Chapter Thirteen (Part One)

(Cara's POV)

Just like me, he started with light questions, though I doubted I had anything interesting in my life—nothing mysterious, just my boring self.

"How old are you?"

"Twenty three"

He smirked and said, "You don't look that big for your age."

"How old do I look?"

"Nineteen, but from your 'story', I knew you were a bit older."

"Well, it's not my fault; I don't grow as big as wolves."

The questions went on easy; I had nothing exciting, yet he listened like there was something entertaining in each of my answers.

"I don't see you as a girl who likes to party."

"Yes, I don't."

"Then why were you at the bar?"

"I came with Sophia; she thought finding me a man to have a fling with would help me stop thinking about my breakup."

"No wonder you seemed uncomfortable... but I guess I wasn't up to the standards, seeing as I only managed to scare you off."

"No, it was overwhelming. Too overwhelming."

"And I guess that's a bad thing?"

"Not really, just that moment. I was sure I heard you grow
