“Mom,” Jensen yelled, running into my arms. I knelt and hugged him tightly. Working all day had made me miss him so much.

“Sorry I came home late. How was your day?”

Jensen smiled sweetly. His little hands caressed my face. “My day was fun. Grandma picked me up, and I helped her cut vegetables.”

I smiled proudly at him and instantly felt something warm flow through my heart when he said he had a nice day. “I am proud of you. Let me introduce you to my boss and coworkers.”

First, I introduced him to Chris, then Mark, and finally Chloe. Then, the six of us sat down at the dining table, which wasn’t even that big.

I sat across from Chris, Jensen sat across from Chloe, and Mom sat across from Mark. Then, we started eating. However, since it was my first time eating in front of Chris, I spontaneously felt awkward and nervous. Chloe looked the same. Now and then, Chloe looked at me as if to say, “Are we dreaming?”
