*ALORA* Towards evening of that day, I was at the back of the orphanage home, I had helped with washing the bedsheets and I was currently lining them up. “Hey.”I looked sideways to see Lorenzo walking up to me with his jacket and tie on his arm.I grinned. “The boys finally released you.”He sighed, nodding. “I’d not forgive you for making them take me away.” He said, playfully.I laughed. “But you had fun.”He rolled his eyes, not admitting to it but I knew he did. He set his jacket aside and helped me in lining the sheets. “You’re like this big sister to them. It seems you always come here. I didn’t find out this part about you when I investigated you.” “This is something dear and extremely private for me. It is what I always did with my mom. She and I always visited different orphanages every month, she didn’t want people praising her for it or thinking she was doing it for publicity sake so we just kept it private.” He beamed at me. “Then I’d dona
*ALORA* It was a day before the company’s retreat and it happened to fall on the time of the month when I usually visited the orphanage home. It was something my mom and I always did. I grew up watching her visit different orphanage homes in all twelve months of the year. When I was about six or seven, I do not remember the age exactly but she would take me along with her and I really liked going with her. I liked visiting and gifting these children. It became something my mom and I really loved doing and when she passed, I continued doing so. Doing this felt like I was keeping her memory alive and it also made me feel connected to her in a way. I missed her so much. “Miss Alora!” The children ran up to hug me at once as soon as I got there.I hugged every one of them and then assisted the staff in bringing the gifts, including a lot of groceries that I had brought. “Miss Alora, I’ve been waiting for you to come over.” I smiled seeing five years
“How could you? You were obviously aware that Alora was Don Lorenzo’s woman yet you told me to set her up! You had to make me offend Don Lorenzo’s woman, now my whole life is ruined. I am meant to live in hiding now as if I killed someone.” And that was Sofia weeping on the phone to Lucia as she packed up her things into a luggage. Her flight was already booked. She had to leave the country because she wasn’t ready to die at all.Everyone knew not to cross Don Lorenzo. And since she had done so, she had to run for her dear life. Lucia, who was at the other end of the call was in total disbelief of what she was hearing. “No…no. Alora can’t be Don Lorenzo’s woman! She is not his woman!” Lucia barked.Sofia sniffed. “I noticed something between them before but I also didn’t want to believe. From the day Don Lorenzo stepped into Ford Group, the way he speaks to Alora was different from the way he speaks to other people. He could be yelling at other people but his voice w
*ALORA* Almost ten minutes after I texted Lorenzo, I saw Sofia sit up in her chair, looking shockingly pale as if she had seen a ghost. I followed her gaze and saw that she was staring at the man who had just walked into the restaurant.I smiled. It was Don Lorenzo. He was dressed in all black, black suit pants, black inner sleeves and a black knee-length jacket. He looked around the restaurant and then he caught sight of me. “He…he…is coming…” I turned to see Sofia literally panicking. That was satisfying to watch and I wanted her to panic even more. She should have just talked to me when she had the chance. “Sorry for being late, there was a bit of traffic.” Lorenzo said as he got closer to me. “It’s no problem, Mi Amor (My love)”I purred, standing up and taking hold of his hand. I wasn’t the type to act all cutesy or talk in a babyish voice but right now, I wanted to act so all over him. This would absolutely make Sofia lose her mind
*ALORA* On my way home that day, I sent Sofia a text, telling her to meet up with me but she didn’t reply to my message.********* I was at my office the following day, staring at the message that Sofia didn’t respond to.It was showing “seen” But I was still determined to meet up with her. An idea struck me and so I sent another message.Me: If you meet up with me this evening. I’ll try to talk to Don Lorenzo to give you your job back. This was just a bait for her to meet up with me. I wasn’t going to talk to Lorenzo about employing her back though. I wasn’t as forgiving as that. “We’re going camping!” Laura cheered walking in. “The results are out?” I asked, we had voted this morning for what we wanted the employees’ trip to be. “Yes. I voted for camping and that is why I’m so happy. It’s going to be fun being in the wild.” She added.I had even forgotten what I voted for. I just randomly voted because I was cool with anything. And
*LORENZO* A knock sounded on my door thirty minutes after I sent Diego to the control room.I lifted up my head to see him walking in. “The control team just informed me that the CCTV was faulty this morning.”I frowned. “Also, I went through the footage from last night. Miss Ramos and her assistant seemingly worked into the late hours. No one else was at her office last night.”I rubbed my temple. “So the only suspect now is her assistant. Where are the guys from the control room?”Diego turned to face the door. “Come in.” As the five men walked into my office, I stood up from my chair and strode closer to them. “Diego tells me that you do not have any surveillance footage of the company for this morning. The CCTV is supposed to be working 24/7, all five of you were supposed to make sure of that, I do not care about any unpredicted technical issues it developed this morning, someone has to pay for this and so you all will. You all are fired and I’l
