Elijah's POV

'be careful what you wish for', that voice had been taunting me ever since I watched that CCTV footage

I knew that I wished for a distraction so that the shopping will be canceled, but not this kind of distraction, I would shop for hours unending than have my Grandma kidnapped

yeah, you heard right kidnapped!!! the kidnappers obviously don't know who they are messing with and they are so going to regret ever being born if they lay a finger on her

"sir are you listening" came the voice of the mall owner beside me, his face pleading and fearful

of course once he heard that one of the country most influential men had his Grandma kidnapped at his mall, he had come running from wherever he was to beg, pacify and promise me my grandma safety, after all if something bad were to happen to her, his business will suffer for it

"Mr Carter, i promise you your Grandma will be found and all will be well, i have informed the police and they are already working on it Sir"

I turned to him face filled with anger "why are there no security men at the entrance of the mall, what kind nonsense is that, aren't you supposed to be a top class mall" i paused for a second watching his terrified face "if anything happens to my Grandma I'l make sure you pay for it" with that said i walked out of there, a raging storm building inside me

I knew that i was preaching double standards now, cursing at the owner of the mall about having no security men while I myself had none, but in my defense I stopped having security men ever since that horrible incident that had traumatized my sixteen year old self

'so your traumatic past is more important than you and your Grandma's safety right' My sarcastic subconsciousness mocked me, and though I swore never to have any guards again I'm starting to have second thoughts ever since what happened few minutes ago

I called the police commissioner of the state, Sergeant Klara and she assured me that her team are working on it immediately, and i drove over to the station where they were and went straight to her office

"I know this isn't a good time so I'll just skip the greetings, I've gotten the statement of the teenage boy that was in the scene and the only information we could get from him was those robbers came out of no where and put a sedated handkerchief on her nose then dragged Mrs Carter out of there with her wheel chair and since there were no security he had tried help but only got beaten by them"

"Argh" I yelled out in anger and worry, Grandma is in so much danger right now and it is partly my fault, if anything should happen to her i won't even forgive myself, my mind started to fill itself with dangerous possibilities of what could happen to her fueling my anxiety, i was at the edge of losing mind when I felt a tap on my shoulder

"Don't worry the team is working on it right now and I'm sure in less than a hour she will be found" Sergeant Klara assured me and though that did nothing to calm me at least it held back alarming thoughts and I felt sure she is going to be found

Sergeant Klara and I were in the same grade back then in high School before i got homeschooled and i was sure of her prowess in the job, that's why she was made commissioner of police in the state, her skills were unmatched so if anyone could find my Grandma its her

Having that in mind, i waited patiently for her to tell me the news that she had been found, i paced anxiously at the back of the room watching them do their job, a search team had been set out to look for her, while the rest searched for her location through their high tech devices

i looked at my watch for the umpteenth time, it had been thirty minutes, i was about to rant my frustration to Klara again when a young looking man came in

"Madam, a young lady just called, she said that an old woman was kidnapped by four robbers and was taken to an old alley, but she claims all is well now and the old woman needs to be taken to her family" he said In just a breath

Klara looked at me, "I'm not sure but i think that is your grandmother" she turned to the young man "Ryan, what is the location of the alley"

"she said it was close to Lincoln bus stop, but i wonder how was she able to deal with the robbers, maybe its a prank" Ryan said with a confused face

Hope was brewing inside of me and I didn't want to any doubt whatsoever, "how do you know that it is a prank huh," i faced Ryan "do your job and don't make conclusions, send a rescue team to the area check if its true before making conclusions"

Ryan looked remorseful "I didn't mean it that way sir" I was about to reply but Klara but in "its true Ryan don't make conclusions like that and Mr Carter you can't just tell my team what to do, train for six years, and become a sergeant then you can give orders"

I gave her a face that screamed 'really'

she faced her people back putting on a serious expression "just like he said, you all should send a rescue team to the area, tell the technical department to search for a CCTV footage of the time, Mrs Carter got missing till now at the alley" immediately she said that the whole team got to work

she looked at with a smile on her face, "give me twenty more minutes, your grandma will be with you"

true to her word twenty minutes later i had my grandma In my arms, she had been beaten up a little and felt a little weak but overall she was fine, i could tell she was fine cause she was her usual chatty self, i couldn't be more relieved

I walked up to Klara who was still working, "thank you so much sergeant Klara, you are an amazing sergeant, and our state is lucky to have you"

she rolled her eyes "oh please enough with the hype, im just doing my job, oh i forgot to tell you, the robbers had been put on hospital arrest, i promise once they get better they will be properly punished"

I smiled at her "ok then see you later" with that I left and drove over to the hospital to get her wounds cleaned, once i was there i couldn't help but think about the mysterious girl that had saved my grandma

we had all watched the footage and what we saw was shocking to most of us

Ryan had called her an angel, that it was impossible for a teenage girl to beat up four boys, to which Klara had smacked his head, and told him that girls could do anything, she was impressed and said if she could find her then she would love for her to join the team cause she had skills

even my grandma hadn't stop blabbing about her to me all day Violet this, Violet that,

funny her name was Violet, I once knew of a bad ass Violet who could fight, she has helped me long ago I wish i could see her again

The doctor had finished with her and we were about to leave not before he collected my autograph,

typical🙄

we left the hospital to hear shouts of people across the road, i turned to see a a young gorgeous girl dressed in denim jeans and a white shirt, her hair was long and curly, her skin was caramel and smooth, though i couldn't see her face, i could tell she looks lovely

she was running towards me, apparently she had been in the middle of the road and running away from a speeding truck, and in a blink of an eye she crashed on top of me making us fall to the ground

"argh" i heard her say and i looked up "are you okay" i asked

then the most alluring pair of familiar brown eyes looked up at me, i was speechless for a sometime, while my brain reminded me, instantly i knew who It was
