Saturday arrived with clear skies.

The rain from earlier in the week was gone, leaving the orchard bright and fresh.

Jax and Jimmy finished the last stretch of the north fence before lunch.

It felt good to finally step back and look at the work.

"It's done," Jimmy said, brushing the dust from his hands.

Jax nodded.

"About time."

Lily-Rose came outside carrying sandwiches and three cold bottles of water.

"You've both earned a break."

Jimmy smiled as he accepted a bottle.

"You're keeping us alive

Jimmy’s truck pulled up just after seven.Jax heard it from the kitchen. He set the dish towel down and looked at Lily-Rose. She was standing by the table, arms loosely crossed, waiting. Neither of them spoke. They simply walked to the front door together.Jimmy stepped out of the truck and closed the door quietly. He didn’t smile the way he usually did. He looked at both of them for a second, then nodded once.“You said we needed to talk.”“Yeah,” Jax answered. “Come in.”They went inside. Lily-Rose closed the door behind them. The living room felt smaller than usual. Jimmy sat on the edge of the couch. Jax took the chair across from him. Lily-Rose stayed standing for a moment before she sat on the arm of Jax’s chair. No one rushed.Jimmy rested his elbows on his knees.“This about Emma?”“No,” Jax said. “Emma’s good. She’s settled. That’s not why I asked you here.”Jimmy waited.Jax glanced at Lily-Rose. She gave him a small nod.He looked back at his friend.“When Emma came into ou

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    What We Put Away

Friday morning the sky stayed gray.Jax and Jimmy finished the last stretch of the north fence before noon. The work was steady, almost automatic. They spoke only about the posts and the wire. Safe subjects.Lily-Rose brought coffee out around eleven. She stayed only a few minutes. Long enough for Jimmy to thank her. Long enough for Jax to notice how her eyes moved between the two of them before she walked back to the house. After Jimmy left that afternoon, the farmhouse felt quieter than it had all week.Emma called just after four. She talked about a new friend at school and asked if she could sleep over next weekend. Jax said yes without hesitation. When the call ended he stood in the living room holding the silent phone.Lily-Rose came in from the kitchen, drying her hands.“She wants another weekend already?”“Yeah.”“That’s good.”“It is.”He set the phone down.Lily-Rose watched him for a moment.“You’ve been quiet today.”Jax gave a short nod.“Just thinking.”She waited. He d

Thursday morning started the same as the ones before it.Jax and Jimmy worked the north side of the orchard. The ground had finally dried enough to dig without the shovels sticking. Lily-Rose stayed inside most of the morning, catching up on paperwork she had ignored for weeks.Emma called just after lunch.“I got an A on my drawing,” she said.Jax smiled into the phone.“Proud of you.”“Can I bring it next time?”“Of course. We’ll put it on the fridge.”When the call ended, he stood in the kitchen for a moment longer than necessary, staring at the blank space on the refrigerator door.Lily-Rose noticed from the table.“She’s going to fill that whole thing,” she said.“I hope she does.”The afternoon stayed quiet.Around four, Lily-Rose went upstairs to clear out the hall closet. Boxes of old clothes, winter coats, and forgotten papers had been shoved there during the months when everything else felt more important. She pulled one box down and carried it into the bedroom.Jax found he

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    Ordinary Days

The days that followed settled into a strange kind of normal.Emma called every other evening. Some days the calls lasted only a few minutes. Other days she talked about school, a drawing she had finished, or asked whether the chickens still remembered her.Jax always answered. He always reminded her that the swing was waiting.Little by little, the fear in her voice faded.Between those calls, life at the farmhouse found its rhythm again.Monday morning, Jax and Jimmy spent hours repairing the south fence. The ground was still soft from the rain, and by noon both men were covered in mud.Lily-Rose brought sandwiches and cold water. She sat on the tailgate of Jimmy’s truck while they ate.Jimmy told another one of his old stories, and for the first time in weeks, Jax laughed without forcing it.It felt good.Simple.Almost normal.Tuesday passed much the same. The orchard needed attention. The chickens escaped twice. Jimmy complained that the fence had a mind of its own.Emma called t

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    After Goodbye

The farmhouse felt different the morning after Emma left. Not empty.Just quieter.Jax stood at the kitchen sink with a mug of coffee that had already gone cold in his hands. Outside, the orchard was still wet from the overnight rain. Water dripped steadily from the leaves onto the grass. He watched it for a long time without really seeing it.Lily-Rose came in barefoot, wearing one of his old shirts. She didn’t speak at first. She just moved around him, pouring her own coffee, the soft sound of the pot the only noise in the room.“She texted,” Lily-Rose said after a while. “Got home safe. Said she already misses the swing.”Jax gave a small nod.“Good.”That was all. They had said the important things yesterday. The hugs, the promises of next weekend, the careful goodbyes. There was nothing left to add.Jimmy’s truck rolled up the gravel drive a little before nine. He came through the back door the way he always did — no knock, boots already half-off, a paper bag of fresh rolls in on
