DACIANA'S POV

Angry? No, I wasn't. I just stared at her like a little fool. Almost acting as if I didn't expect it when I knew it would come anyway. She wouldn't let me finish. No, she couldn't. When it would jeopardize everything she ever worked for. Everything she ever wanted.

“How dare you call me a maid?” She yelled at my face. Her face was red with anger, and the veins were showing themselves.

“Isn't that what you are? Or are you scared that I dug up the past you tried to bury all these years? I'm suddenly feeling pity for your stepdaughter. I heard she killed your child and ran away before execution. How unfortunate can one get in life?” I smiled.

She yelled and raised her hand again to slap me across the face. My eyes darkened. “I wouldn't do that if I were you.” That was enough to make her halt her hand in the hair.

I could have easily blocked it the first time, but if I ever have to touch this woman before me, it'll be me giving her so much pain that she'll wish for death,
