed his phone while sipping his americano ice. "Only a day back. It's no big deal." he said in a relaxed tone of voice, as if it was right to say it was no big deal. Well, they'd been hanging out a lot and drinking together, of course just going back in time wasn't something to bother.

"Me, no problem." Keira didn't care.

"And I wanted to dance until morning." he complained.

Arabella groaned as a smack landed perfectly on her forehead. His eyes glared at Keira who in return with an innocent grin.

"Until morning? Bullshit! At best you'd rather go after a handsome, rich man you could date." Keira pouted, causing Arabella to laugh in her place.

"One week without changing men she'll feel ugly the next day." Alessia added, which made the whole table laugh.

Again, wherever they are, their presence always steals the attention of other visitors. Their warm demeanor makes those around you feel how close they are. They mocked each other until they exposed each other's disgrace, threw compliments and curses into small debates. Everything they do at one time when gathered together.

Nothing has changed. Not then or now. Everything is still the same even though it has entered the adult phase.

Is not the meaning of a togetherness is like this? Not an association that is only limited to meeting and then busying themselves with gadgets.

Arabella smiled arrogantly, glancing at Keira mockingly. "At least I really had fun. Not like you," he sneered.

Light laughter filled the table again. Keira raised her middle finger while cursing softly. "Fuck you, Ara."

Uknow is calling...

Alessia's one eyebrow raised, she grabbed her phone and put it next to her ear after sliding the green button.

"Hi...."

"With Miss Alessia Mikhayla?" said a deep voice from the other end of the line.

Alessia shrugged as Girls Knight's curious gazes turned to her. "Yes, it is me." he answered in a calm voice.

"I am a representative from STEVANO International, I would like to inform you of the good news regarding the job application you have submitted. You have been accepted and requested to bring other complete data tomorrow morning."

Alessia's wide smile stretched. His blue eyes gleamed with joy. It immediately spurred their curiosity again. He looked at her with a probing gaze. "Really? That fast? Fine, I'll bring it tomorrow. Thank you." he said ending the call.

Alessia put the phone on the table while maintaining a smile on her lips. A glow of excitement filled his face, it was obvious that he was in a happy state.

"Who?"

"What's wrong with you?" Keira and Arabella asked at the same time.

While his two friends were busy throwing questions. Velove himself looks indifferent—don't care and just silently listens while playing games on his cellphone.

"Yeah, he's definitely on a new bounty. Otherwise there's no way—"

"No." Alessia interrupted quickly. His excited tone still sounded like that of a child who had just gotten a new toy. "It's not that this time. I've been thrifty the last few days."

One of Keira's eyebrows rose. "And you feel proud?"

"Of course," Alessia snorted. Feeling displeased and sneering back at Keira slowly. "That's a new record I can achieve."

"Okay, I'm lazy to argue with you. So, what makes you smile apart from your branded collection?"

Alessia looked at them alternately, then stopped at Arabella. "I've called the business card you gave me." He said with a smile still on it.

Oh, this...

Arabella put her glass back on the table. "Well, then you're definitely welcome, don't you think?"

"Sure. Who can refuse me anyway?" arrogant.

"If it weren't for me, you could be poor in the near future." Arabella's cynical glance was evident. "Don't be arrogant in front of me." he said sneering.

Alessia's smile was still imprinted. Ignoring Arabella's sneer by returning to answer with her songong tone. "I'm arrogant because there are things I can brag about, Ara. Then, what's the problem?"

Arabella waved her hand nonchalantly. "Whatever. You can do whatever you like. I don't care." Arabella snorted in annoyance.

Alessia just chuckled softly while drinking her own drink. Meanwhile, Velove, who had finished with the game on his cellphone, turned his attention to Alessia.

"I feel happy to hear that too. But, until when are you going to keep running, Ale?"

Immediately Alessia turned to Velove who was watching her closely. His smile turned into a line. His face was even, emotionless. However, really… The question that Velove asked could make Alessia froze on the spot.

"It's been more than a year, you didn't think you would continue to dodge, did you?" asked Velove again.

Keira and Arabella prefer to be silent, listening. Among them, it was Velove who was the most understanding. Everything he said was somehow always right and could make them lost for words at times like this. And it had been a long time in fact, it had been a long time since they had known each other.

Mom in the gang. The nickname felt very fitting for him.

"I don't know, Vee. This situation got me used to it."

Vellove's gaze softened. He smiled, seeming to understand even though he insisted on asking Alessia to mend her relationship with the family. "You're not running away forever, Ale. You can go back and have a good talk about it."

"It won't be good if we talk, Vee. They need to be awakened. And I won't give up until the end." he insisted.

Velove himself just nodded his head as if he understood. No intention of interfering in Alessia's personal life or even forcing Alessia to make a decision. Not after he himself also felt how it felt to be forced by choices and circumstances.

Complicated and confusing at the same time.

Anyone will be easy to give advice when we get into trouble. Can suddenly become a wise adviser to others but rarely can apply it to himself.

Arabella looked at Alessia while supporting her cheeks and said, "you guys are just as stubborn. I can't even guess who will ask first." he replied. They are all aware and know what their nature is like. If Alessia is a stubborn person, her family will definitely be tougher. As the saying goes the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

Alessia gave a nonchalant glance, disinterested. "Surely it wasn't me."

"Really confident," Keira pouted, making Alessia squint.

"I'll prove it. After all, I've survived this far, there's nothing to think about."

silence. Instantly the atmosphere suddenly heavy just from mentioning it again. Something that Alessia had been avoiding for a long time. As far as family is concerned, it will certainly make anyone reluctant to discuss if not something fun and can be proud of. It is not like that?

"When are you going to start work?"

Arabella's voice broke the silence. At least, it helped a little to thaw the atmosphere that was suddenly congested.

Alessia took another sip of her drink and then answered, "tomorrow,"

"What about the Girls Knights?"

"What how?" Alessia supported one cheek while stirring her Matcha tea. "I need more income to cover my expenses, Kei." He said asking for understanding.

"Then, how about we get a mission while you're already working elsewhere?"

"It's nothing," Alessia's smile appeared. He took a slow breath. "Me getting a new job doesn't mean leaving you guys. Just a sideline, like Ara. You know? I need more money for my needs while we are off on missions. And of course, I can still manage my time well."

"Not shopping for just one week he considers it fasting." Velove sneered, shook his head slowly as Alessia hit him playfully. "He'll probably be a mummy when he can see without being able to buy it. His soul will burn."

Then, boisterous laughter filled the table again. Sometimes being with Girls Knight is more reproach than motivation. It sucks, but they still care about each other.

"Don't forget the fashion show in Los Angeles next month." Arabella added making Alessia let out a long sigh.

True, that was his big target in the hunt for new collectibles. It was only a matter of counting down or he would completely miss the opportunity. For that, Alessia needs a lot of money to support her wishes.

It seems, Alessia is more like being controlled by her passion and high socialite ego. Even so, Alessia didn't feel sorry at all.

"Well, stop pissing me off. The point is I wouldn't leave Girls Knight even if I had a job. Is that clear?"

They exchanged glances before answering in unison. "Not."

"Damn it!"
