Synopsis

Tragic Love

Winning Back the Wife

Mistress

I've spent a huge sum of money on a custom-fitted gown just so I can go on a date with my fiance, Vincenzo Rossi, on New Year's Eve. He's also known as the rising star of the mafia underworld. But Vincenzo sounds very impatient on the other end of the line. "Can you stop being so clingy, Grazia? I have an important business gathering to get to on New Year's Eve!" His younger sister, Valentina Rossi, adds, "My brother's doing this for the sake of your shared future, Grazia. Stop causing trouble for him, okay?" I end the call, feeling disappointed. After that, I console myself, saying that Vincenzo is working very hard for the sake of our future. But that illusion only lasts till the moment my friend sends a video clip to me. Vincenzo can be seen hugging a gorgeous woman in the clubhouse. They are in the middle of making out with each other. Valentina, on the other hand, leads her friends on as they cheer for the couple. It turns out that Vincenzo's "important business" is to spend the night with another woman. I drain my glass of the strong alcohol. Scorching pain flares from my stomach immediately. Since Vincenzo can find himself a woman to toy with, then why can't I do the same? I swipe a finger across my phone and dial the number of the rival family's Don. "I want you to order the two most good-looking male escorts for me right now."

Chapter 1
"Give me 15 minutes. I'll be right downstairs."I hung up and walked into the dressing room. The gown I'd carefully custom-made for Vincenzo Rossi hung there quietly.I remembered when we'd ordered it. Vincenzo had waved it off, saying, "It's just New Year's Eve. No need to make such a big deal."At the time, I thought he was being considerate. Now I understood he'd found me a nuisance. The woman in the mirror had delicate features, but her eyes were hollow. The doorbell rang right on time. I opened the door to find two men standing tall outside, both in perfectly tailored black suits, their demeanor cold and professional."Good evening, Signorina Gatti."I nodded and stepped aside to let them in. "Give me five minutes."I walked into the makeup room and applied the brightest red lipstick I owned."Let's go."Once I'd settled into the spacious back seat, my phone buzzed. It was a message from Vincenzo's sister, Valentina Rossi."Grazia, Vincenzo is handling family business t

Chapter 2
I was at the bar playing dice games with a growing crowd of men.My companions, Alessandro and Angelo, circled me. Plenty of other men who thought themselves attractive enough grew bold, crowding around my table to offer themselves up.Round after round of dice clattered across the table. No matter what I rolled, they found ways to keep me entertained.Glass after glass went down.Valentina finally snapped. She stormed over, practically vibrating with fury and humiliation."Grazia! What the hell are you doing? Don't you have any shame? Who are these people?"I lifted my head and gave her a lazy look, then smiled. The smile didn't quite reach my eyes."What's wrong?"I threw her own message back at her, word for word. "Your brother gets to work hard out here for our future, but I can't?"I paused, my gaze sliding past her to Vincenzo, whose expression had gone dark as thunder. "Or is it that Vincenzo's future doesn't include me anymore?"Valentina's face flushed red, then whit

Chapter 3
When I got home, my phone was practically exploding. Missed calls and frantic messages from Vincenzo and Valentina flooded the screen.I put it on silent and tossed it into the corner of the couch like trash. I peeled off the gorgeous but freezing gown and changed into my most comfortable pajamas.I stood in front of the mirror and stared at myself. My makeup was gone, leaving behind my pale face and exhaustion pooling beneath my eyes.I was nothing like the young woman from five years ago. That person had been vibrant, her face always glowing with happiness.I stood there for a long time. Then tears came without warning and rolled down to my lips, their saltiness spreading across my tongue. For Vincenzo, I'd given up my chance to study abroad. I'd abandoned a promising career. I'd stayed in Emaly for him, carving out a little haven for us in a world of guns and smoke. For five whole years, I'd poured everything I had into becoming a Rossi. I thought I'd be his everything. But it

Faced with Vincenzo's contempt, I didn't argue. I looked at him quietly, like I was watching a clown perform.I turned and walked into the study. When I came back out, I was carrying a slim laptop.I sat down on the couch in front of him, opened the laptop, and clicked on an encrypted folder on the desktop."What kind of game are you playing now?" Vincenzo frowned impatiently.I slowly turned the laptop screen toward him. On the screen was the speech Vincenzo had delivered at last year's mafia family council meeting, his first as a Capo.Next to the speech sat another document. It was my original draft, covered in dense red markings and revisions. The fake smile on Vincenzo's face froze instantly. His eyes locked onto the screen.I clicked open the next file, my voice flat and emotionless."The restructuring plan that made your name and let you take over the entire south side territory. This is my first draft. It contained 12 core strategies for eliminating your rivals, and you

