As the two made themselves comfortable in Raees’s room that night, after the dinner had ended on a pretty morose mood with no one interested in taking the short journey back home, Raees and Reid opted to stay behind for the night.

“I’m sorry I didn’t remember a thing about your Mum.” Raees muttered as soon as the door closes behind them, “No one ever forgets things like that but I did.”

Reid smiled genuinely, a familiar twinkle in his eyes. “It’s absolutely not your fault, you were pretty young then, and you being here, with me,” He mutters, trailing her finger on her shoulder, “Is more than enough to make up for it.”

Raees laughed, getting momentarily distracted by his hand on her shoulder. “Do you think she’d agree with us being together? You and I?”

Reid laughed at her silly question. “She was probably happier than your mum when you agreed to be my girlfriend. You know, I am tempted to take you to visit her, maybe you two can have a little chat.”

Raees lowers her gaze, “I’d love to

  • Seducing My Husband's Arch-enemy!   Secretary in Heels

Cecelia stepped out of the elevator with her chin high, blazer pressed sharp against her shoulders, and her heels clicking smartly against the marble floor. Every step echoed down the hallway like a reminder that she’s not a secretary anymore, with all the greetings left and right. The plaque gleaming at the end of the hallway with her name imprinted on it was good proof as well. But, knowing this still did not alleviate the weight at the lower part of her stomach. She spotted Clara, her newly promoted secretary immediately, leaning back in her chair outside Cecelia’s office, long legs crossed, and her phone in hand as she tap-tap-tapped away on its screen. A lollipop stick jutted from the corner of her mouth like some kind of badge of honor.Clara didn’t bother to rise, she didn’t greet Cecelia either and neither did she even look up, it was just as though it was another random gust of breeze blowing past her.The two interns standing awkwardly nearby exchanged glances, shifting thei

She was leaning against the arm of the sofa, her red hair slightly tousled from him running his hands through it earlier, her arms wrapped around herself as if holding in the same storm of emotions that twisted inside him.“Gosh, staying away from you, being a gentleman can be quite draining.” He whispers as he went to stand by the large mantel, sneaking glances at her however.“I didn’t ask you to be a gentleman though. I want you too, so damn bad.”One of those glances, her eyes met his, soft and understanding, the kind of look that didn’t need words to convey everything they both felt.Reid didn’t hesitate. He closed the distance between them in two long strides, his hands finding her waist, pulling her up against him with a quiet desperation.Raees melted into him instantly, her arms sliding around his neck, her fingers threading into the short hair at the nape of his neck. She pressed her cheek to his chest, feeling the steady, familiar thump of his heart beneath her ear, the war

Dinner between the four of them had stretched to be longer than expected, plates pushed back, mostly empty, glasses half-full, and the scent of the cooking still hanging warmly in the air. For once, Reid didn’t feel like the silence in his home was waiting to swallow him whole. Tonight, the house actually felt… alive with these couple’s presence, bickering comfortably as though they are his parents.Melissa stacked the plates despite Raees trying to take them from her.“Don’t argue with me,” Melissa scolded lightly, wagging her finger. “You’re the guest in this kitchen today, Raees. Go sit with your man before I tell him you’re bullying me.”Raees laughed and threw her hands up. “Fine, fine Mum. But don’t let Dad see you carrying everything at once or he’ll give us all a lecture about proper back posture.”From the living room, Jacob’s voice carried in, gruff but amused. “I heard that. And I’m not wrong. You bend the wrong way one time and suddenly you’re walking like an old goat for

The morning after the anniversary dawned softer than the one before.Raees woke first late in the morning, stretching into the quiet and finding Reid still fast asleep beside her, his arm slung heavy across her waist. His face looked lighter somehow, the furrows in his brow softened by rest. She lay there for a brief moment, drinking in the rare sight of him looking so calm and at peace, before slipping out of bed, determined not to disturb him. By the time he finally stirred, stretching like he hadn’t in years, the smell of freshly brewed coffee had already filled the house.By the time he shuffled into the kitchen, hair rumpled, the scent of coffee filled the air. He met Raees pouring some into a cup then placing it into a small tray to bring for him in bed, he presumed.“Morning,” his voice rasped low and oddly very dreamily.“Morning,” Raees said, smiling as she holds up the mug. “Sleep okay?”He scratched his jaw. “Better than expected.” Then, after a pause, he continued, “Thanks

  • Seducing My Husband's Arch-enemy!   To Save, To Love.

The day of the anniversary rolled right around, faster than presumed, and for the past days, they’ve spent all the time they can with one another, being each other’s anchor. And as much as it’s been comforting and fun, it’s been bringing them only so much closer tan before. The cemetery was quiet that afternoon, the kind of quiet that pressed in around you, heavy and silent with the aura of the dead in the air.A low breeze moved through the trees, shaking loose the scent of damp earth and wet grass from the mild dew that morning. Raees clutched the small bouquet of white lilies she’d insisted on bringing, even though Reid hadn’t asked for them. He hadn’t said much at all, bottling up his feelings except for some small words. He must miss them so much.He walked right beside her in silence, his steps steady but slower than usual. She could tell he was dragging his feet, reluctant but determined, as if every step toward his parents’ resting place scraped old wounds raw. His hand found
