Larissa

I stayed quiet, while he spoke to the receptionist about the room and the necessary details. Once everything was settled, we headed for the elevator.

In the elevator, the tension between us was so palpable that I could literally feel it pulse in the air. He didn’t even take his eyes off me for one freaking second. And as much as it flattered me, it also made me uncomfortable. I mean, even when I held his gaze he didn’t stop.

“I’d appreciate it, if you’d stop staring at me like you want to eat me or something.” I said tucking the strands I’d left out of my messy bun behind my ear.

“Oh but I do.” He pushed himself off the metal walls he’d been leaning on and began walking towards me with slow and deliberate steps. “And no one can blame me really. You are one beautiful woman.” He breathed the words out, tilting my chin up with a gentle touch. “Your husband must be running mad to not want you all to himself.”

I had told about Zephan since he asked about my relationship status during our chats, and I didn’t really see any point in lying, so I told him the truth.

“Mmm.” I tipped one shoulder up, pairing it with an eye-roll I didn’t bother to hide. “His loss.”

His gaze flicked down to my mouth. “His loss, indeed.”

Then without a warning, he leaned in, capturing my mouth in a fierce, smoldering kiss that stole the breath straight out of my lungs.

I reacted almost immediately, moaning into the kiss as I slipped my fingers into his hair—and yes, they did feel as soft as they looked.

His hand travelled down to my waist, slipping beneath my coat before groping my ass and the warmth of him pressed against me made my head spin. And don’t even get me started on his scent.

We were lost in each other, lips locked and pulses racing, when the elevator ding shattered the moment. We jerked apart, breathless and I immediately shot him a glare for being so impatient and starting things here in the elevator when we could’ve waited till we got to the hotel room.

And to make it even worse, three people were waiting on the other side when the elevator doors slid open. I didn’t need a mirror to tell me that my hair was a mess, and from the red stains on Harl’s lips, my lipstick was just as ruined.

One of them, a brunette, stared at us before trying and failing to hide her smile. Heat rushed to my cheeks, and I didn’t even bother looking at the other two before brushing past them, and Harl followed after me.

“They must think we're a couple.” I heard him say beside me.

“Oh, shut up.”

We walked down the hall in silence, the tension between us still crackling. Harl reached the door first and held it open for me, his smirk making my pulse skip.

“After you,” he said, and I stepped inside, my body practically buzzing from the proximity, and every nerve screaming for more.

The hotel room looked cozy and quite spacious, but I barely registered it. I had other important things on my mind.

“Do you want anything?” He asked, closing the door as I took off my coat and giving him a proper view of my dress and my bare legs. It was a bit cold tonight and I didn’t want to take any chances, that’s why I had worn it in the first place.

Harl faltered for a second, his eyes lingering on my legs before continuing with an amused look on his face now. “There’s nothing here but wine and I could order room service but it’d take a while before—”

I didn’t wait for him to finish. As a matter of fact, my brain had checked out entirely. “Just shut up and kiss me.” I said, pulling his head towards mine and crashing my lips against his.

Thank God for these heels, if not, I’d be standing on my toes right now.

“Oh?” He murmured against my lips. “Desperate much?”

Except for the little bite I gave his lips I didn’t answer him. I knew he was only baiting me and I wouldn’t let it work.

He answered my bite with a low sound in his throat, then kissed me so fiercely it felt like the room tilted. Suddenly I was moving, and before I could even process it or wonder where I was moving to, my back hit a wall, taking the breath right out of me.

“Are you sure you don’t want anything?” He breathed, trailing kisses down my neck.

“I’m paying you to fuck me Harl. Not ask about my fucking well-being.” I said, my voice thin and my tone sharper than I planned.

I could feel his laugh against my skin and it went straight to my whole body making it impossible to think. “Well sorry if I’m being a gentleman, but since that’s what you want...”

Before I could process what was happening, my heels left the ground, and I gasped at the sudden shift.

“I never gave you permission to carry me.”

He didn’t answer until he dropped me on the bed, running his hand up my side. “Well, do you give me permission to take off your dress?”

I couldn’t stop the smile tugging at my lips as I lifted a brow, “Do you even know how to take off dresses like these?”

“Oh trust me darling, I know.” He smirked, reaching for my neck, and in a flash my dress was off.

“Hmm. Nice skills. It takes my husband about a minute to do that.”

His fingers trailed up my middle, sending jolts of electricity through me, before palming my bare breasts as I didn’t wear a bra. “I guess I’m just better than your husband.”

I stared up at him, my eyes dropping to his smeared lips. I didn’t think he could be any hotter. “I’ll be the judge of that—”

He didn’t even wait for me to finish before closing his lips around mine and drawing a moan out of me.

Gosh, I was already soaking wet, and it didn’t even help that all he did was graze my hard nipples with his rough fingers.

Letting out a sound of disapproval, I reached for his hands moving it breast down to where it was urgently needed.

A quiet chuckle vibrated against my mouth as he pulled away. “I was getting to that.”

“Well get to it, moron.”

“As you wish, darling.” He drawled, getting on his knees. His eyes then trailed over my body as he peppered kisses down my center. “You have a very beautiful body, Larissa.”

That was the second time he was calling me by my name tonight. And I had to admit I did like hearing it.

Suddenly, he slipped two fingers beneath my panties, taking me by surprise and stealing my breath. From the look on his face, I expected him to say something about my soaked panties as he slid them off my legs. But instead he pressed his lips to my thighs whispering, “Forgive me but your husband is a very foolish man.”

I tried to think of a reply. I really did. But he was busy circling his thumb around my pulsing clit, which made it impossibly hard to think.

“I had no idea I’d done such a good job at getting you ready for me.” His voice was thick with lust, like he was holding himself back as he pumped his fingers in and out of me.

