You are mine

“Where do you live and what family do you come from?” Lory's father asked me as they sat on the sofa and I knelt in front of them with both arms raised. I slowly looked up at Lory because I didn't know what to answer to her father because I didn't remember anything about my real identity, so she turned to her father.

“Actually, dad, we both met in another country. In which country did we first meet? It was almost a long time ago because I can hardly remember.” She said with a forced smile on her lips even though the truth is that we are both nervous and afraid of her parents, especially to her father who is looking at me intently.

“I think you're covering him up because he doesn't come from an elegant family, maybe he's just the son of a street vendor or cheap food around here or perhaps your father is a farmer? Don't you have your own land, mansion or big businesses?” her mother asked me, so I turned my gaze to her and I turn to Lory again with a trace of fear on my face because I didn't know what to answer them. Perhaps it's better if we just tell them the truth that I don't remember anything and I don't know where I came from, nor do I know my real name.

“It doesn't matter if he's not rich or what family he comes from, right? What matters is that we love each other.” Lory stammered, so her parents both turned to her.

“Love? Can you hear yourself, honey? Weren't you the one who told me before that the love thing isn't real?” said her mother, while still raising one eyebrow and laughing at what she said. Because of that, Lory's head turned and did not immediately respond to what her mother said.

“That's right, I said that before. But since I met Markus, everything suddenly changed. I realized that soulmates, destiny and first love are real.” After she said that, I looked up at her and suddenly, my heart beat faster. I was mesmerized by her while she was talking, but I couldn't hear every word she said because my attention was only focused on her red lips, where I suddenly remembered her kissing me. Therefore, I kept touching my lips as I stared at her. It seems that her father noticed me, so she suddenly threw a pillow at my face causing me to wake up to my senses and I slapped myself because I wrongly fantasized about her in front of her parents.

“If that's the case, our conversation is over. Your marriage to Gilbert is still going on. Whether you want to or not, you two are still getting married.” Her father said as she stood up and was about to leave, but Lory immediately stopped him and held his hand, causing her father to turn to her. But because he was cruel, he pushed her hand away, and his expression on his face was still serious and scary.

“If you're going to marry me to Gil, what about Markus? He's my legal husband. I can't have two husbands.” She said that her father turn to me at the same time, but I immediately looked away from him and just turned my head while I was still kneeling.

“You two are still married, but only on paper. No one can find out about your marriage and if anyone finds out about it, I will kill them without hesitation or any excuses, do you understand?” His threat shocked us. After he said that, he turned and left with both of his fists clenched. Even with his back turned, I can see his strict and cruel personality. I don't understand why I feel sorry for Lory because she had such parents like them. I can't fully imagine her childhood memories, and I'm certain that everything was not easy for her when she had a cruel father who was ready to stain his hands with blood just for the future of his daughter. He doesn't care how his daughter will feel or if she will be hurt by his decisions because the only thing that matters to him is the dignity of their family and their businesses. She doesn't even have an ally in this house, and even her own mother doesn't care about her. I don't even see in her mother's face that she cares about her daughter feelings, but only thinks about their own greedy. Therefore, I kept thinking about what kind of family I have or if they are just like Lory's parents, so I lost my memory and ended up in an unfamiliar place?

After her parents left, Lory just sat on the sofa, and then she took a deep breath and placed her hand on her forehead as if she were troubled by what was happening to her. I slowly stood up and quietly sat next to her.

“Why don't we just tell them the truth? That I really don't remember anything about my true self. Maybe they will understand me and perhaps change their view of me, what do you think?” when I said that, she turned to me with a frown, and it seemed that she was not agreed with what I suggested to her.

“Are you crazy? If we tell them the truth, they will definitely kick you out of here, and they will only force me to marry that man even more.” She replied with a trace of anger on her face. Since she also mentioned about the man her parents wanted her to marry, I suddenly wondered why she didn't seem to like that man or why she seemed to hate him so much? Have they known each other for a long time, or maybe he did something big to her, that's why she doesn't like him that way?

“By the way, may I know why you don't want to marry him? What's his name again? G-Gilbert? That's what your father used to called him earlier.” I asked, she sighed and put her hand on the sofa where she accidentally put her hand on mine, so I turned around and was surprised.

“Gil used to be my boyfriend, and he's one of the people I hate besides my parents.” She replied, and I immediately looked at her face with a trace of surprise on my face.

Ex-boyfriend? If that's the case, I'm right that they both have a past, that's why she's so angry with him. But why do I feel this way? Why do I feel a strange pain from my heart? Why don't I like the idea that man is her ex-boyfriend, and it's like I want to stop her from marrying him?

What is happening to you? Don't say you have special feelings for her? Impossible. You can't fall in love with her. It's the fault of her lips and kissing me, that's why I'm like this now.

“What are you thinking there?” I suddenly looked up at Lory and only then did I realize that I was touching my lips again, so I immediately lowered my hand and looked away from her.

“What are we going to do now? It looks like we can't stop your parents from getting married to that man.” I said, and she seemed shocked by the tone of my voice, so she smiled. “What's funny with what I said?” I added as I turned to her, and she suddenly brought her face closer to me, which I did not expect. Therefore, we met each other's eyes and I swallowed deeply when I felt a strong nervous from my chest. Since we are so close to each other, I can already feel her heavy breathing and suddenly, my eyes drop to her lips while she is smiling at me as if she insulted me.

“Are you jealous?” She said which shocked me even more, so I suddenly got goosebumps which made her laugh. Because of that, I saw more closely her beautiful smile on her lips as well as her twinkling eyes like stars in the sky.

While she was laughing, my face remained serious as I stared at her. I don't want to miss these moments and I want to always remember her beautiful smiles, especially the way she stared at me.

“If I say yes, I'm jealous, will you be mad at me?” when I said that, she suddenly stopped and her smiles disappeared. Her face became serious, and she was just stunned by me. “Don't say that I have no right to be jealous because I don't know my real name, but have you forgotten? I am your legal husband, and you are my wife.” I added that it shocked her even more, so she was silent for a moment and just stared at me.

You are crazy. What do you think you are saying to her? Don't be so confident to yourself because you are just a pitiful guy who have no memories in her eyes. You are such a pity, dumb guy. I said in my mind as I stared at her with a short smile in my lips.
