Chapter Three

Lily:

"I want to go home." I blurted out without thinking, I know I shouldn't be saying that I was the one who declared myself as his. Call me a user, but I do not care, if you were in my shoes, you would do the same, if that is the only way to save yourself.

Adrian's face was covered with a strong scowl, and his eyes were reflecting pain. He was hurt.

I don't know the reason his eyes were portraying that but then I did not care, I wanted to go home, I did not want to be here among those dangerous creatures, there was no way I could live here, I do not know what him or his father is capable of doing, I have no idea where I am presently.

"Is this how you are? You used and discarded a toy when it's no longer important to you."

"I..." He raised his hand to stop me. Yet again I saw pain in his eyes, he was hurting and it seemed his heart was bleeding, he shut his eyes.

"Is that really what you want?" He asked and I nodded, I wanted to go home. Yet again his eyes flashed pain, but I averted my gaze as it was, I was feeling guilty and it broke my heart that he might be in pain because of my actions.

"Where should I bring you?" I stared at him confused, was he going to bring me home? Was he kidding?

"Are you going to bring me home?"

"If that is what you want, I will do it but If you choose to stay, I will..."

"No, I want to go, I do not want to stay here because I do not love..."

"Enough..." He raised his hand stopping me from spouting more nonsense, who say I do not feel anything for him, of course I do, but I am scared, while my heart is longing for a man that I have no idea who he is. What if he is dangerous, and even if he is not dangerous, what if he already had a mate? Judging from his father's words, I am sure, he used to have numerous partners and I do not want that kind of relationship, I just got out of one bad relationship and I am not going to enter another bad relationship.

I waited for him to teleport us to my address, the same way he teleported us there but I saw him grab a key on the table. What is he doing? Is he going to drive?

I got the urge to ask him but who am I to complain, I should just take whatever he had to offer provided he was going to bring me back home, he was not going to manipulate me or force me to stay when I didn't want to.

I sat in the passenger seat while he was sitting behind the wheel, none of us say a word to each other, we have been traveling for hours, and the fucking thing is, none of us is starting a conversation, the trip was boring and I am hating it, and to crown it, the rain had started pouring heavily and it's risky driving but he continues, I want to stop him but the rage in his eyes and the way his muscles are flinching and me, I am desperate to get away from his presence, I don't know what he is going to do to me, oh Lily stop acting like you are scared of what he will do to you when the fact that is present is affecting you. Suddenly his Tyres skidded in the rain and his car swiveled, he was driving at a high speed, making it difficult to catch the brake, when he suddenly slammed the brake, in a split instance his car came to a standstill and my body jolts forward, I shut my eyes to embrace what was coming forth but his hand went up to shield me.

"Goddess me, sorry, are you okay?"

He asked, with a worried expression on his face. My eyes were already shut and my fist clenched beside me, fear had taken over my system. I opened my eyes when I heard his voice, I tilted my head to him, and his expression was what visited my face.

I flinched and stiffened as my eyes moved to his hand that was embracing my chest, his touch was making me restless and my heart was beating fast, I gasped for air and then mastered all the strength, and the remaining sanity in me that I am holding in me from not jumping on him.

"Your hand"

His face darkened and he immediately let go of me, moving his hand from my chest. "You are not going to hold this against me because I try to save you again even when you are not mine. Are you?" His voice came up cold and deep, yet I could not believe that his cold voice was perfect, what is the goddess thinking bestowed him with all this perfection, isn't she unfair? His questions made me feel that I had been unfair to him

So this time I shook my head. "Of course not, you save me and I am not going to hold it against you." His head tilted to me and then moved back to the road.

"I think we should..."

"No, I need to get rid of you as fast as possible, since I still have my sanity..."

"But it's risky to drive when it's raining, let's just wait we will start when the rain stops."

"And it's risky to be here alone with..."

I interrupted him, "You are not going to hurt me right? You are keeping your promises aren't you?" He parted his lips to say something but then we heard a violent push from the back of the car and then a thud on the bonnet, even though his hand was fast on mine, that didn't stop my body from jolting in surprise.

And then there was an eerie silence. My gaze moved to him and then I was about to tilt my head towards the windscreens but before I could do that, he grabbed my head forcing me to look at him, I stared confused at him, "Don't be afraid, just stay mute and don't you dare peek, so you will have to shut your eyes and remain here." He wasn't staring at me, his eyes were at the windshield, while my eyes were on him, his look was dangerous and he was worried, I wondered what was going on, I wanted to follow his eyes but his voice came up again, "stop been stubborn, I told you not to peek" his voice was stern, I had no other option than to nod to him. I swallowed hard as the realization dawned on me that this was more dangerous than the former. How stupid could I be, get into two trouble in one night? 'Goddess me, please save me and if you were ever able to save me, I swear, I will stay away from boys.' I murmured in my head as fear gripped me.

"Now shut your eyes and don't open them till I ask you to." His voice where commanding and I involuntarily shut my eyes. "And your ears as well." He said before I could counter that, he had jumped out of the car, shutting the door behind me. Fearful growls filled my ears, sounds I didn't want to hear and see.

I shut my eyes and remained still as I listened to the sound coming from cracking bones. I didn't want to close my ears, I didn't want to shut myself completely from what was going on.  I heard the sound of fists thrown at people, were they fighting with their fists? I asked mentally and then I could hear cracking bones before I heard a loud growl, it's obvious they were shifting, and I shook my head in fear.

My throat became dry and my face got paler, as I heard the sound of loud growls and fellows howling in pain. The sound was coming closer and they were approaching the car, and with the sound I heard, it was like they were not just one, I guess they were rogues, if they were vampires, they would have recognized him from what I have heard about Rogues, they don't bow to anyone.

My heart began to thud as the murderous battle went on and my hand subconsciously flew to my ear, I covered them, and fall a second those tears I had been holding all night fell from my eyes and my body was trembling badly, and suddenly the door of my car, flew open, my eyes captured a dark creature standing at the door.

I let out a scream as I struggled to the driver's seat. The wolf was giving two different smells, that of a wolf and a vampire. He howled.
