Louisa's POV

"But... It's still breathing! We should call someone for help!" I struggled and wanted to look back, but Lucas wouldn't let me. I couldn't see anything, because my head was covered by the hood.

"It's dying and it's suffering. It showed up at the wrong place, wrong time." Lucas' voice was detached.

Then, I heard a muffled bash sound, like some heavy object hitting someone's bones.

Desperately, I struggled to look back.

With a quick and sharp whimper, the wolf closed its eyes and stopped struggling.

Paul, the driver, was standing next to the wolf, with a big baseball bat in his hands.

Blood was dripping down from the bat.

"Did he... Did he just kill the wolf?!" I was completely horrified.

Lucas pulled me back and lifted me in his arms like a doll, walking off the scene as soon as possible.

"He... He killed that wolf! Why did he do that?! It was a majestic animal! It was still alive! He killed it!" I kept looking back and struggled in Lucas' arms.