“Oh hush.” The words were barely a whisper.

A whimper of disapproval escaped my throat when I felt the absence of his fingers and I looked down only to find him staring up at me as he grabbed my thighs—hands anchoring me in place as he leaned in closing his mouth around my swollen pussy. And I wasn’t prepared at all for the sensation that followed.

“Oh fuck.” I cursed as he sucked on my clit—his tongue lapping on my juices like it was the last drop of sweetness, and he was insatiable.

My head tilted back as my body tightened in response and I didn’t even realize when I had slipped my fingers into his hair, tugging on it as my toes curled in immense pleasure.

God, he really was better than Zephan.

It hasn’t even been up to a minute and I could already feel my orgasm building up.

Just then, he let out a small groan as he pulled away, his mouth glistening with my juices, “You taste just as sweet as you look, darling.”

I’d barely processed the words when I felt two fingers inside me again, moving relentlessly and not slowing down for a second.

“Mmm—oh God.” My eyes fluttered shut as sparks rippled through me and I didn’t think it could get any better until he paired his working hands with his fast tongue.

And before I knew it, I was jerking uncontrollably and coming all over his face.

The man really did know his craft.

Larissa’s Pov Three days later. Zephan kept to his words. He was always home before six. Making dinner plans, attentive. The things that I never knew he could be. He was. And then there was the intimate part. The fact that he wanted to touch me, wanted to do something more. But I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t brag myself to sleep with him. “Zephan,” I whispered, lowly pulling away from his touch. “Maybe we should…”He sighed. I expected him to flare up, but he didn’t. he just smiled, “Okay, I understand, it is fine,” he muttered. That was new. I was thinking that he would be the Zephan that I knew, the one that would scream his voice through the roof. “I am just happy that we are doing this, making us work again,” he said. I nodded. My mind wasn’t on him, it was back to the fact that last night I had a moment of weakness, and I had called Harl, sent a thousand messages and yet, he gave not

Larissa’s PovThere are things I have never seen with Zephan. Vulnerability, was one of them.“Why… what changed?” I asked, my heart squeezing loudly in my chest. He sighed, staring at me with a look that says eh is broken, “My mother…. She wasn’t the best, but she has… had people that cared, that will cry after her… and me…” he choked. “I feel like I have no one, just you,” he said in a soft tone.I didn’t know if I should laugh or actually pity him. The moment of epiphany must have really hit him hard, because staring at this man, the same one that said he didn’t care if I stood by him, wondering why suddenly he needed love from me.“What about the girls? The bunnies like you like to call them?” I asked. I wasn’t trying to kick him while he was down, but I knew that I needed to understand what was going through that head of his.His hand grabbed mine, his eyes watery as he stared at my face, “Larissa, please let’s make this work, we have to make this marriage work,” he said. “You a

Larissa’s Pov“We need to talk.” Words a thousand people hate hearing from a mile away. And yet, Zephan said it with so much calmness in his tone. The kind that I haven’t heard him speak in a long time. I tried to keep my mind from wandering, but there was nothing that could stop the thoughts, from the way he eyed me as if he was waiting for me to fall on my knees and tell him the truth. To the way he was silent, almost as if the weight of the words crushed him too. I gulped, my eyes taking in the meal before me. Did he know? If he did why was he happy to make me tea?My breath hitched, my eyes fixed on the cup and plates laid out before me. Was this laced with something? Was this his way of trying to poison me? Oh god, I could feel how fast my heart was beating, my hands trembling as I tried to move away from the plate.“Larissa?”“Larissa?”My eyes snapped back to reality, I found Zephan staring at me with a soft look on his face he looked slightly worried. “Are you okay?” he aske

The woman Harl had left me for was here.I stared at the reception, watching the way she smiled at the nurse, they all acted differently around her, as if they were vying for her attention, happy to be around her. She laughed, leaning in to say something to the nurse. Her head turned slowly to where I was standing, and the nurse followed her gaze, whispering something back as they laughed. My heart beat skipped, what were they saying?Does she know me?Questions; I had a thousand of them, but standing here and pondering wasn’t going to help“I can’t stand here,” I muttered to myself as I rushed through the revolving doors. Larissa’s PovI couldn’t move. I was sitting behind the steering wheel, my blurry vision still on Lennie’s house. She didn’t push me out. But her words did. Because after she screamed that I should leave, she walked away, leaving me standing in her kitchen like some forgotten trash. What have I done? The question ran through my mind a thousand times over. What the hell have I been doing all my life? Lennie is my best friend and yet, I never once saw that she was hurting. That she was looking for help from me.I didn’t see that. All that I cared about was my problems and how she was going to fix them. Fix me, lift me. Everything was about me and never about her.“Oh god! I called her wayward,” I sobbed. But this felt like an antidote to an already working poison. Larissa’s PovThere are times when you walk away. And there are times when you say the words that break more than just a thought.“All you do is sleep around with anything willing to jump inside you,” I sneered. Silence stretched between us.“Your kids aren’t spared that knowledge. You could at least try to be a good mom if you can’t maintain a wife position. Divorce isn’t some skin care routine! Some of us have other things to consider! What the hell is wrong with you!” My voice cracked.Lennie stared at me with wide eyes, her hands trembling as she looked on. And me? The words had gone through so fast that my brain couldn’t keep up.And when it did. I moved forward, my hands reaching out to grab her, “Lennie, I... I didn’t....”“You did,” her tone low and final.“No...I... I didn’t mean it I was just...”Her head snapped up, her eyes meeting my gaze. I could see the sadness, the hurt of someone betrayed by her friend.“Isn’t that what you think of me?”“No...no I would...”She le