The next day, I opened my eyes to find sunlight flooding the bedroom. My phone vibrated relentlessly on the pillow beside me.Vincenzo's name flashed across the screen. I hit the red decline button and got up, heading toward the walk-in closet. The front door slammed open violently from outside. Vincenzo stormed in, bringing a wave of cold fury with him."Grazia! You've got some nerve, hanging up on me!"He glared at me, eyes bloodshot and chest heaving. I ignored his roaring and continued packing the last of my work clothes into my suitcase."How long are you going to keep this up? I'm willing to let last night slide, so don't push it."Vincenzo blocked my path, his tone commanding and his brow furrowed tight. "As long as you get on your knees right now and apologize, I'll pretend you never mentioned breaking up."I stopped what I was doing and looked straight into those arrogant eyes of his. "Vincenzo, didn't you hear me clearly? I said we're done. Completely done."Vincenzo'

The sound of things being smashed echoed from Vincenzo's office. Glass shattered continuously.I stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows on the top floor, watching Vincenzo's frantic rage through the live security feed. He was screaming wildly, hands clawing at his hair.I sat back in my leather chair and issued orders, my tone leaving no room for argument. "Start buying up all the scattered Rossi family shares on the market. I want 30% by sunrise tomorrow."Valentina was having a meltdown in her socialite group chat, sending voice message after voice message, her voice pleading."Grazia, please, I'm begging you, help Vincenzo! The creditors are blocking our front door!"I left the group chat immediately, my fingers flying across the screen to block out all the noise. The business partners who used to fawn over Vincenzo were now falling over themselves to get on my good side."Grazia, Vincenzo's project is full of holes. We'd like to switch our loyalty to the Abate family.

Chapter 7
I pushed open the doors to the Rossi family conference room. My heels clicked sharply against the floor. At the head of the long table sat Don Luca Rossi, his expression dark as he clutched a stack of drafts covered in red annotations.Vincenzo kneeled on the floor. His body shook violently, and his once-straight spine crumpled. The family elders stood around him, pointing at the map on the table, showing their shrinking territory in the south. Spit practically flew into his face as they shouted. In the past 24 hours, the Rossi family had lost the core territory they'd spent three years building. I walked over and sat down beside the Don. An Abate family associate pulled out a chair for me.Don Rossi threw the stack of papers at Vincenzo's feet. "Every line of revision on these pages was written by Grazia's own hand, you fraud."The Don's voice was low and carried a bone-chilling menace. Vincenzo stared at the papers on the ground, his throat too dry to make a sound.I let out a

The holding cell reeked of mold mixed with blood, and every breath I took made me sick. Vincenzo was chained to a torture rack, his once-expensive suit now torn to shreds. His fingers trembled at the tips. His eyes darted away, unable to meet mine, when I sat above him. Valentina was pressed into the mud beside him, her body shaking uncontrollably with fear.Don Rossi sat at my side. To satisfy me, he had to enforce the family's harshest punishment.I'd said it before—every debt had to be repaid, in money and in blood.I set down my glass of wine, my voice cutting through the silence like thunder. Vincenzo struggled to find words, his voice hoarse when he finally spoke."Grazia, after five years together, you're really going to destroy me completely?"I laughed coldly and walked down the steps. I ground my heel into his broken fingers."Five years together? You mean the years you spent kissing other women at clubs? The years you embezzled my parents' inheritance?"Valentina w

Rain poured down on the slum streets, and puddles of foul-smelling water pooled on the ground.Vincenzo huddled next to a pile of trash, wrapped in a filthy, tattered coat. His severed fingers had only been given basic bandaging. Now, they throbbed with excruciating pain.I sat in the back seat of the Rolls-Royce, coldly watching the beggar on the side of the road. I rolled the window down and tossed a stack of flyers out.The flyers announced a citywide blacklist. Anyone who sheltered him would face retaliation from the Abate family.Vincenzo struggled to pick one up. When he read it, he froze completely. He stumbled to the entrance of the club he used to frequent. The woman he'd kissed on New Year's Eve stood at the door in heavy makeup, soliciting customers.Vincenzo grabbed onto her legs like she was his last hope. "Help me. Please, just give me some food."The woman looked down and recognized his face. She didn't hide her contempt. "Well, well. Isn't this the Rossi Capo?"

Vincenzo watched his sister get humiliated and shrank back. He didn't even dare say a word in her defense. He was too busy clutching his bloody, mangled fingers. His selfishness made me sick. The thugs swaggered over, carrying heavy wooden clubs. "Hey, this bitch didn't clean the toilets right. No food for her today."Valentina screamed and begged, her voice hoarse. "Vincenzo, save me! They're going to hurt me!"Vincenzo kept his head down, pretending not to hear. His body curled in tighter.I leaned against the car door, watching the scene with interest. "Vincenzo, didn't you say you'd protect her for life?"He stammered out a response, still refusing to look up. "I can barely survive myself. I can't help her."Valentina's crying stopped abruptly. She stared at her own brother in disbelief, her eyes full of betrayal and finality.Don Rossi's assassins had already sealed off the street. Their black suits stood out sharply against the rain.Vincenzo realized what was coming. He
