The entire place fell so silent one could hear a pin drop. “W-what are you talking about?” she demanded, fisting her dress while trying to act normal. I walked forward, standing right before her face and said, “You think I don’t know you were my dad’s mistress!” A glass shattered, and three voices all shouted at the same time. “What!” “Serena?” Nicolas called. “Are you sure you’re not mistaken? Serena POV Two days later, I finally turned on my phone. Just as expected, everything had blown up insanely. Media outlets and gossip shows were eating up the news and I couldn’t help but chuckle. My phone had almost 60 missed calls from Nicolas, a few from Alessia, and hundreds of messages I didn’t even bother to open. I walked towards the place I once thought was home, holding my shoulders up high as the movers followed behind me. “Welcome home, Mrs. Laurent,” maids greeted, but I brushed past them without a word. I could afford everything I had come to take, but they mostly belonged to my mom, and I couldn’t abandon the last of her I had. What I didn’t expect was the crowd gathered in the living room. Alessia sat at the breakfast table, her food untouched. All her life, her mom had always been the one to make her breakfast. This time, the maid had done it. If mommy was here now, she would make sure Alessia ate well and didn’t skip breakfast. After that, she would take her upstairs and brush her hair, dress her up in a beautiful princess’ dress and take her for a weekend walk to the park. Third Person’s POV Nicolas woke up the next morning with Celeste’s body pressed against his. He gazed down at her face as she slept. No matter how beautiful and exciting Celeste was, in his heart, the most beautiful woman was still Serena. She was gorgeous in every way, and for the past few weeks, Nicolas had been feeling a heavy tug in his chest every time he lied to her face just to go sleep with Celeste.
